I'm trying to get the facebook friends of my new users (to recommend them friends). I did all the work: integrated facebook in the app, permission facebook etc.
Then I use this to get the users
curl -i -X GET \
"https://graph.facebook.com/v4.0/ i put the user id here }?fields=id%2Cfriends&access_token= my acces token"
It works, but there's a problem with the id's:
If i use the facebook graph API: it says my ID is : 23337 ... (only digits).
If i log in with facebook in the flutter app: my ID is: M670V ... (digits + (capital) letters )
Only the id with only digits works for the curl.
How can I get the id with only digits from the flutter facebook sing in?
Thank you!
In login with facebook using firebase authentication, the uid is the firebase id so if you need facebook userId the call one api for get.
var graphResponse = await http.get(
'https://graph.facebook.com/v2.12/me?
fields=name,first_name,last_name,email&access_token=${facebookLoginResult
.accessToken.token}');
var profile = json.decode(graphResponse.body);
print(profile.toString());
//it return detail of facebook user
https://developers.facebook.com/docs/graph-api/using-graph-api/
After a bit of research,
The id with digits + letters is the firebase ID, it differs from the real facebook id.
Thanks for the help!

I have 3 questions: 1)Can I combine facebook login via mozila browser(selenium) with facebook graph api, for example:
browser=webdriver.Firefox()
browser.get('https://facebook.com')
user=browser.find_element_by_id('email')
user.send_keys('email')
password=browser.find_element_by_id('pass')
password.send_keys('pass')
login=browser.find_element_by_id('u_0_r')
login.click()
graph = facebook.GraphAPI(token)
profile = graph.get_object("me")
friends = graph.get_connections("me", "friends")
friend_list = [friend['name'] for friend in friends['data']]
print (friend_list)
2)Can somebody help me with login on facebook through app_id, secret_id and token, or through email and password
3)I want to get profile info, for example with help of get_object, but I need to know user's id to do it. How can I get this id, if I have only page url's, or I can use part after facebook.com/ to do this request?
P.s. If u know answer at least on one of this questions, pls right it in comments or in answers, it will be very useful:)
I have developed a Facebook app in test mod and I want to publish on the test user's wall.
this is the link where the user register and accept the permissions:
https://www.facebook.com/dialog/oauth?type=user_agent&client_id=MY_APP_ID&display=popup&redirect_uri=THE_URL&scope=email%2Cpublish_actions
After that I am getting an some sort of a token, using this token I am doing the following request to the graph:
/oauth/access_token?client_id=MY_APP_ID&client_secret=MY_APP_SECRET&grant_type=fb_exchange_token&fb_exchange_token=".$token
the token coming back is now being used by me to get the user's details from the graph:
/me/?$user_access_token&fields=name,age_range,id,email,gender,currency,locale,timezone"
I am getting in result all the fields listed above. (one strange thing, the id coming back is not the test user's public id, the other field are correct...)
when I want to post so someones wall I am running this int the graph:
/oauth/access_token?client_id=MY_APP_ID&client_secret=MY_SECRET&grant_type=client_credentials
the token coming back will be used here:
$token = self::getAccessToken($app_id,$app_secret);
$post_array = array();
$post_array['access_token'] = $token;
$post_array['message'] = urlencode($message);
$post_array['link'] = urlencode($link);
$res = self::post("https://graph.facebook.com/".$user_id."/feed?",$post_array);// the user id might be wrong?
and I am getting the following error:
{"error":{"message":"(#200) Permissions error","type":"OAuthException","code":200,"fbtrace_id":"EO5WvMfYYgC"}}
What can it be?
the fact that I am in test mod?
or maybe the user's ID i got back is wrong?
Thanks
The ID is correct, you only get an "App Scoped ID". You are not supposed to use the global/public ID anymore, and you should use /me/feed for posting, not /user-id/feed. You can only post on the wall of the authorized user anyway.
I'm developing an application with ionic and Backand and I'm using the sign in with social accounts with the Backand service.
The social login process is OK, but I want to get the ID from Facebook and Google plus in order to get the profile picture.
I was talking with the support of Backand and I know that in Security and Auth there is an action "beforesocialSignUp" and I have not commented the line to get the data:
'use strict';
function backandCallback(userInput, dbRow, parameters, userProfile) {
// get facebook id and put in fuid field that you need to add to your user object
userInput.fuid = parameters.socialProfile.additionalValues.id;
// get gender from facebook and put in gender field that you need to add to your user object
// userInput.gender = parameters.socialProfile.additionalValues.gender;
}
And I have created the fuid field in my user object, but, when I make a login with Facebook or Google+ It doesn't save nothing. The login is OK but I can't get the ID data.
Any idea?
I had exactly the same problem.
The solution was to set the where condition of the BeforeSocialSignUp function from false to true.
This is nowhere in the documentation explained.
It took me 3 day ro figure this out :-(
Now the login works as expected and the fuid field gets assigned.
My next step is to get the profile picture from the FB Account, but therefore I have to make an API request to facebook with a user access token which I dont know how to get from backand.
I am trying out the new Facebook Messenger Platform and have hit a bit of a problem.
When a user first chats with my Bot, I want to use the sender.id to lookup the user in my DB and verify whether they're a customer or not and offer a more tailored UX.
User's sign up to my service using Facebook Login, but unfortunately it appears my App's Facebook ID & my Bot's Facebook ID are different due to IDs being limited to App-scopes.
Is there any way associate the 2 IDs to allow me to find a user in my DB?
UPDATE (4/20/2016):
We got around this by asking users on first contact via messenger to click a link to login to their account so we could associate their messenger_id with their account in our DB.
Would be awesome if facebook instead included PAGE_SCOPED IDs in the ids_for_business endpoint.
UPDATE: (6/1/2016):
Facebook's latest update includes a new "Account Linking" functionality that appears to solve this issue. See https://developers.facebook.com/docs/messenger-platform/account-linking
Facebook's latest update includes a new "Account Linking" functionality that appears to solve this issue. See https://developers.facebook.com/docs/messenger-platform/account-linking
Unfortunately, there's no way of doing that currently. Asking them to login for new threads is the best way of linking accounts.
Yes. You can get details like first name, last name, profile pic url, locale, timezone, gender from an api. Only you have to pass is their recipient id/sender id and acccess_token of your messenger bot.
https://graph.facebook.com/v2.6/USER_ID?fields=first_name,last_name,profile_pic,locale,timezone,gender&access_token=TOKEN
I solved it different way but it works perfectly by graph API,i read mailbox of my page so that when any one can interact by messenger bot than i read pages inbox and iterate through,
Step 1:
Do a HTTP get request by graph API ,
you want a PAGE_UNIQUE_ID from Graph API ,
GET REQUEST
https://graph.facebook.com/v2.6/<PAGE_UNIQUE_ID>?fields=conversations.limit(10){participants,updated_time,id}&access_token=<PAGE_ACCESS_TOKEN>
PAGE_UNIQUE_ID Hints:
Go ===> https://developers.facebook.com/tools/explorer/ ==> Press "Get Token" ===> Select your desired page ===>Finally Submit , You show a id on output that is PAGE_UNIQUE_ID in here.
Check on browser for resoponse.
Step 2:
After doing above http request ,you get a JSON object that will show latest 10 conversation of pages where desired facebook id included.
Step 3:
Do iteration through by user full name or you can use lodash or underscore at your choice,
getUserID(response,'Zahid Rahman')
function getUserID(response, fullname) {
if (response && response.conversations && response.conversations.data) { //Check response is correct
var conversations = response.conversations.data; //Get all conversations
for (var j = 0; j < conversations.length; j++) {
var conversationsParticipants = conversations[j].participants.data;
for (var k = 0; k < conversationsParticipants.length; k++) { //Get all particiapnts of a single conversation.
var conversationsParticipantsEach = conversationsParticipants[k];
if (conversationsParticipantsEach.name === fullname) { //Check fullname match or not
console.log("Desired Facebook User ID : " + conversationsParticipants[k].id);
return conversationsParticipants[k].id;
}
}
}
}
}
Hope it will help you.
This is probably what you want: https://developers.facebook.com/docs/apps/for-business
It allows you to get all of the app-scoped user ids on a per-business basis.
I have a minor problem in facebook c# sdk
I just want to get the facebook user id without asking for permissions , just from the signed request. Up to now i have written the code below:
var current = new DefaultFacebookApplication { AppId ="***", AppSecret = "***" };
dynamic signedRequest = FacebookSignedRequest.Parse(current, Request);
var UserId = (string)signedRequest.Data.user.id;
My first question is :is that is possible? Is it possible to get the user id without oauth?
Secondly , if it is possible is the (string)signedRequest.Data.user.id statement correct?;
You cannot get the Facebook user id from the signed_request unless they've authenticated your app. It is a privacy issue.
