How to run clamd as a service on Centos 8 - centos

I have downloaded clamd (and clamav) and I'd like to run clamd with on-access scanning as a service with systemctl. Is this even possible on Centos 8? If not, is there a anticirus alternative which will allow me to scan files on access?
Failed to start clamd.service: Unit clamd.service not found.

Since CentOS 7.x, you need to use systemd to create a .service file for clamd.
Have you installed clamav-server-systemd package?? This should fix your problem..You could create your own if needed:

support time namespace for ubuntu with systemd use

I have Ubuntu 21.04, and need to support systemd for minikube use.
For minikube support, which needs the systemd (also calls systemctl), I found a workaround solution for adding systemd deamon support in:
minikube for ubuntu
When trying running any script related to: daemonize,
and running /usr/bin/nsenter -t "$SYSTEMD_PID" -a, I got and error:
cannot open /proc/27791/ns/time: No such file or directory
I investigated a bit, and find in: linux namespace that (as in the link):
Time (CLONE_NEWTIME; /proc/pid/ns/time) <= very new!
I assume it is new namespace with new support, so there might be an installation, whenever I need to downgrade or having upgrade of a version for a specific installation.
Whether is deamonatize service or another service.
when running lsns -l I get:
I see there is no namespace of time.
What should I do in order to support /proc/pid/ns/time (or downgrade/upgrade a specific version - how can I do that)?
Thanks.

Cannot complete pgadmin4 setup. Apache web server

I've got problem with completing pgadmin4 installation thru sudo /usr/pgadmin4/bin/setup-web.sh command.
During this process instalator does not recognizing that Apache is running and asks me if I want to start it:
The Apache web server is not running. We can enable and start the web server for you to finish pgAdmin 4 installation. Continue (y/n)? y
Then it just spits some errors:
Too few arguments.
Error enabling . Please check the systemd logs
Too few arguments.
Error starting . Please check the systemd logs
So far I havn't found where the logs are stored.
About my apache, I am quite sure that my server is running, because I can connect to it through browser, phpmyadmin is working properly, and service apache2 status returns * apache2 is running. By my understanding apache2 is just fancy word for httpd service, and there is no other service called simply apache.
PostgreSQL seems to work properly from command line, haven't tested if I can connect to it yet, but this shouldn't be the case right?
I am using
**PostgreSQL:** 12.5 (Ubuntu 12.5-0ubuntu0.20.04.1)
**Ubuntu:** Ubuntu 20.04 LTS
**Server:** Apache/2.4.41 (Ubuntu)
I had the same issue for Debian 10 and Ubuntu 20. The /usr/pgadmin4/bin/setup-web.sh script is using 'uname -a' which doesn't contain "Debian" identifier in the return string. Updating this to read /proc/version will allow APACHE to be specified as the Debian variant of apache2.
Change:
UNAME=$(uname -a)
To:
UNAME=$(cat /proc/version)
I had a similar problem with Ubuntu running inside WSL 2. Managed to resolve it by modifying the /usr/pgadmin4/bin/setup-web.sh script. I moved these lines outside of the conditional:
IS_DEBIAN=1
APACHE=apache2
This allowed the installation to progress beyond the Too few arguments. error. There was still an error however:
System has not been booted with systemd as init system (PID 1). Can't operate.
Error restarting apache2. Please check the systemd logs
I resolved this by running:
sudo service apache2 restart
After this I tried bringing up the admin page by visiting http://127.0.0.1/pgadmin4 from the Windows host. This still didn't work, and had to connect using the Ubuntu machine's ip address (you can find it out via ifconfig) which finally allowed me to see the login page.

Problem setting up some critical paths when I run Wildfly 20 as a service

I have a problem setting up some critical paths when I run Wildfly 20 as a service.
When I install (in "VM1") Wildfly in /home/myuser/ instead of /opt and NOT as a service and run it with the following, I am able to use the Admin console's "Test Connection" to connect to a Sybase SQL Anywhere database using the sajdbc4 driver.
cd ~/wildfly-20.0.1.Final/bin
export LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/home/myuser/wildfly-20.0.1.Final/modules/system/layers/base/com/sybase/main
export CLASSPATH=.:/home/myuser/wildfly-20.0.1.Final/modules/system/layers/base/com/sybase/main/sajdbc4.jar
./standalone.sh
LD_LIBRARY_PATH sets the path to the driver support files.
On the other hand, when I install Wildfly (in "VM2") exactly the same way as before except for installing into /opt and the extra steps to run Wildfly as a service as below, the Admin console's "Test Connection" fails with:
cd ~/wildfly-20.0.1.Final/bin
export LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/opt/wildfly-20.0.1.Final/modules/system/layers/base/com/sybase/main
export CLASSPATH=.:/opt/wildfly-20.0.1.Final/modules/system/layers/base/com/sybase/main/sajdbc4.jar
sudo systemctl start wildfly
2020-08-28 13:13:41,341 INFO [org.jboss.as.controller] (Controller Boot Thread) WFLYCTL0183:
Service status report WFLYCTL0184: New missing/unsatisfied dependencies: service jboss.jdbc-driver.sajdbc4_jar (missing) dependents: [service jboss.driver-demander.java:jboss/datasources/TestDB, service org.wildfly.data-source.TestDB]
I can run a simple Java test app on the "VM02" system that connects and dumps a database table with:
cd $HOME/Desktop
export LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/opt/wildfly-20.0.1.Final/modules/system/layers/base/com/sybase/main
export CLASSPATH=.:/opt/wildfly-20.0.1.Final/modules/system/layers/base/com/sybase/main/sajdbc4.jar
java sajdbc4DriverTest.java
This suggest ti me that all of the driver files are present at and the LD_LIBRARY_PATH location. Note that the launch of Wildlfly as a service uses the same paths.
Can anyone explain why Wildfly is ignoring the two paths I set prior to starting the service?
Thank you in advance.
Service environment variables are not set this way. And even if they were, the use of sudo changes to a new user with new environment variables.
Instead, if you installed Wildfly as documented in wildfly-20.0.1.Final/docs/contrib/scripts/systemd, add your environment variables in /etc/wildfly/wildfly.conf. Something more like:
# The configuration you want to run
WILDFLY_CONFIG=standalone.xml
# The mode you want to run
WILDFLY_MODE=standalone
# The address to bind to
WILDFLY_BIND=0.0.0.0
# Add Sybase native library dir
LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/opt/wildfly-20.0.1.Final/modules/system/layers/base/com/sybase/main
I don't feel that you need to set CLASSPATH but I don't think it'll hurt either.

Set up Postgresql-93 on Centos 7

I followed this Almost idiot's guide to install postgresql and postgis on Centos 7 and got stuck starting the database itself with the following command:
[root#localhost cmaps]# service postgresql-9.3 initdb
The service command supports only basic LSB actions (start, stop, restart, try-restart, reload, force-reload, status). For other actions, please try to use systemctl.
If I install the postgresql package from Centos repository (version 9.2) the command works, but then I they don't have postgis, and there is no official posgresql-92 repository for Centos 7.
Any idea on what's happening?
Thank you!
I had the same problem and solve it by changing the path
/usr/pgsql-9.3/bin/postgresql93-setup initdb
Note that the path is different
CentOS 7 is based on systemd. PostgreSQL packages use a different command for initdb there:
/usr/lib/pgsql-9.3/bin/postgresql93-setup initdb
On older versions, call the initscript directly.
/etc/init.d/postgresql-9.3 initdb
For Centos 7.3 installed on MS Azure platform the script is located at
/usr/bin/postgresql-setup initdb
the version number is absent from the name of these as well:
db data & config location: /var/lib/pgsql/data/
service name /sbin/service postgresql status or systemctl status postgresql.service

Trying to install LAMP on Centos?

Hey guys I'm running Centos 6.2 minimal, and I am trying to install LAMP for my server and following this tutorial.
It installed flawlessly however when I try to configure the services to start automatically, its cool with
/sbin/chkconfig httpd on
but when I try
/sbin/chkconfig --add mysqld
it says:
error reading information on service mysqld: No such file or directory
is mysqld installed? try yum install mysql-server or some such. it might also not be named mysqld but mysql see /etc/init.d/ directory for the scripts.
System cannot find mysqld in /etc/init.d
Try: locate mysqld
Normally it will be /u/sbin or /u/bin folder (depends on Operating system and default settings).
copy mysqld (if you find it) to /etc/init.d folder, check the file permission.
Then try chkconfig --add mysqld again.
Post your result of the command above if you still cannot get it going.
