Tableau How to show average of column - tableau-api

I have multiple column of survey answers from excel in tableau with the answers being 1,2,3,4,5. I want to show across the average for each column but in singular bar graph. For example row 1 would have a bar chart showing the average for that excel column, row 2 would show the average for its column etc. I would love the name of each excel column (Answer from survey) to be on the left side of the chart. However I can't figure it out since every time I drag the question into the row tab it starts showing (1-5) and doesn't just keep the average of the column. Thanks!

After replicating and trying what you described, my suggestions is to drag "Measure Values" (from Measure list on the sidebar) dropping in the "Columns" tray, and "Measure Names" on Rows.
Then use Measure Names as a filter, selecting the questions.

Showing absolute and percentage values in Tableau

I want to show both absolute and percentage value in a single view in the form of a matrix.
In the below view I am trying to add one more column showing values as percentages of total
Got hint here but not able to replicate:Tableau - Both count and Percentage in Measure Values
The data is like this
can any one please suggest!
Not that difficult. I recreated a data like yours,
Follow these steps
Add slide on rows
Add number of records in text on marks card
Add table calculation on this field -> percent of total. The view will look like this
Notice a small triangle in 'no of records' field. That indicates that it is table calculation
Add number of records field once again to text. (Tip: Double click the field number of records to add it to view directly)
Reorder as you like
or with totals

Percentage labels on a stacked column graph

I have the following calculated field in Tableau :
[Nb of articles]/TOTAL(COUNT([Post reach]))
However I want my total to be calculated only at a weekly level.
Hope I'm clear.
Thanks !
I found the answer on the community of Tableau users :
1. Select the measure second time (Row/Column shelf)
2. Click on this second selected measure in the row shelf (or column where its kept)
3. Move to the "Quick Table Calculation" in the drop down menu which appeared
4. Select "Percentage of Total" from the sub menu (This should add a second chart with percentages)
5. Now, drag and drop the measure to Label (second chart would disappear as measure is moved to label mark)
Very easy ! :)

show each column in the cross-tab in different background color -Tableau

I am Creating a Cross-tab with Tableau Desktop 10.0.
I need to show each column in the cross-tab in different background color. How to do this tableau. I have read about a method using calculated columns, but i am looking for other options. Also is it possible differentiate each columns with a line?
Thanks for help
I'm not sure what you mean by calculated columns but the only way I know is to use a dummy Measure in the columns shelf and then place the actual measure you want on the Text pill. Set the marks to Bar and increase the size to full. Each Measure will have its own dummy Measure in the column shelf. Take a look at this example. https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/60455118/160919%20stack%20question.twbx
As for differentiating each column with a line, you can do this by going Format > Borders > Column and adjust the Column Divider.

grouped stacked sales column chart

I am trying to produce a sales chart using only the native Excel features, I am trying to group sales data by month and category. I want my sale types to stack for a monthly total so that I can compare not only total volume, but also track where that volume is coming from. I have been able to group by month using a pivot chart, but I can't figure out how group my categories and display them as discrete parts of the monthly sum. Here is a mock-up of what I am trying to produce: http://i.imgur.com/BCFfwQJ.png
I'm helpless in VBA and SQL, and my coworkers are even worse than me at it, so I need to do this with just the built-in Excel 2010 features.
Set up the data so the months are in the first column, type labels in the first row, values in columns under the respective type, and keep the top left cell blank (above months and left of types). Add another column with the quota label next to the type labels and the quota values next to the type values. Make a stacked column chart from this data, right click on the quota series (which is another stacked column), choose Change Series Chart Type from the pop=up menu, and choose a line chart type.

Create a grouped bar chart with multiple measures by color

I'd like to create a grouped bar chart with multiple measures by color. I have the following measures:
Clicks
Impressions
Revenue
Profit
I have a total of 2 web sites that I am collecting data from, so I'd like to have a different color for each measure and the columns to be side-by-side. Also, I'd like for them to be separated by site as well.
I see the stacked bar columns, but that's not the way I want to visualize this. Anybody have any ideas?
As far as I Understood, you have 4 measures, 1 dimension(Websites) with 2 websites names. Now, you need to show side by side bar, each column has two websites i.e., 4 columns with 2 sub columns each.
Drag Measure Names and Websites to columns shelf and Measure Values to row shelf.
Now, from Show Me shelf select side-by-side bars
If you get 2 columns with 4 sub columns, swap positions of Measure Names and Websites.
If you didn't get different colors for different measures, drag Measure Names to Color in Marks.
hope this is what you are looking for.
Just like Y.Prithvi said, you would use measure names and measure values.
(disregard the fields in the filters card, I filtered my data to match what you were trying to accomplish)
