I am trying to implement form lead conversions using amp-analytics and facebook pixel.
I found examples on using amp-analtics with facebook pixel here;
Github Amp Analytics Vendors
However, this does not go into any detail on how the events are built up? Currently I have the following amp code;
<amp-analytics type="facebookpixel" id="facebook-pixel">
<script type="application/json">
{
"vars": {
"pixelId": "MYPIXELID"
},
"triggers": {
"trackPageview": {
"on": "visible",
"request": "pageview"
},
"trackEvent": {
"on": "amp-form-submit-success",
"selector": "#instantQuoteForm",
"request": "event",
"vars": {
"value": "1.00",
"currency": "£"
}
}
}
}
</script>
</amp-analytics>
So currently I want to track pageviews and form submissions completed through this page. Currently I have this generated through the facebook events manager interface;
Can anyone direct me to any kind of documentation for this?
Update
To update the event tracking seems to be coming through to the facebook manager console. Per the image below;

I followed the guide here: https://developers.facebook.com/docs/marketing-api/offline-conversions
Unlike "regular" Event Sets, which includes a "Test Events" tab in its dashboard, offline event sets don't seem to have this feature. You must either upload a CSV or call the API.
However, the offline event set shows no data coming from the API at all; the history tab only shows the CSV uploads, which were "last received 10 days ago". It doesn't even include the test upload I made today.
Is this a bug? How long should I wait for the data to appear in the events manager for my offline event?
Sample call
POST https://graph.facebook.com/v15.0/<offline_event_set_id>/events?access_token=<system_user_access_token>
{
"upload_tag": "store_data",
"data": [
{
"match_keys": {
"em": "<hashed>",
"ph": "<hashed>"
},
"currency": "PHP",
"value": 100,
"event_id": "test",
"event_name": "Purchase",
"event_time": "1669633380",
"custom_data": {
"event_source": "in_store"
},
"action_source": "physical_store",
"order_id": "test",
"data_processing_options": []
}
]
}
The response is as follows:
{"id":"<offline_event_set_id>","num_processed_entries":1}
Which seems to indicate that the event was uploaded successfully. But that event never shows up in the Overview tab of that offline event set.
Would appreciate any insights/guides elsewhere/answers, I've spent a few days on this with no success.
The "error": I was encoding the event_time as a string, whereas Facebook expects this value to be an integer. After updating my POST body to correct that, the events started showing up within minutes in the Overview tab.

I really wish Facebook had returned some kind of error or warning, but at least I found the issue. Be careful with your data types, people!
So I have been experimenting with different Response types for DialogFlow through Actions: Actions Responses and Webhook/Fulfillment.
And so far, I have been able to generate proper responses for types like List, Basic Card, Suggestion Chips successfully. What I need now is a list-based response that lets the user open a link in a browser when touched as well as "not" generate a chat bubble. "Browsing carousel" fits the criteria: Browsing Carousel.
I have successfully created and simulated the output with 2 sample items. The issue is when the user wants to continue the conversation. As per the Guidance section in the help above, the browsing carousel:
By default, the mic remains closed after a browse carousel is sent. If you want to continue the conversation afterwards, we strongly recommend adding suggestion chips below the carousel.
From this what I understood is that the user has to invoke the App again by saying "Ok Google, talk to [app]". This doesn't seem very user-friendly as the user expects to return back to the conversation she was having with the agent after she has looked through the links from the carousel. Please note, I have simulated the flow using the Google Actions Simulator on Console.Actions page.
As soon as I invoke the intent with the Browsing Carousel, it is shown to me with the sample Items. But when I enter/say the next command to continue the conversation, the agent simply returns with:
We're sorry, but something went wrong. Please try again.
And the REQUEST/REQUEST window as well as the ERRORS/DEBUG are empty. I have logged calls to the Webhook and there is no call received.
The question: Is there a way to give the user the ability to browse an informative link from a response "list" (not Basic Card) and return to the conversation without ending it.
Here is the response for Browsing Carousel from RESPONSE window in Actions > Simulator (note I've removed non-relevant parts):
{
"conversationToken": "[token info]",
"expectUserResponse": true,
"expectedInputs": [
{
"inputPrompt": {
"richInitialPrompt": {
"items": [
{
"simpleResponse": {
"textToSpeech": "You have the following 2 options:",
"displayText": "You have the following 2 options:"
}
},
{
"carouselBrowse": {
"items": [
{
"title": "Test 1",
"description": "Desc 2",
"image": {
"url": "[some url]"
},
"openUrlAction": {
"url": "[some url]"
}
},
{
"title": "Test 2",
"description": "Desc 2",
"image": {
"url": "[some url]"
},
"openUrlAction": {
"url": "[some url]"
}
}
]
}
}
],
"suggestions": [
{
"title": "Continue"
},
{
"title": "End"
}
]
}
}
}
],
"responseMetadata": {
"status": {
"message": "Success (200)"
},
"queryMatchInfo": {
"queryMatched": true
}
}
}
For all those who are using the Simulator to test the Browsing Carousel and seeing that it stops responding after the output, please use a device instead to test it. When you use a device to render the output and use the Carousel response, it doesn't kill the conversation but turns off the mic. This is the intended behavior. One can introduce Suggestion chips to assist the user to continue the conversation.
Updated: Also make sure each Webhook Intent call has a proper response with Simple Response. As long as the response has required textual and audio information correctly setup, the Simulator will not fail.
Facebook terms are very confusing and it is not explained very clearly. I am confused between inline_post_engagement and actions > post_engagement what is the difference between the two? I get different value at both the places. Here is a sample response from Fb
{
"data": [
{
"inline_post_engagement": "3257",
"actions": [
{
"action_type": "page_engagement",
"value": "14555"
},
{
"action_type": "post_engagement",
"value": "14433"
}
],
"date_start": "2017-06-21",
"date_stop": "2017-09-18"
}
],
"paging": {
"cursors": {
"before": "MAZDZD",
"after": "MAZDZD"
}
}
}
Inline post engagement is the total number of actions that people take involving your ads. Inline post engagements use a fixed 1-day-click attribution window. It should be a numeric string. On the other hand, an action is activity that happens as a result of your ad.
For example, if someone views your ad and then installs an app, that app install may be attributed to your ad. An action is attributed to your ad performance when it happens within 1 day of someone viewing your ad or 28 days of someone clicking or engaging with your ad.
So, basically, post engagement is a type of action (action is the main category, pe is a subcategory). Hope this helps.
Trying to get the impressions per notification of specific group(by using ref).
By the api you can set a group for notifications by adding ref param to the notification request
That worked fine.
Now i am trying to use the API for getting insights as explained here:
insights
I still dont understand how to pass the ref param.
this is my execution:
../app_insights/app_notification_impressions?breakdowns[0]=ref&access_token={access-token}
And in return I get this:
{
"data": [
{
"time": "2014-12-09T08:00:00+0000",
"value": "44",
"breakdowns": {
"ref": "no_ref_specified"
}
}
]
}
How I am passing the request the ref value?
I tried all kind of combinations and I get errors.
I posted notification with diff ref. ref=test0099 and Now I see this:
{
"data": [
{
"time": "2014-12-09T08:00:00+0000",
"value": "3",
"breakdowns": {
"ref": "no_ref_specified"
}
},
{
"time": "2014-12-10T08:00:00+0000",
"value": "1",
"breakdowns": {
"ref": "test0099"
Maybe there is some bug over there?
thanks,
ray.
Edit:
Stating your findings
for some reason you cant notify with ref which is only numeric or start with numeric
Again, it still comes to down to file a bug.
From IRC, just stating that you should file a bug.
As long as the app is a canvas app and a game you should be able to see the desired response
HTTP POST /13608786/notifications with App Token and
template=Yo this is a test
ref=test0099
You should receive the notification
And be redirected to the canvas page
https://apps.facebook.com/philippeharewood/?fb_source=notification&fb_ref=test0099&ref=notif¬if_t=app_notification
The insights will reflect the same
HTTP GET /app/app_insights/app_notification_impressions?breakdowns[0]=ref
{
"data": [
{
"time": "2014-12-10T08:00:00+0000",
"value": "1",
"breakdowns": {
"ref": "test0099"
}
}
]
}
This issue apparently to be a bug.
I have assigned this into facebook developers and now they taking care of it.

How can a facebook app, have access to a social reader's post in the feed? For example, I want to have access to Washington Post's social reader post (when someone else reads an article there and it gets shown up in my news feed) from an app that I am writing. Is it possible to do so, using FQL?
It's easily available in the Graph API (i'll check if it's in FQL)
Basically, either way you'll need to request the user_actions.reads permission from your users. (NB: not user_actions:reads which would be for an app whose namespace is 'reads', for news, music and video apps using the build-in actions there's a special scope)
Then, for the Graph API, just make a call to /USER_ID/news.reads - the response includes the recently read articles from all apps using the built-in 'read' action, example response for my account below:

"data": [
