How to get the nearest Feature of an leaflet WMS Map? - leaflet

I am quiet new to Web Services and I am facing a problem.
I have a Map linked with a WMS.
I added a basemap and my WMS Date as a tileLayer and the show up correctly on my map.
Now I want the nearest Feature to PopUp when I click anywhere on the map.
I already searched the Web but could not find a solution I understood. (https://gist.github.com/rclark/6908938)
Can anyone help me with this?
This is my code so far:
<!DOCTYPE html>
<html>
<head>
<title>XXX</title>
<link rel="stylesheet" href="https://unpkg.com/leaflet#1.6.0/dist/leaflet.css"
integrity="sha512-xwE/Az9zrjBIphAcBb3F6JVqxf46+CDLwfLMHloNu6KEQCAWi6HcDUbeOfBIptF7tcCzusKFjFw2yuvEpDL9wQ=="
crossorigin=""/>
<script src="https://unpkg.com/leaflet#1.6.0/dist/leaflet.js"
integrity="sha512-gZwIG9x3wUXg2hdXF6+rVkLF/0Vi9U8D2Ntg4Ga5I5BZpVkVxlJWbSQtXPSiUTtC0TjtGOmxa1AJPuV0CPthew=="
crossorigin=""></script>
<style type="text/css">
#nrwMap { height: 800px; width: 1300px;}
</style>
</head>
<body>
<div id="Map"></div>
<script type="text/javascript">
var mymap = L.map('Map').setView([51.28, 7.33], 8);
var url = 'http://www.xxx.xxx.com/wms/';
var basemap = L.tileLayer('https://api.mapbox.com/styles/v1/{id}/tiles/{z}/{x}/{y}?access_token=pk.eyJ1IjoibWFwYm94IiwiYSI6ImNpejY4NXVycTA2emYycXBndHRqcmZ3N3gifQ.rJcFIG214AriISLbB6B5aw', {
maxZoom: 18,
attribution: 'Map data © OpenStreetMap contributors, ' +
'CC-BY-SA, ' +
'Imagery © Mapbox',
id: 'mapbox/streets-v11'
})
basemap.addTo(mymap);
var featureLayer = L.tileLayer.wms(url, {
layers: 'layerName',
format: 'image/png',
transparent: true
});
featureLayer.addTo(mymap);
</script>
</body>
</html>

Leaflet.GeometryUtil has a function/feature called closestLayer. It might help.
mymap.on('click', onMapClick);
function onMapClick(e) {
nearestLayer = L.GeometryUtil.closestLayer(mymap, layersToSearch, e.latlng)
// It will return the layer, latlng of point on layer nearest to the 'click' and distance from the 'click' }

Leaflet Map v1.7.1 not displaying but markers work

I'm just trying to do a simple map using the Leaflet.js libraries directly instead of the python wrappers(ipyleaflet, folium) but I can't any map to display regardless of what I do. the map area is drawn the correct size with the zoom controls, as are the tile attributions, and a marker in the right location. I have tried multiple browsers and also in QWebEngineView as well as different tile sets. I've also tried both the hosted js and css scripts as well as local copies The results are the same. Everything with the same v1.7.1 release though.
Here is the html code:
<!DOCTYPE html>
<html lang="en" xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">

#map {
width: 900px;
height: 400px;
}
</style>
</head>
<body>
<div id="map"></div>
<script>
var layer = L.tileLayer('https://api.mapbox.com/styles/v1/{id}/tiles/{z}/{x}/{y}?access_token={accessToken}', {
attribution: 'Map data © OpenStreetMap contributors, Imagery © Mapbox',
maxZoom: 18,
id: 'mapbox/satellite-v9',
tileSize: 512,
zoomOffset: -1,
accessToken: 'your.mapbox.access.token'
});
var mymap = L.map('map', { preferCanvas: true, center: [43.08695, -73.75792], layers: [layer], zoom: 10 });
var mymarker = L.marker([43.08695, -73.75792], { draggable: true }).addTo(mymap)
</script>
</body>
</html

Anybody got any ideas? This ought to be something really simple...

How to Implement Open Route Service in Leaflet

Can I use Open Route Service api in leaflet map? I can't find working example to show how to integrate api key on the map. Now I'm using graphhopper and it's working flawless but now it have restrictions to use up to 5 points.
When I try to make waypoints via open route service I'm showing this error: Uncaught TypeError: L.Routing.openrouteservice is not a constructor
My code:
var mymap = L.map('mapid').setView([50.27264, 7.26469], 13);
L.tileLayer('http://{s}.tile.openstreetmap.org/{z}/{x}/{y}.png', {
attribution: '© OpenStreetMap contributors and ORS'
}).addTo(this.mymap);
var control = L.Routing.control({
waypoints: [
L.latLng(3.102739, 101.598077),
L.latLng(3.101861, 101.599037)
],
router: new L.Routing.openrouteservice('5b3ce3597851110001cf6248e3cd48b3c44c4e529f8fac67408d4257')
// routeWhileDragging: true
}).addTo(this.mymap);
I don't know does openrouteservice works with leaflet routing machine but I tried with MapBox and everything works fine. So now my map support walking directions.

var map = L.map('map')
.addLayer(mapboxTiles)
.setView([42.3610, -71.0587], 15);
L.Routing.control({

profile : 'mapbox/walking',
language: 'en',
}),
waypoints: [

L.latLng(40.767949, -73.971855)
],
}).addTo(map);
</script>
</body>
</html>
This is my HTML snippet for including the stuff I need for maps and routing:
<script src="scripts/maps/leaflet.js"></script> <!-- Include Leaflet JS -->
<script src="scripts/maps/leaflet-routing-machine.js"></script> <!-- Include the Leaflet Routing Machine -->
<script src="scripts/maps/polyline.min.js"></script> <!-- for Leaflet Routing Machine -->
<script src="scripts/maps/lodash.min.js"></script> <!-- for Leaflet Routing Machine -->
<script src="scripts/maps/corslite.js"></script> <!-- for Leaflet Routing Machine -->
<script src="scripts/maps/L.Routing.OpenRouteService.js"></script> <!-- Include the Open Route Service for Leaflet Routing Machine -->
<script src="scripts/maps/leaflet-providers.js"></script>
Then in typescript:
let router = (L as any).Routing.control({
router: new (L as any).Routing.openrouteservice(orsKey),
waypoints: [
L.latLng(startLatitude, startLongitude),
L.latLng(endLatitude, endLongitude)
],
routeWhileDragging: false,
show: false,
fitSelectedRoutes: false,
createMarker: function (i, waypoint, n) {
return null;
},
lineOptions: {
styles: [{ color: '#9f150b', opacity: 1, weight: 4 }]
}
});
router.addTo(map);
Only problem is the Open route service use POST requests in the latest API. So the L.Routing.OpenRouteService.js file needs updating

Unable to load leaftlet map

I am following leaftlet js getting started tutorial. But I am unable to load the map. Here is the code I have
<!DOCTYPE html>
<html>
<head>
<title>Page Title</title>
<link rel="stylesheet" href="https://unpkg.com/leaflet#1.0.2/dist/leaflet.css" />
<script src="https://unpkg.com/leaflet#1.0.2/dist/leaflet.js"></script>
</head>
<style>
#mapid { height: 180px; }
</style>
<script>
var mymap = L.map('mapid').setView([51.505, -0.09], 13);
L.tileLayer('https://api.tiles.mapbox.com/v4/{id}/{z}/{x}/{y}.png?access_token={accessToken}', {
attribution: 'Map data © OpenStreetMap contributors, CC-BY-SA, Imagery © Mapbox',
maxZoom: 18,
id: 'your.mapbox.project.id',
accessToken: 'I have put public access token'
}).addTo(mymap);
</script>
<body>
<div style="margin-top:100px;margin-left:100px;height: 200px;width:200px" id="mapid"></div>
<div style="height:200px;width:200px;background: red">
</div>
</body>
</html>
In the above code, id: 'your.mapbox.project.id' I am unable to find this. I found only public access token, is this the reason map is not getting loaded .. any help is appreciated
To learn leaflet, you can just use the options of the example (check the source)
<div id="mapid" style="width: 600px; height: 400px;"></div>
<script>
var mymap = L.map('mapid').setView([51.505, -0.09], 13);
L.tileLayer('https://api.tiles.mapbox.com/v4/{id}/{z}/{x}/{y}.png?access_token=pk.eyJ1IjoibWFwYm94IiwiYSI6ImNpandmbXliNDBjZWd2M2x6bDk3c2ZtOTkifQ._QA7i5Mpkd_m30IGElHziw', {
maxZoom: 18,
attribution: 'Map data © OpenStreetMap contributors, ' +
'CC-BY-SA, ' +
'Imagery © Mapbox',
id: 'mapbox.streets'
}).addTo(mymap);
</script>
Later on, when you are more familiar with leaflet, you can open a mapbox account and learn about what they are adding.
The reason why mapbox is mentioned in the home page of leaflet is because the creator of leaflet is now working for mapbox.

unable to dispaly polygon on the map using Leaflet draw plugin

I am trying to use draw plugin from here http://leaflet.github.io/Leaflet.draw/docs/leaflet-draw-latest.html#l-draw
and tried using it locally as shown below
<html>
<head>
<title>A Leaflet map!</title>
<link rel="stylesheet" href="http://cdn.leafletjs.com/leaflet-0.7.3/leaflet.css"/>
<script src="http://cdn.leafletjs.com/leaflet-0.7.3/leaflet.js"></script>
<link rel="stylesheet" href="https://cdnjs.cloudflare.com/ajax/libs/leaflet.draw/0.4.2/leaflet.draw.css"/>
<script src="https://cdnjs.cloudflare.com/ajax/libs/leaflet.draw/0.4.2/leaflet.draw.js"></script>
<style>
#map{ height: 100% }
</style>
</head>
<body>
<div id="map"></div>
<script>
var map = L.map('map').setView([51.505, -0.09], 13);
L.tileLayer('http://{s}.tile.osm.org/{z}/{x}/{y}.png', {
attribution: '© OpenStreetMap contributors'
}).addTo(map);
var drawControl = new L.Control.Draw({
draw : {
position : 'topleft',
polygon : true,
polyline : false,
rectangle : true,
circle : false
},
edit : false
});
map.addControl(drawControl);
</script>
</body>
</html>
I am getting the drawing control and map but the polygon draw is not shown up after drawing is completed not sure how to do it
Please help in getting the polygon drawn on the map as shown in this demo
http://leaflet.github.io/Leaflet.draw/docs/examples/full.html
You must create a feature group and add the layers when they are created ...
var drawnItems = L.featureGroup().addTo(map);
map.on(L.Draw.Event.CREATED, function (event) {
var layer = event.layer;
drawnItems.addLayer(layer);
});

How do I delete multiple markers from a Leaflet map?

I am trying to delete all the markers on my map, but code below only the last added marker will be deleted.
Is there a way to get a new a instance of map i mean on click of a button is there a way to reinitialize the map in leaflet?
<!DOCTYPE html>
<html lang="en">
<head>
<meta charset="UTF-8">
<title>Title</title>
<link rel="stylesheet" href="https://npmcdn.com/leaflet#1.0.0-rc.3/dist/leaflet.css" />
</head>
<body>
<script src="https://npmcdn.com/leaflet#1.0.0-rc.3/dist/leaflet.js"></script>
<script src="../leaflet/lib/AnimatedMarker.js"></script>
<style>
#mapid { height: 500px; }
</style>
<div id="mapid"></div>
<script>
var mymap = L.map('mapid').setView([40.68510, -73.94136], 13);
L.tileLayer('http://{s}.tile.openstreetmap.fr/osmfr/{z}/{x}/{y}.png', {
attribution: '© Openstreetmap France | © OpenStreetMap'
}).addTo(mymap);
var marker = L.marker([40.68510, -73.94136]).addTo(mymap);
var marker = L.marker([40.68576, -73.94149]).addTo(mymap);
var marker = L.marker([40.68649, -73.94165]).addTo(mymap);
mymap.removeLayer(marker);
</script>
</body>
</html>
Instead of adding markers to the map, add your markers to a layerGroup and add the layerGroup to the map.
You can remove the markers using clearLayers() method.
var markers = L.layerGroup([marker1, marker2]).addTo(map);
markers.clearLayers();
