I work on a web Application which runs only on IE11. Currently, we use ActiveX control to open Documents (MS word) with in the web application. so far, everything works perfect with ActiveX control however Microsoft will stop supporting ActiveX control on IE11 in few months.
We want to upgrade this Web Application to make it run on EDGE. as ActiveX control is no longer an option, Is there a way/any different control equivalent to ActiveX, which I can leverage on to add it as an addOn in the browser, so the users can open/edit word documents.
Thanks in advance.
Note: When i Say Editing it's basic editing like font size and insert a table at the most.

You said Microsoft will stop supporting ActiveX control on IE11 in few months.
We don't have any news that Microsoft will stop supporting Activex control on IE 11. Maybe you have some misunderstanding. IE will continue to support ActiveX but it will block the outdated Activex control. So if your ActiveX control is outdated then you need to update it with the latest version to continue to make it work with IE 11 browser.
See this information:
Because many ActiveX controls aren’t automatically updated, they can
become outdated as new versions are released. It’s very important that
you keep your ActiveX controls up-to-date because malicious software
(or malware) can target security flaws in outdated controls, damaging
your computer by collecting info from it, installing unwanted
software, or by letting someone else control it remotely. To help
avoid this situation, Internet Explorer includes a new security
feature, called out-of-date ActiveX control blocking. Out-of-date
ActiveX control blocking lets you:
Know when IE prevents a webpage from loading common, but outdated ActiveX controls.
Interact with other parts of the webpage that aren’t affected by the outdated control.
Update the outdated control, so that it’s up-to-date and safer to use.

If you want to move to the MS Edge browser then I suggest you check the Office browser extension.
The Office browser extension is a free extension for Edge and Chrome, that gives you easy access to your Office apps and documents anywhere on the web. You can quickly access and edit Word, Excel, PowerPoint and other Office documents right from your Edge or Chrome browsers, without having to open your desktop apps.

How can I re-use the same Chrome Developer Tools Window for every tab/window?

I am very used to Mozilla Firefox - Firebug. When I use Firebug it isn't linked with a particular window, it changes when you switch window or tab so the Firebug instance always show the active window, html, css, javascript etc...
As I am e Web Developer I need to test a lot in different browsers. In Google Chrome the Developer Tools seems to have linked to it's own tab/window. Sometimes this is very helpfull because it allows you to compare 2 different html-trees or css in multiple Developer Tools windows. However can I re-use the Chrome Developer Tools like it will behave as Firebug does. With just 1 instance which automatically switch between source when I switch tabs or windows? I have searched for some option but could find it in somewhere. Is this even possible with Chrome Developer Tools?
I'm using OSX Yosemite and currently Google Chrome Version 43.0.2357.130 (64-bit).
Any help would be much appreciated! Thanks.
This is not supported. The best thing to do would be to file a feature request in the issue tracker. I doubt this kind of functionality would be implemented.
What DevTools does is store the settings locally, so the same settings persist between all opens. Each tab you wish to debug you need to explicitly open the DevTools for; these will all share the same settings and as they are changed in one instance it will populate to the others. This keeps the context from switching on-the-fly by just changing tabs and then losing your place.

IE11 F12 Developer Tools on Windows 7 functionality missing/not working?

I was using IE10 on Windows 7 but it is such a buggy piece of you-know-what (hanging, crashing, etc.) that I gave up and installed IE11. It has not hung or crashed since installing. But I hate the F12 developer tools! Okay, not completely - there are some very cool new features. What I don't like is that they seem to have dropped several features that I really liked! Unless I'm just missing something... I've searched and searched on Google and Microsoft but all of the help I've found only describes the new features. Here is what I'm missing: Color picker, Ruler, and most of all, the Clear browser cache for this domain. They allege to have a Clear browser cache function, but it doesn't work! So when I make changes to my website, in particular changing graphics, the only way I can see the change is to delete all my temporary files from IE. Then I lose all of my cookies e.g. for automatically logging in to Stack Overflow! IE version 11.0.9600.16428 on Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit.
The color picker is still available, go to the DOM Explorer tab and there is an eye dropper on the tool bar at the top towards the left. That activates the color picker.
For the issue of serving cached files try toggling on "Always refresh from server" on the network tool (3rd option from the left). This should get you the latest changes from your server.

Proofreading Browser Plugin

As part of our site deployment process we typically have proofreaders go through content on site at various stages in the process. For editing that happens before it gets to the site there are plenty of tools for tracking edits, but once the content is up on the site, we do not have a good method for this. I was thinking there might be a plugin or program that would allow our editors to load the site and mark-up the content in page as they would a tracked changes word document.
It seems like the kind of thing that aught to exist, but so far I have not found any god options for Chrome or Firefox. Has anyone made use of a tool like this in the past that they might recommend.

DreamWeaver CS4: Which Version Control System (VCS) does it use?

In DreamWeaver CS4 When I go to Site -> New Site... and go through
the various screens I get to a screen named
Site Definition -> Sharing Files
which asks me:
Do you want to enable checking in and checking out files,
to ensure that you and your co-workers cannot edit the
same file at the same time?
If I opt for Yes, it asks me for my name and email address,
AND NOTHING ELSE it seems.
What I would like to know is, what Version Control System (VCS)
is employed to implement the options on this screen? Is it DW's
propriety VCS system, or some other. I know CS4 supports Perforce,
but have no idea if this screen was to configure Perforce options
then why is this not mentioned? Which other VCS systems does DW CS4
support besides P4 (CVS, SVN, GIT, Mercurial (Hg), etc..)?
Thanks for sharing your knowledge,
John Goche
For the screen that you're talking about, the basic checkin/checkout functionality is not a version control system, it is an attempt to prevent multiple people from editing the same file at the same time. It merely adds a .lck file to the server for the file you checked out. If someone else with Dreamweaver tries to open the file (assuming they also have checkin/checkout turned on) they won't be able to edit the file (well, they can edit anyway and override the lock if they want to). The name and email address are only used to present that info to others editing the site, they can see who has a what file checked out. I think that you can also search through the site to see all files checked out by a specific person (Files panel option menu {top right of the panel) -> Site -> Show Checked out by.
See page 88 of this PDF for info on checkin/checkout, and page 91 for Subversion info: http://help.adobe.com/archive/en_US/dreamweaver/cs4/dreamweaver_cs4_help.pdf
And additional help for SVN and Dreamweaver here:

Edit: There is also an extension for using GIT: https://github.com/ChrisMcKee/gitweaver
You can of course use any version control you want on a site, if you use an external version control client. I've done this for years, and it works quite well, as you don't have to rely on an individual editing application to support version control.
Perforce is supported via the P4GT plugin: http://www.perforce.com/product/components/perforce_plugin_graphical_tools

How to remove codes generated by plugins from Chrome browser developers tool?

I'm using Google Chrome Developers tool and console while developing and debugging my web applications.
I've some Chrome plugins/extensions installed. These plugins/extensions add extra markups and scripts in the pages while rendering them in the browser, and when I view my codes in the developers tool, makes it a lot messy.
I want a clean way to view my codes without those extra markups.
So is there a way to toggle (disable/enable) the plugins quickly, or in the best way, to disable them in a particular tab? I've several plugins/extensions installed and I don't think it's a good idea to disable and then re-enable them manually.
Besides, I may want to use a plugin/extension while I'm browsing other websites on other tabs simultaneously.
There's no mechanism to disable an extension for a specific tab, or specific host. You could hack something together via the management API that would disable extensions when you hit a specific URL, but that disabled state would be global, not local.
Extensions don't, however, run in Incognito mode (unless you explicitly whitelist them via a checkbox at chrome://extensions): that might be a decent workaround for you. Load your in-development site in Incognito, work with it there in a clean environment, and pop back into your regular window for normal browsing.
You could, of course, accomplish the same thing by setting up a specific profile for development in which you simply didn't install extensions.
These are workarounds, of course. You should feel free to file a feature request for more granular user-side control over when extensions are loaded: http://new.crbug.com/
Would running 2 separate instances of Chrome be of help for you?
(You can start 2 unrelated Chrome browser instances from a command line specifying different user directories: chrome --user-data-dir=userdata1 & chrome --user-data-dir=userdata2 )
I haven't tried it for your usecase, but it sounds reasonable.
