I'm building an AR app with Flutter and using the ar_flutter_plugin.
The position of the AR widget seems to be fixed to the top left and it doesn't move anywhere else. Whatever the other widgets in the tree, doesn't change anything. It's always at top left corner (see image).
It works with a dummy widget just fine (compare second img).
Child Ar widget
Widget build(BuildContext context) {
return SizedBox(
width: widget.width,
height: widget.height,
child: Column(
children: [
Expanded(
child: Column(children: [
Expanded(
child: ARView(
onARViewCreated: onARViewCreated,
planeDetectionConfig:
PlaneDetectionConfig.horizontalAndVertical,
),
),
Align(
alignment: Alignment(1, 1),
child: FloatingActionButton(onPressed: takePicture))
]),
),
],
));
}
Parent Widget
Widget build(BuildContext context) {
return Scaffold(
appBar: AppBar(
title: Text('Title'),
),
key: scaffoldKey,
backgroundColor: FlutterFlowTheme.of(context).primaryBackground,
body: SafeArea(
child: GestureDetector(
onTap: () => FocusScope.of(context).unfocus(),
child: Stack(
children: [
Container(
width: 350,
height: 350,
child: ObjectsOnPlanesWidget(
// child: custom_widgets.ArPlaceholder(
width: double.infinity,
height: double.infinity,
modelUrl: widget.modelUrl,
),
),
Align(
alignment: AlignmentDirectional(-0.23, -0.92),
child: Padding(
padding: EdgeInsetsDirectional.fromSTEB(8, 24, 8, 24),
child: Row(
mainAxisSize: MainAxisSize.max,
mainAxisAlignment: MainAxisAlignment.spaceBetween,
children: [
Container(
width: 30,
height: 30,
decoration: BoxDecoration(
color:
FlutterFlowTheme.of(context).secondaryBackground,
borderRadius: BorderRadius.circular(12),
),
child: InkWell(
onTap: () async {
Navigator.pop(context);
},
child: Icon(
Icons.chevron_left,
color: Colors.black,
size: 24,
),
),
),
Text(
'Try On',
style: FlutterFlowTheme.of(context).bodyText1,
),
Container(
width: 30,
height: 30,
decoration: BoxDecoration(
color:
FlutterFlowTheme.of(context).secondaryBackground,
borderRadius: BorderRadius.circular(12),
),
child: Icon(
Icons.share_outlined,
color: Colors.black,
size: 24,
),
),
],
),
),
),
Align(
alignment: AlignmentDirectional(0, 0.95),
child: Container(
width: 50,
height: 50,
decoration: BoxDecoration(
color: FlutterFlowTheme.of(context).secondaryBackground,
borderRadius: BorderRadius.circular(12),
),
child: Icon(
Icons.photo_camera,
color: Colors.black,
size: 24,
),
),
),
],
),
),
),
);
}
I want to put the camera in the background and put other widgets (such as photo-taking-button) on top of it.
How do I reposition it into a container? At least under the App Bar?
Logically this should have worked, what i would suggest you try would be to first have a SafeArea widget.
SafeArea(
child: build(buildContext),
),
I had a similar issue in the past and using this solved it.
Also, there seems to be an open issue which seems related to this with the following possible solution :
With Flutter 2.10.5. it works without problems. This seems to be a Flutter 3 problem.
The way platforms views are rendered was changed in the 3.0 release.
probably same issue:
flutter/flutter#106246
explained here:
flutter/flutter#103630
I hope this will be fixed in new Flutter 3 releases soon.
And also this
I try the master channel Flutter v3.1.0-0.0.pre.1372 and the issue is fixed there.
Fixed will come to a stable channel soon with Flutter v3.1.0.
Also, I am not sure why are you using SizedBox as your parent widget.
Why not try a basic Container instead?
Good luck, Let me know if I can help with anything else
How can I create a row w/2 buttons that, together, take up the space of their parent (the row)? I want to place this row immediately above the bottom navigation bar at times and then at other times I want it to take the place of the bottom navigation bar. Can I do it just using Row? I've tried persistentFooterButtons with a child of Row and children of FractionallySizedBox but it results in an overflow error and the buttons don't take up the height of of the persistentFooterButtons. There's got to be a better, more straight-forward, approach. Just learning Flutter.
This is a rough example of what I want placed at the bottom of the screen (buttons should be of equal height), where the bottom nav bar would be... and/or immediately above.

Some of the many (unsuccessful attempts) below:
Wrap Buttons in Expand Attempt:
return Row(
children: <Widget>[
Expanded(
child: ElevatedButton(
onPressed: () {},
style: TextButton.styleFrom(backgroundColor: Colors.blue),
child: Text(
"Some Text #1",
style: TextStyle(color: Colors.white),
))),
Expanded(
child: ElevatedButton(
onPressed: () {},
style: TextButton.styleFrom(backgroundColor: Colors.green),
child: Text("Some Text #2"),
),
),
],
Wrap Buttons in Expand Attempt Result:
[![Result][2]][2]
As you can see, there is white space that shouldn't be there and the buttons are evenly spaced. I have also tried using ColoredBoxes instead of buttons as I read that buttons have margins that cannot be changed?
UPDATE
Finally figured it out, with the help of #lava solutions. Just made a few tweaks to it to remove white space, etc.

You can either add persistentFooterButtons to the Scaffold like
Scaffold(
persistentFooterButtons: [
TextButton(),
TextButton()
]
)
Or in the view:
Column(
children: [
Expanded(child: yourContent), // To use max height space
Row(
children: [
Expanded(child: TextButton()),
Expanded(child: TextButton()),,
]
),
]
),
To give a different width you can add flex to the Expanded or use Flexible and add flex
Wrap both your buttons with Expanded so that they take same amount of width and fill the row.
I'm trying to create a circle in the flutter. I want to add multiple buttons and bound them in a circle like this.
The marked fields are supposed to be buttons and Course 1 is just the text.
I am able to create something like this but it is only string splitted in the button.
Here is my code for this. I'm not getting any idea about how to do this task. I'm new to flutter.
import 'package:flutter/material.dart';
void main(){runApp(MyApp());}
class MyApp extends StatelessWidget {
#override
Widget build(BuildContext context) {
return MaterialApp(
home: Scaffold(
appBar: new AppBar(
title: Text("Student home"),
),
body:Center(
child: Container(
margin: EdgeInsets.all(10),
padding: EdgeInsets.all(10),
width: 200,
height: 200,
child: Center(
child: Text("Course 1 \n Course 2",
style: TextStyle(fontSize: 12.0,
fontStyle: FontStyle.italic,
),
textAlign: TextAlign.center,
),
),
decoration: BoxDecoration(
border:Border.all(width:3),
borderRadius: BorderRadius.all(
Radius.circular(50),
),
color: Colors.yellow,
),
),
)
),
);
}
}
try shape: BoxShape.circle,,
Container(
width: 100,
height: 100,
decoration: BoxDecoration(
border: Border.all(width: 2),
shape: BoxShape.circle,
// You can use like this way or like the below line
//borderRadius: new BorderRadius.circular(30.0),
color: Colors.amber,
),
child:Column(
crossAxisAlignment: CrossAxisAlignment.center,
mainAxisAlignment: MainAxisAlignment.center,
children: <Widget>[
Text('ABC'),
Text('XYZ'),
Text('LOL'),
],
),
),
Output
is this design that you want?
it contain two button and one text widget
body: Center(
child: Container(
margin: EdgeInsets.all(10),
padding: EdgeInsets.all(10),

child: Center(
child: Column(

There are multiple ways to make the border round. As of now you are using fixed height and width always use greater number for border-radius.
For eg.
when your heigh is 200X200 use 150-200 number for border-radius.
here is the code which works fine when you have fixed height and width of the container.
Note: This works only fine when your heigh and width is fixed for the container because the padding in the code is static.If you want dynamic then please use the screen calculation techniques to make if responsive
Making any widget clickable in the Flutter.
There are a couple of Widgets available to make any widget clickable
Gesture Detector
This widget has many methods including onTap() which means you can attach a callback when the user clicks on the widget. For eg (this is used in your code)
GestureDetector(
onTap: (){}, //this is call back on tap
child: Text("Mark Attendance")
)
InkWell Widget (Note: This widget will only work when it is a child of the Material widget)
Material(
child: InkWell(
onTap: (){},
child: Text("Mark Attendance"),
),
)
Here is the working code.
import 'package:flutter/material.dart';
void main(){runApp(MyApp());}
class MyApp extends StatelessWidget {
#override
Widget build(BuildContext context) {
return MaterialApp(
home: Scaffold(
appBar: new AppBar(
title: Text("Student home"),
),
body:Center(
child: Container(
margin: EdgeInsets.all(10),
padding: EdgeInsets.all(10),
width: 200,
height: 200,
child: Column(
mainAxisAlignment: MainAxisAlignment.start,
children: <Widget>[
Padding(
padding: const EdgeInsets.only(bottom:40.0,top: 20.0),
child: Text("Course 1"),
),
Column(
mainAxisAlignment: MainAxisAlignment.spaceEvenly,
children: <Widget>[
Padding(
padding: const EdgeInsets.all(8.0),
child: GestureDetector(
onTap: (){},
child: Text("Mark Attendance")),
),
Padding(
padding: const EdgeInsets.all(8.0),
child:Material(
child: InkWell(
onTap: (){},
child: Text("Mark Attendance"),
),
)
),
],)
],
),
decoration: BoxDecoration(
border:Border.all(width:3),
borderRadius: BorderRadius.all(
Radius.circular(150),
),
color: Colors.yellow,
),
),
)
),
);
} }
Note: Material widget always set the background as white for the text

Thanks, I hope is information was helpfull
I'm trying to create a Container with a curve on the middle top and put a Round Button inside the curve. It should look similar to the Curved Navigation Bar package from Flutter, however, just without the animation.
I've tried to work with Stack and Positioned, however, Flutter doesn't convert it how I imagine it to be.
class CurvedContainerWithButtonAtTopCenter extends StatelessWidget{
#override
Widget build(BuildContext context) {
// TODO: implement build
return Scaffold(
body: Container(
height: 200.0,
child: Stack(
children: <Widget>[
Positioned(
top: 30.0,
right: 0.0,
left: 0.0,
child: Container(
height: 170.0,
width: MediaQuery.of(context).size.width,
margin: EdgeInsets.symmetric(horizontal: 20.0, vertical:
40.0),
color: Colors.blue,
)),
Container(
height: 60.0,
width: 60.0,
decoration: BoxDecoration(
color: Colors.white,
shape: BoxShape.circle),
alignment: FractionalOffset.center,
child: Container(
margin: EdgeInsets.all(10.0),
child: FloatingActionButton(),
)
)
],
)
)
);
}
}
I would expect the Container to take the full width and be positioned a little bit lower. The Circle should be in the Center at the Top Border of the Container. The Circle should also contain a FloatingActionButton.
I hope you've found the answer by now, but just in case... bellow you can find a potential solution:
build function
Widget build(BuildContext context) {
return Scaffold(
body: Center(
child: Text('Hello'),
),
bottomNavigationBar: _navigationDrawer,
floatingActionButton: FloatingActionButton(
backgroundColor: Colors.orange,
child: Icon(Icons.add),
onPressed: () {}),
floatingActionButtonLocation:
FloatingActionButtonLocation.centerDocked);
}
getter for bottom navigation
Widget get _navigationDrawer {
return Container(
height: 80.0,
child: BottomAppBar(
shape: CircularNotchedRectangle(),
child: Row(
mainAxisAlignment: MainAxisAlignment.spaceBetween,
children: <Widget>[
IconButton(
icon: Icon(Icons.home),
onPressed: () {},
),
Padding(
padding: const EdgeInsets.only(right: 50),
child: IconButton(
icon: Icon(Icons.search),
onPressed: () {},
),
),
Padding(
padding: const EdgeInsets.only(left: 50),
child: IconButton(
icon: Icon(Icons.note_add),
onPressed: () {},
),
),
IconButton(
icon: Icon(Icons.portrait),
onPressed: () {},
),
],
)),
);
}
And the result
Hope this helps :) Happy coding !!!
I want to know that how can I set a width to match parent layout width
new Container(
width: 200.0,
padding: const EdgeInsets.only(top: 16.0),
child: new RaisedButton(
child: new Text(
"Submit",
style: new TextStyle(
color: Colors.white,
)
),
colorBrightness: Brightness.dark,
onPressed: () {
_loginAttempt(context);
},
color: Colors.blue,
),
),
I know about little bit on Expanded widget but Expanded expands view to both direction, i dont know how to do it.
Update:
With Flutter 2.0 RaisedButton is deprecated and replaced by ElevatedButton. you can use minimumSize like this:
ElevatedButton(
style: ElevatedButton.styleFrom(
minimumSize: Size.fromHeight(40), // fromHeight use double.infinity as width and 40 is the height
),
onPressed: () {},
child: Text('Text Of Button'),
)
Old answer for Flutter less than 2.0:
The correct solution would be to use the SizedBox.expand widget, which enforces its child to match its parent's size.
SizedBox.expand(
child: RaisedButton(...),
)
There are many alternatives, which allows for more or less customization:
SizedBox(
width: double.infinity,
// height: double.infinity,
child: RaisedButton(...),
)
or using a ConstrainedBox
ConstrainedBox(
constraints: const BoxConstraints(minWidth: double.infinity),
child: RaisedButton(...),
)
Container(
width: double.infinity,
child: RaisedButton(...),
),
After some research, I found out some solution, and thanks to #Günter Zöchbauer,
I used column instead of Container and
set the property to column CrossAxisAlignment.stretch to Fill match parent of Button
new Column(
crossAxisAlignment: CrossAxisAlignment.stretch,
children: <Widget>[
new RaisedButton(
child: new Text(
"Submit",
style: new TextStyle(
color: Colors.white,
)
),
colorBrightness: Brightness.dark,
onPressed: () {
_loginAttempt(context);
},
color: Colors.blue,
),
],
),
The size attribute can be provided using ButtonTheme with minWidth: double.infinity
ButtonTheme(
minWidth: double.infinity,
child: MaterialButton(
onPressed: () {},
child: Text('Raised Button'),
),
),
or after https://github.com/flutter/flutter/pull/19416 landed
MaterialButton(
onPressed: () {},
child: SizedBox.expand(
width: double.infinity,
child: Text('Raised Button'),
),
),
The simplest way is to use a FlatButton wrapped inside a Container, The button by default takes the size of its parent and so assign a desired width to the Container.
Container(
color: Colors.transparent,
width: MediaQuery.of(context).size.width,
height: 60,
child: FlatButton(
shape: new RoundedRectangleBorder(
borderRadius: new BorderRadius.circular(30.0),
),
onPressed: () {},
color: Colors.red[300],
child: Text(
"Button",
style: TextStyle(
color: Colors.black,
fontFamily: 'Raleway',
fontSize: 22.0,
),
),
),
)
Output:
You can set match parent of the widget by
1) set width to double.infinity :
new Container(
width: double.infinity,
padding: const EdgeInsets.only(top: 16.0),
child: new RaisedButton(
child: new Text(
"Submit",
style: new TextStyle(
color: Colors.white,
)
),
colorBrightness: Brightness.dark,
onPressed: () {
_loginAttempt(context);
},
color: Colors.blue,
),
),
2) Use MediaQuery:
new Container(
width: MediaQuery.of(context).size.width,
padding: const EdgeInsets.only(top: 16.0),
child: new RaisedButton(
child: new Text(
"Submit",
style: new TextStyle(
color: Colors.white,
)
),
colorBrightness: Brightness.dark,
onPressed: () {
_loginAttempt(context);
},
color: Colors.blue,
),
),
#Mohit Suthar,
Found one of the best solution for match parent to width as well as height as below
new Expanded(
child: new Container(
padding: EdgeInsets.all(16.0),
margin: EdgeInsets.all(16.0),
decoration: new BoxDecoration(
color: Colors.white,
borderRadius:
const BorderRadius.all(const Radius.circular(8.0)),
border: new Border.all(color: Colors.black, width: 1.0)),
child: new Text("TejaDroid")),
),
Here you can check that the Expanded Controller acquire whole remain width and height.
For match_parent you can use
SizedBox(
width: double.infinity, // match_parent
child: RaisedButton(...)
)
For any particular value you can use
SizedBox(
width: 100, // specific value
child: RaisedButton(...)
)
The simplest way to give match-parent width or height in the given code above.
...
width: double.infinity,
height: double.infinity,
...
There are many ways to make full width button. But I think you should understand the concept of making full width widgets in different scenarios:
When you are using nested widgets then it is hard to identify width of parent widget. Simply you can't specify width in nested widgets. So you should use either Expanded or Column with CrossAxisAlignment as Strech.
In other cases, you can use media query width or double.infinity.
Here are some examples for Nested widgets and single widget:
First:
Expanded( // This will work for nested widgets and will take width of first parent widget.
child: MaterialButton(
onPressed: () {},
child: const Text("Button Text"),
color: Colors.indigo,
textColor: Colors.white,
)
)
Second:
Column( // This will not work if parent widget Row.
crossAxisAlignment: CrossAxisAlignment.stretch,
children: <Widget>[
MaterialButton(
onPressed: () {},
child: const Text("Button Text"),
color: Colors.indigo,
textColor: Colors.white,
)
]
)
Third:
ButtonTheme( // if use media query, then will not work for nested widgets.
minWidth: double.infinity, //Or use 'width: MediaQuery.of(context).size.width'
child: MaterialButton(
onPressed: () {},
child: const Text("Button Text"),
color: Colors.indigo,
textColor: Colors.white,
)
)
Forth:
SizedBox( // if use media query, then will not work for nested widgets.
width: double.infinity, //Or use 'width: MediaQuery.of(context).size.width'
child: MaterialButton(
onPressed: () {},
child: const Text("Button Text"),
color: Colors.indigo,
textColor: Colors.white,
)
)
Fifth:
Container( // if use media query, then will not work for nested widgets.
width: double.infinity, //Or use 'width: MediaQuery.of(context).size.width'
child: MaterialButton(
onPressed: () {},
child: const Text("Button Text"),
color: Colors.indigo,
textColor: Colors.white,
)
)
From my point of view, recommended will be the First one. Also you can change MaterialButton to ElevatedButton or TextButton or RaisedButton (Depreciated) or any other widget.
Cheers!
you can do that with MaterialButton
MaterialButton(
padding: EdgeInsets.all(12.0),
minWidth: double.infinity,
onPressed: () {},
child: Text("Btn"),
)
You can set the fixedSize.width of the ButtonStyle to a very large number, like double.maxFinite. You can also use Size.fromWidth() constructor if you don't want to specify the height:
ElevatedButton(
child: const Text('Button'),
style: ElevatedButton.styleFrom(
fixedSize: const Size.fromWidth(double.maxFinite),
),
),
Live Demo
The most basic approach is using Container by define its width to infinite. See below example of code
Container(
width: double.infinity,
child:FlatButton(
onPressed: () {
//your action here
},
child: Text("Button"),
)
)
OutlineButton(
onPressed: () {
logInButtonPressed(context);
},
child: Container(
width: MediaQuery.of(context).size.width / 2,
child: Text(
“Log in”,
textAlign: TextAlign.center,
),
),
)
Something like this works for me.
The Following code work for me
ButtonTheme(
minWidth: double.infinity,
child: RaisedButton(child: Text("Click!!", style: TextStyle(color: Colors.white),), color: Colors.pink, onPressed: () {}))
This is working for me in a self contained widget.
Widget signinButton() {
return ButtonTheme(
minWidth: double.infinity,
child: new FlatButton(
onPressed: () {},
color: Colors.green[400],
textColor: Colors.white,
child: Text('Flat Button'),
),
);
}
// It can then be used in a class that contains a widget tree.
This is working for me.
SizedBox(
width: double.maxFinite,
child: RaisedButton(
materialTapTargetSize: MaterialTapTargetSize.shrinkWrap,
child: new Text("Button 2"),
color: Colors.lightBlueAccent,
onPressed: () => debugPrint("Button 2"),
),
),
RaisedButton(
child: Row(
mainAxisAlignment: MainAxisAlignment.center,
children: [Text('Submit')],
)
)
It works for me.
With Flutter 2.0 RaisedButton is deprecated and replaced by ElevatedButton.
minimumSize property of ElevatedButton widget exactly does that.
Example code:
ElevatedButton(
style: ElevatedButton.styleFrom(
primary: Colors.green,
onPrimary: Colors.white,
shadowColor: Colors.greenAccent,
elevation: 3,
shape: RoundedRectangleBorder(
borderRadius: BorderRadius.circular(20.0)),
minimumSize: Size(100, 40), //////// HERE
),
onPressed: () {},
child: Text('MyButton'),
)
new SizedBox(
width: 100.0,
child: new RaisedButton(...),
)
Using a ListTile also works as well, since a list fills the entire width:
ListTile(
title: new RaisedButton(...),
),
This one worked for me
width: MediaQuery.of(context).size.width-100,
Wrap your (child widget having a fixed width) with a center widget. This will center your widget:
Center(child:Container(width:250,child:TextButton(child:Text("Button Name),),)
TextButton(
style: ButtonStyle(
backgroundColor: MaterialStateProperty.all(Colors.blue),
fixedSize: MaterialStateProperty.all(
Size(double.maxFinite, 50.0),
),
),
onPressed: () {},
child: Text('Upgrade to Premium'),
),
TRY
Flexible(
child: Row(
children: [
ElevatedButton(
onPressed: () {},
child: Text("love you}"),
),
],
),
),
