Is there a way to use Python to access IPhone camera resolution? - iphone

I know you can use objective-c to access it, but wondering is there any Python module that let us do the same thing?

If you're using pythonista app on your iphone, there is photos library.
※ You can browse other libraries here.
Photos library can provide you such API as
capture_image(camera='rear')
get_metadata(image_index=-1)
※ Unfortunately, there is no info about resolution. At least I didn't find.
and so on
But it doesn't provide you direct access to camera resolution.

Facebook API & Adobe Air/Flash Support

I'm currently struggling with a problem that has arose with using the Facebook Graph API and integrating it with Adobe Air.
I've tried everything. I've tried linkage with amfphp and I've tried classes. I've downloaded the Adobe/Facebook swc but I'm just wondering if anybody could point me in the right direction if I wanted to use the Flash CS6 timeline to link with the API (As most tutorials are using classes or .as files) and just using it in general in Flash CS6. It is an Air For iOS app so I want to use the Mobile api and I just want to be able to create it within the Flash timeline. Your support is greatly appreciated & any links that point to the right direction are greatly appreciated!
First of all you should know a bit how flash works (if you don't) and will be so easy to understand the differences between the code in timeline and the code structured in classes or .as files as you said. I left you a little resource i hope it helps.

With the flash API, you have to import the .swc library (in your case the GraphAPI_Mobile_1_8_1.swc) in your .fla document and after that you will be able to access to the functions of the library from your code doing the respective calls FB.login() etc etc.
Here there is a SO answer that explains you how to import the library:
How to properly use .SWC packages in Flash CS 4
I hope it helps you to solve your problems.

iPhone app programming

I've built a few iPhone web apps using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery, PHP, and SQL Queries. However, I haven't found a way to access the camera with a web app. If you know of a way to do that, please tell me what to use and how to use it. If there is no way to access the camera with a web app, I realize I'll have to make a regular app. What languages should I start to learn? Instagram is a website, so I'm not entirely sure how they did what they did.
So my question is, if I wanted to built an app similar to instagram (where I could access the camera), where should I begin?
What languages should I learn?
Thanks ahead of time.
PhoneGap might be the right tool for you.
PhoneGap is an HTML5 app platform that allows you to author native
applications with web technologies and get access to APIs and app
stores.
See this reference on its camera API.

iPhone: Access Camera and Album from Web app

I want to develop a web app using html5, js. One of the feature is to launch device Camera and record video, take a picture and access photo album. Is it possible to access via web app if i develop? I saw in the forums that, it is saying not possible in some places and it is possible in some places. I would like to know, is it really possible to access directly camera and album etc. ?
Please suggest!
Thank you!
It's not possible to access phone camera using Web app, as the "Web APP" typically runs in the browser of device.
Though there are some frameworks (like Phonegap) allows you to embedd your web app into native container. With this approach and added libraries from such framework you can access some of those native API's and Device Hardware.
One Possible solution is,
Create one app and distribute it using app store
using your webapp, you can connect to above app using url-scheme
http://code.google.com/p/iphone-photo-picker/
go to above link, where you can find complete code for it.

How to create an iPhone app that interacts with my website?

What I want to do is to make an iPhone application for my website similar to the photofunia. The users will be able to select an effect from a list, and then upload their own photo. Then the result will be shown in the browser where the user can save the image and/or publish to website like facebook, etc.
What software can I use to do that? Phonegap, appcelerator, etc? Can some of these help?
Thanks.
First of all, you may be able to make an iPhone app using Adobe Flash and the Adobe Packager for iPhone.
The other option is to get a Mac and Learn Objective-C.
There is no "easy" solution here.
Create a webservice for your website and try to use that in your iPhone Application
Of course I know there is no "easy" solution, but I'm almost sure there are other options for making iphone apps, instead of using Objective-C.
I only don't know the name of the tools.
Flash doesn't works. Adobe Air currently doesn't offer a way to access the camera roll on the ios.

iPhone app that access the Core Location framework over web

I was wondering if I could access the iPhones Core Location framework over a website?
My goal is to build a webapp/website that the iPhone would browse to, then upload its current GPS location. This would be a simple site primary for friends/family so we could locate each other. I can have them manually enter lng/lat but its not the easiest thing to find. If the iPhone could display or upload this automatically it would be great.
I don't own a Mac yet (waiting for the new Mac Book Pro) but would like something a little more automatic right now. Once I have the mac I could download the SDK and build a better version later. For now a webapp version would be great if possible. Thanks.
Why not simply use W3C GeoLocation API available in mobile Safari? This will work on ipod touch as well (suburb precision).
It's literally 10 lines of code and the javascript will work without change on Firefox 3.5. Far easier than scrape some third party website.

iPhone App store
While this may not directly answer your question, there are quite a few iPhone apps that already do this kind of thing with GPS. Instamapper is the first one I pulled up from the app store, but I'm sure you could find something to fit your needs.
I'm pretty sure you can't do what you want directly.
The best idea I can come up with is to "reuse" an iPhone app that records location and makes it accessible on the web. Take Twitter for example. If I'm not mistaken, Tapulous' app Twinkle will grab your location and post it to your Twitter.com user profile. Here's an example of what that looks like:
From your webapp, you could then scrape the user page for each person whose location you're interested in. It's a pain in the butt, but like I said, this is the best I could come up with.
Again, if you don't want to mess with Twitter, there may be other apps out there that do this as well, but I don't personally know of any. Good luck.
We built a really thin iphone client app that simply calls a predefined .js file on our site. Works like a charm.
See arisgames.org for the project.
