How to moving fields in forms of ncurses - forms

I've written a program in C using ncurses and specially forms. I need that a particular field of my form moves as I'm filling the form. I tried move_field, but it doesn't work.
Here is how I wrote it :
if (typact==ADSD && rowc>rowg )
{
move_field(field[ietg],rowg=rowc,colg);
refresh();
}
I'm sure that the move_field is executed (I use xCode for debugging my program). I presume that refresh is not sufficient. I tried also placing move_field between unpost_form and post_form like this:
if (typact==ADSD && rowc>rowg /* && !field_status(field[ietg]) */ )
{ unpost_form(my_form);
move_field(field[ietg],rowg=rowc,colg);
post_form(my_form); refresh();
}
but it doesn't work once again. The form is erased and re-posted without the texts I have written and the field is always in the same place.
How could I use move_field?

The manual page says
The function move_field moves the given field (which must be disconnected) to a specified location on the screen.
You can disconnect a field by retrieving the current list of fields with form_fields (and its length using field_count), removing the field from that list and updating the list using set_form_fields.
When using move_field, you must also (temporarily) unpost the form with unpost_form. Otherwise, move_field returns E_POSTED (The form is already posted). After moving the field, use post_form to get the form-driver to work with the updated form.
The test/move_field.c file in ncurses sources provides an example of these calls.

Remove submitted state in submission handler

I am trying to reset a form so that it appears to Drupal 8 that it hasn't been submitted. So far I have been unable to do this, as I cannot find any available methods (setSubmitted() hardcodes it to TRUE without a FALSE option). The reason is this isn't a full submit, but a submit of one field after which I would like the user to be redirected to another page that has another form, and I would like this secondary form to use the value obtained in the first step.
In the submit handler for the first part I use this to redirect:
$form_state->setRedirect('my.route', [], []);
And this works, but when the form reaches the second form (it seems) that the second form thinks it is a submission. As a result any submit buttons I add to the second form seem to make it auto-submit, and this breaks my user journey.
In the submit for the first part I have tried:
$form_state->setRebuild(TRUE);
$form_state = new FormState();
unset($form_state);
Tried the above in various configurations to no avail. They all prevent/ignore the setRedirect call that I make afterwards. The reason I want/need to do it this way is I want to preserve the POST method used.
Do you want to obtain something similar to what core search module does? It has simple SearchBlockForm that sends data to more complex SearchPageForm.
SearchBlockForm uses GET method (though you may use POST):
$form['#method'] = 'get';
and has no id and token fields:
function search_form_search_block_form_alter(&$form, FormStateInterface $form_state) {
$form['form_build_id']['#access'] = FALSE;
$form['form_token']['#access'] = FALSE;
$form['form_id']['#access'] = FALSE;
}
BTW, the last change allows you to avoid running submit callbacks.
Hope this helps.

writing a Jacada Interaction extension

I want to create an "extension" for a Jacada Interaction (to extend functionality), in my case to parse and assign the numerical part of serialNumber (a letter, followed by digits) to a numeric global ("system") variable, say serialNumeric. What I am lacking is the structure and syntax to make this work, including the way to reference interaction variables from within the extension.
Here is my failed attempt, with lines commented out to make it innocuous after failing; I think I removed "return page;" after crashing, whereupon it still crashed:
initExtensions("serialNumeric", function(app){
app.registerExtension("loaded", function(ctx, page) {
// Place your extension code here
//$('[data-refname="snum"]').val('serialNumber');
// snum = Number(substring(serialNumber,1))
});
});
Here is an example of one that works:
/**
* Description: Add swiping gestures to navigate the next/previous pages
*/
initExtensions("swipe", function(app) {
// Swipe gestures (mobile only)
app.registerExtension('pageRenderer', function(ctx, page) {
page.swipe(function(evt) {
(evt.swipestart.coords[0] - evt.swipestop.coords[0] > 0)
? app.nextButton.trigger('click')
: app.backButton.trigger('click')
});
return page;
});
});
After reading the comment below, I tried the following, unsuccessfully (the modified question variable is not written back to that variable). It rendered poorly in the comment section, so I am putting it here:
initExtensions("serialNumeric", function(app){
app.registerExtension("loaded", function(ctx, page) {
var sernum = new String($('[data-refname="enter"] input'));
var snumeric = new String(sernum.substr(1));
$('[data-refname="enter"] input').val(snumeric);
});
});
I would like to understand when this code will run: it seems logical that it would run when the variable is assigned. Thanks for any insight ~
In your case, you extend loaded event. You don't have to return the page from the extension like in your working example below.
The page argument contains the DOM of the page you have just loaded, the ctx argument contains the data of the page in JSON form. You can inspect the content of both arguments in the browser's inspection tools. I like Chrome. Press F12 on Windows or Shift+Ctrl+I on Mac.
The selector $('[data-refname="snum"] input') will get you the input field from the question with the name snum that you defined in the designer. You can then place the value in the input field with the value from the serialNumber variable.
$('[data-refname="snum"] input').val(serialNumber);
You can also read values in the same way.
You can't (at this point) access interaction variables in the extension, unless you place theses variables inside question fields.
Here is a simple example how to put your own value programmatically into a input field and cause it to read it into the model, so upon next it will be sent to the server. You are welcome to try more sophisticated selectors to accommodate for your own form.
initExtensions("sample", function(app){
app.registerExtension("loaded", function(ctx, page) {
// simple selector
var i = $('input');
// set new value
i.val('some new value');
// cause trigger so we can read into our model
i.trigger('change');
});
});

Get field values in record.js

I override the record view, by creating in custom/modules/myModule/clients/base/views/record/record.js this file record.js. I want to get the value of a field for the current object and I use this.model.get('duration'), but I get nothing.The only field available is "id". How can I retrieve the values for others fileds?
When the record.js script is initially called, the model won't have fully loaded, so the only available field with be the id.
Your best bet is probably to override the _renderHtml function; by the the time the view is being rendered all the model details will have fully loaded:
_renderHtml: function() {
// custom code involving this.model.get('duration')
// call parent
app.view.View.prototype._renderHtml.call(this);
}
Note that you may find _renderHtml is called multiple times, sometines before the model is fully loaded. This is just a quirk of Sugar so it may be best to add a check in your code:
if (this.model.get('duration')) {
// custom code involving this.model.get('duration')
}
Dont forget that app.model.get('myfield') only delivers the right content (from this field) when your field is already displayed in detailview - else you will get "undefined"!
So you
Have to call the rest api (rest/v10/yourmodel/yourid) - than you
have all the values available
Display your fields (even you dont want to) to be able to use it in app.model.get('yourfield'), an alternative you could append your record.js (after rendering) with $('div [data-name="yourfield"]').hide();
I know this question is quite old already (but if someone else run into this he could find this useful).

user_work_history with Flex and the ActionScript SDK

I'm working on a sample app for Facebook, using Flash Builder and Flex.
Now, I've got everything up and running - but there's one problem, specifically with the work history part.
When I try to display the user's work history..here's the code for logging in:
protected function login():void
{
FacebookDesktop.login(loginHandler, ["user_birthday", "user_work_history"]);
}
Here, loginHandler's a callback function, that then goes ahead and displays data about the user:
protected function loginHandler(success:Object,fail:Object):void
{
if (success){
currentState = "LoggedIn";
fname.text = success.user.name;
userImg.source=FacebookDesktop.getImageUrl(success.uid,"small");
birthdayLbl.text=success.user.birthday;
workLbl.text=success.user.work;
}
}
Now, the problem occurs with success.user.work - it ends up printing the following:
[object,Object],[object,Object],[object,Object],[object,Object]
Obviously, I'm doing something wrong..but I can't figure out what exactly it is. Would be grateful for some pointers!
Thanks!
Rudi.
The object contained in success.user.work is most likely an array of objects, each item representing a work period, so you'll have to treat it as such. Either use a list and a custom renderer for each item, or create a string by iterating over the array, and appending the fields that you're interested in.
To see what the individual objects contain, either use a breakpoint during debug and inspect them, or check to see if they're documented in the facebook development documentation.

root gets auto created in gwt app

Hi
I wrote code in one of the entry point class as:
if(RootPanel.get("fb-root") != null)
form = new BloodDonorForm(Constants.INSERT, null, Constants.FACEBOOK, Constants.BLOOD_DONOR_REGISTER_FORM);
else
form = new BloodDonorForm(Constants.INSERT, null, null, Constants.BLOOD_DONOR_REGISTER_FORM);
This used to work fine sometime back for sure (don't remember when I checked this last time). But now when I run the page in Firefox with firebug enabled I see the message like:
The "fb-root" div has not been created, auto-creating
So why is this done if it does not exist? I am sure I have tested this in past and this was not happening earlier.
This may be a change in GWT itself. That said, this isn't the best way to check for a dom element existing.
Instead, use Document.get().getElementById(String) to check for an element by id, and compare that with null. This will compile down to something very simple (probably just $doc.getElementById(id)), and won't create a widget yet (RootPanel is a widget) and the overhead that comes with that.
