How to put a floating widget in flutter? - flutter

What I want to do is make a TextField stay in the same position by scrolling down the screen. I want to know if there is a way to do this?
This is the TextField that I want to be floating:
This is the code, the CardWidget are just cards and searchInput is the textField:
class RouteListPage extends StatefulWidget {
#override
_RouteListPageState createState() => _RouteListPageState();
}
class _RouteListPageState extends State<RouteListPage> {
TextEditingController searchController = new TextEditingController();
#override
Widget build(BuildContext context) {
final _screenSize = MediaQuery.of(context).size;
return Scaffold(
body: SingleChildScrollView(
child: Column(
children: <Widget>[
searchInput(),
CardWidget(),
CardWidget(),
CardWidget(),
CardWidget(),
SizedBox(height: 25.0)
],
),
),
);
}
Widget searchInput(){
return Container(
margin: EdgeInsets.symmetric(horizontal: 24, vertical: 25.0),
padding: EdgeInsets.symmetric(horizontal: 24),
decoration: BoxDecoration(
color: Color(0xfff6f6f6),
borderRadius: BorderRadius.circular(30),
boxShadow: <BoxShadow>[
BoxShadow(
color: Colors.black45,
offset: Offset(0.0, 2.0),
blurRadius: 10.0,
),
],
),
child: Row(
children: <Widget>[
Expanded(
child: TextField(
controller: searchController,
decoration: InputDecoration(
hintText: "Buscar rutas",
hintStyle: TextStyle(fontFamily: "WorkSansSemiBold", fontSize: 16.0),
border: InputBorder.none
),
)
),
InkWell(
onTap: () {},
child: Container(
child: Icon(Icons.search, color: Tema.Colors.loginGradientEnd, size: 28.0)
)
)
],
),
);
}
}

You can use a Stack widget and have the scrolling widget below the TextField widget. Use the Positioned widget to control the position of searchInput()
Your build method will change to this:
#override
Widget build(BuildContext context) {
final _screenSize = MediaQuery.of(context).size;
return Scaffold(
body: Stack(
children: <Widget>[
SingleChildScrollView(
child: Column(
children: <Widget>[
CardWidget(),
CardWidget(),
CardWidget(),
CardWidget(),
SizedBox(height: 25.0)
],
),
),
Positioned(
top: 24.0,
left: 0.0,
right: 0.0,
child: searchInput(),
)
],
),
);
}

Instead of SingleChildScrollView try using this
Stack(
children: <Widget>[
searchInput(),
ListView(
children: <Widget>[
CardWidget(),
CardWidget(),
CardWidget()
],
)
],
),

Use a Stack and add your scrollview and the input as children:
Stack(
children: [
SingleChildScrollView(),
searchInput(),
],
)

Firstly I would prefer having data from Future instead of <Widget> and will avoid forEach method to handle complex and bigger computation.
Lets processed with current condition of code-structure. According to your question, main issue is using ListView/GridView.
While SingleChildScrollView is handling the scroll, use GridView.count or ListView
shrinkWrap: true,
physics: NeverScrollableScrollPhysics(),
About the top level-column
body: SafeArea(
child: SingleChildScrollView(
child: Column(
crossAxisAlignment: CrossAxisAlignment.center,
mainAxisSize: MainAxisSize.min, // set min
children: <Widget>[
To check error, define states of FutureBuilder
child: FutureBuilder<List<Widget>>(
initialData: [Text("")],
future: createList(context),
builder: (context, snapshot) {
if (snapshot.connectionState == ConnectionState.waiting)
return Text("Loading");
if (snapshot.hasError) {
return Text("Error ${snapshot.error}");
}
if (snapshot.hasData) {
return Padding(
padding: EdgeInsets.all(8.0),
child: GridView.count(
childAspectRatio: 1 // items' width/height
crossAxisCount: 3,
shrinkWrap: true,
physics: NeverScrollableScrollPhysics(),
children: [
...snapshot.data!,
],
),
To load JSON, I've used like String dataString = await rootBundle.loadString("json/data.json");
To handle item size use childAspectRatio.
Assuming you don't have issue with loading images/BannerWidgetArea() widgets.
Does it solve the issue?

Flutter: How can i put the text widget center in screen

I need to put the title' in the center even to fit any screen, I know can I sized box to move the title in the center, but when using the different device the dimensions surely will change and become the title the different places.
this is code :
class NotificationDoctor extends StatelessWidget {
TextStyles textStyles = TextStyles.HEADING;
Texts texts;
#override
Widget build(BuildContext context) {
return MaterialApp(
home: Scaffold(
body: Container(
decoration: BoxDecoration(
color: Theme.of(context).primaryColorDark,
borderRadius: BorderRadius.only(bottomLeft: Radius.circular(15.0))),
height: 130.h,
child: Padding(
padding: EdgeInsets.only(top: 40.h),
child: Column(
mainAxisAlignment: MainAxisAlignment.center,
children: [
Padding(
padding: EdgeInsets.only(
right: 15.w,
top: 15.h,
),
child: Row(
crossAxisAlignment: CrossAxisAlignment.center,
mainAxisAlignment: MainAxisAlignment.start,
children: [
FlatButton(
child: ArrowIcon(
arrowColor: Color(0xFFEEF4F9),
backgroundColor:
Theme.of(context).primaryColor.withOpacity(.9),
),
onPressed: () {
Navigator.pop(context);
},
),
// SizedBox(
// width: 55,
// ),
Center(
child: Texts(
'Notifications',
style: TextStyles.HEADING,
color: Color(0xFFEEF4F9),
),
),
],
),
),
],
),
),
),
));
}
}
use the padding like this
Padding(
padding: EdgeInsets.symmetric(vertical: 5.h, horizontal: 3.h),
child: Container(),
);

Why every time I add a ListView to my Column all widgets disappear?

I'm making a Flutter Web App and I have something like this
class _HomeViewState extends State<HomeView> {
#override
Widget build(BuildContext context) {
var posts = Provider.of<List<Post>>(context);
List<int> l =[1,2,3,4];
return Scaffold(
backgroundColor: Colors.white,
appBar: TheAppBaar,
body: SingleChildScrollView(
scrollDirection: Axis.vertical,
child: Container(child: Padding(
padding: EdgeInsets.all(20.0),
child: Column(
children: [
CreatePost(connUserUid: widget.user.uid, connUserImage:
userFetched.get('profileImage').toString(),
connUserFullname: userFetched.get('fullName').toString(),),
SizedBox(height: 10,),
ListView.separated(itemBuilder: (BuildContext context, int
index) {
return Container(
height: 150,
child: Text('${l[index]}'),
);
},
separatorBuilder:
(BuildContext context, int index) => Divider(),
itemCount: l.length)
],
),
),
),
),
);
}
}
Every time I want to display a ListView with those posts fetched or anything, the method Create Post and that Sized Box disappear and the list is not displayed either.
#override
Widget build(BuildContext context) {
return Align(
alignment: Alignment.center,
child: Container(
width: 400,
decoration: BoxDecoration(
color: Colors.white,
borderRadius: BorderRadius.all(Radius.circular(10)),
boxShadow: [BoxShadow(
color:kPrimaryColor.withOpacity(0.2),
spreadRadius: 2,
blurRadius: 3,
offset: Offset(0,3)
)]
),
child: Padding(
padding: EdgeInsets.all(20),
child: Column(
crossAxisAlignment: CrossAxisAlignment.start,
children: [
Align(
alignment: Alignment.center,
child: Container(
height: 50,
child: Image.network(widget.connUserImage),
),
),
Align(
alignment: Alignment.center,
child: Container(width: 30,child: Divider(
color: kPrimaryColor,
thickness: 2,
),),
),
SizedBox(height: 8,),
TextField(
maxLines: 5,
decoration: InputDecoration(
errorText: errorTextMessage,
border: OutlineInputBorder(
borderSide: BorderSide(color: kPrimaryColor)
),
labelText: 'Yadda, Yadda, Yadda...'
),
onChanged: (String value) {
setState(() {
postDescription = value;
errorTextMessage = null;
spinner = false;
});
},
),
SizedBox(height: 12,),
Row(
mainAxisAlignment: MainAxisAlignment.spaceBetween,
children: [
Row(
children: [
IconButton(
icon: Icon(Icons.add_a_photo_rounded, color: Color
(0xFFE53E00),
size:
25,),
onPressed: () {
imagePicker();
},
),
SingleChildScrollView(
scrollDirection: Axis.horizontal,
child: imageInfo == null ? Container() : Text(imageInfo.fileName),
)
],
),
Icon(Icons.pin_drop_rounded, color: Color(0xFF0077e5),
size:
25,),
Icon(Icons.map_rounded, color: Color(0xFF26c118),
size: 25,),
spinner? Padding(
padding: EdgeInsets.all(15.0),
child: CircularProgressIndicator(backgroundColor: kPrimaryColor,),
) :
IconButton(icon:
Icon(Icons
.arrow_forward_ios_outlined,
color:
kPrimaryColor,size: 25,), onPressed: () {
},),
],
)
],
),
),
),
);
}
This is the CreatePost method, just a " card ",
If I make a ListView all disappear, but if in my Column from the first code, I add 1 PostView by 1, they are displayed. I don't understand what's wrong. Should I remove those Align or I don't know. In my console I do not have any errors.
Thank you in advance!

Flutter UI adjacent placement problem and List View Height

I am trying to show some data from the database and my app must contain UI like this.
But I am encountering this kind of problem.
Problems:
The text is overflowing and not wrapping (I tried to use Flexible and Expanded but it produces more exceptions, mostly of non-zero flex and so on)
The list needs fixed height and width, whereas I need height to match_parent. double.infinity don't work as well.
Here is my code:
class CategoryDetailPage extends StatefulWidget {
final Category category;
CategoryDetailPage({Key key, this.category}) : super(key: key);
#override
_CategoryDetailPageState createState() => _CategoryDetailPageState();
}

wrap the second child(Padding) of the first Row with Flexible
wrap the second child(Container) of the second Row with Flexible and remove width: 300 from the container parameters.

and I also used a single child scroll view and column so that I can show my cards in that column of draggableScrollableSheet. But I want draggableScrollableSheet to take height dynamically instead of defining size. Like now I want to show only 2 to 3 cards and that is taking full screen. But I want it to take the minimum height of the screen. How can we achieve this?
I was struggling with this for a while, and then discovered that the correct way to achieve this is to use ClampingScrollPhysics as the physics parameter of the scroll view.
https://api.flutter.dev/flutter/widgets/ClampingScrollPhysics-class.html
I'm a week into Flutter but I found a solution to this. It might be substandard so correct me if I'm wrong.
So what I've done is create a variable called bsRatio for the bottom sheet. This is will be the height of the child view/widget (or bottom sheet content) divide by the height of the parent/screen. This ratio should be set to the maxChildSize and probably even the initialChildSize of your DraggableScrollableSheet.
So in your parent widget or Widget State class add something like this.
class ParentWidget extends StatefulWidget {
ParentWidget({Key? key}) : super(key: key);
#override
State<ParentWidget> createState() => _ParentWidgetState();
}
class _ParentWidgetState extends State<ParentWidget> {
var bsRatio = 0.4; // Set an initial ratio
#override
Widget build(BuildContext context) {
// The line below is used to get status bar height. Might not be required if you are not using the SafeArea
final statusBarHeight = MediaQuery.of(context).viewPadding.top;
// If you are not using SafeArea Widget you can skip subtracting status bar height from the Window height
final windowHeight = MediaQuery.of(context).size.height - statusBarHeight;
// This below is a callback function that will be passed to the child Widget of the DraggableScrollableSheet ->
childHeightSetter(childHeight) {
// setState rebuilds the UI with the new `bsRatio` value
setState(() {
// The new bottom sheet max height ratio is the height of the Child View/Widget divide by the screen height
bsRatio = childHeight / windowHeight;
});
}
return Scaffold(
backgroundColor: Colors.black12,
body: SafeArea(
child: Stack(
children: [
const SomeBackgroundView(),
DraggableScrollableSheet(
initialChildSize: bsRatio, // here you set the newly calculated ratio as the initial height of the Bottom Sheet
minChildSize: 0.2,
maxChildSize: bsRatio, // here you set the newly calculated ratio as the initial height of the Bottom Sheet
snap: true,
builder: (_, controller) {
return LayoutBuilder(builder: (_, box) {
// Added a container here to add some curved borders and decent looking shadows via the decoration property
return Container(
child: SingleChildScrollView(
controller: controller,
// The child view/widget `MyBottomSheet` below is the actual bottom sheet view/widget
child: MyBottomSheet(childHeightSetter: childHeightSetter),
),
decoration: const BoxDecoration(
boxShadow: [
BoxShadow(
color: Colors.grey,
blurRadius: 5.0,
spreadRadius: 2.0
)
],
borderRadius: BorderRadius.all(Radius.circular(20.0))
),
);
});
},
),
],
),
),
);
}
}
And this would be your child view/widget (also your BottomSheet view/widget)
class MyBottomSheet extends StatefulWidget {
// This below is the local callback variable. The `?` is because it may not be set if not required
final ValueSetter<double>? childHeightSetter;
const MyBottomSheet({Key? key, this.childHeightSetter}) : super(key: key);
#override
_MyBottomSheetState createState() => _MyBottomSheetState();
}
class _LoginBottomSheetState extends State<LoginBottomSheet> {
// bsKey is the key used to reference the Child widget we are trying to calculate the height of. Check the `Card` container below
GlobalKey bsKey = GlobalKey();
// this method will me used to get the height of the child content and passed to the callback function so it can be triggered and the ratio can be calculated and set in the parent widget
_getSizes() {
final RenderBox? renderBoxRed =
bsKey.currentContext?.findRenderObject() as RenderBox?;
final cardHeight = renderBoxRed?.size.height;
if (cardHeight != null)
super.widget.childHeightSetter?.call(cardHeight);
}
// This is the function to be called after the Child has been drawn
_afterLayout(_) {
_getSizes();
}
#override
void initState() {
super.initState();
// On initialising state pass the _afterLayout method as a callback to trigger after the child Widget is drawn
WidgetsBinding.instance?.addPostFrameCallback(_afterLayout);
}
#override
Widget build(BuildContext context) {
return Card(
key: bsKey, // This is the key mentioned above used to calculate it's height
color: Colors.white,
shadowColor: Colors.black,
elevation: 40.0,
margin: EdgeInsets.zero,
shape: const RoundedRectangleBorder(
borderRadius: BorderRadius.only(
topLeft: Radius.circular(20.0), topRight: Radius.circular(20.0))),
child: Column(
mainAxisAlignment: MainAxisAlignment.end,
children: [
// Random children for bottom sheet content
const SizedBox(height: 10.0),
Center(
child: Container(
child: const SizedBox(width: 40.0, height: 5.0),
decoration: BoxDecoration(
color: Colors.grey[400],
borderRadius: BorderRadius.circular(5.0)
),
),
),
const SizedBox(height: 10.0),
const AnotherBottomSheetContentView()
],
),
);
}
}
the initialChildSize is the height of your ScrollView before its actually scrolled, so that means you can actually decide what it would look like.
here is an example![the draggable scrollsheet here has initialChildSize: 0.1,maxChildSize: 1,minChildSize: 0.1,
