To make it appear on view appearance:
The following is the code
override func viewDidAppear() {
super.viewDidAppear()
featureScrollView.flashScrollers()
}

How to hide input accessory view?

I have a segmented control in my application where one of the tabs is a chat controller.
I'm using the input accessory view for the toolbar that has the send button and the textfield.
The problem is i can't hide the input accessory view while switching tabs
I tried hiding it, removing it and adjusting the collection view bottom constraint accordingly when it's hidden or not but that didn't work
override var inputAccessoryView: UIView
{
return inputContainerView
}
override func canBecomeFirstResponder() -> Bool {
return true
}

How do you animate a UICollectionView using auto layout anchors?

I'm trying to animate a collectionview by using layout constraints however I cannot get it to work. I have a collectionview that takes up the entire screen and on a button tap I want to essentially move the collectionview up to make room for another view to come in from the bottom - see image below
The incoming UIView animates just fine (the view coming up from the bottom) - The reason I want to move the collectionview is that the incoming UIView obscures the collection view so am just trying to move the collectionview up at the same time as the new view so that all of the content in the collectionview can be displayed without being hidden by the new view - I use a reference view to get the right layout constraints for the final position for the collectionview Image to show what I am trying to achieve Am I going about it the right way?
Nothing happens with the code example below and I am not sure where to go from here - the same approach is used for animating the incoming view and works just fine but doesn't seem to work for the collectionview...
Any help would be kindly appreciated
var colViewBottomToReferenceTop: NSLayoutConstraint?
var colViewBottomToViewBottom: NSLayoutConstraint?
override func viewDidLoad() {
super.viewDidLoad()
colViewBottomToReferenceTop = musicCollectionView.bottomAnchor.constraint(equalTo: referenceView.topAnchor)
colViewBottomToViewBottom = musicCollectionView.bottomAnchor.constraint(equalTo: view.bottomAnchor)
NSLayoutConstraint.active([colViewBottomToViewBottom!])
NSLayoutConstraint.deactivate([colViewBottomToReferenceTop!])
}
func playerShow() {
NSLayoutConstraint.activate([colViewBottomToReferenceTop!])
UIView.animate(withDuration: 0.5, animations: {
self.view.layoutIfNeeded()
})
}
#IBAction func btnTapped(_ sender: UIButton) {
playerShow()
}
You want to deactivate the other before animation
NSLayoutConstraint.deactivate([colViewBottomToViewBottom!])
NSLayoutConstraint.activate([colViewBottomToReferenceTop!])

Modal Panel with rounded corners

I'm wondering if there is a way to display a modal window with rounded corners instead of the default sharp corners. The image shows what corners I'm referring to.
I tried with changing the contentView.layer?.cornerRadius but it didn't work. What can I do to get the result I need?
After working a lot on it, I finally found a solution:
Frist create a new borderless window in your interface builder. Place a custom box in that view and make sure it leaves a bit of space from the top border of the window:
Then add an outlet of that window object in your app delegate:
#IBOutlet weak var saveWindow: NSWindow!
So copy that extension for loading and dismissing a panel as a modal sheet:
extension NSWindow {
public func loadPanel(named: NSWindow) {
named.isOpaque = false
named.backgroundColor = NSColor.clear
named.hasShadow = false
self.beginSheet(named, completionHandler: nil)
}
public func closePanel(named: NSWindow) {
self.endSheet(named)
}
}
You just need to call this two functions if you want to open a panel.
window.loadPanel(named: saveWindow)
And when you're done:
window.closePanel(named: saveWindow)
This is the result:

Pop view controller using Screen edge pan gesture recogniser not following the thumb

As soon as I've added custom bar navigation bar button item I've lost the ability to use the default function to go back. I'd like to have the ability to use "swipe from edge" to go back.
I've added the Edge Pan Gesture Recogniser and connected it to #IBAction, but the dismissing action happens completely as soon as the pan gesture is recognised.
Instead of slowly following my thumb (as seen in other apps), the current view moves out with predefined animation.
How to make the animation following my thumb using Edge Pan Gesture Recogniser?
#IBAction func edgeSwipe(sender: AnyObject) {
navigationController?.popViewControllerAnimated(true)
}
There's no need to add Edge Pan Gesture Recogniser. Following #beyowulf's suggestions I've been able to implement the swipe to go back feature that behaves the same way as the default system implementation does - the views edge follows my thumb as I swipe it to dismiss it.
So I've removed the ScreenEdge Pan Gesture Recogniser from the storyboard and also removed the related #IBAction.
I've made my first view controller to be the delegate for interactivePopGestureRecognizer. Here's the code:
class ViewController: UIViewController {
override func viewDidLoad() {
super.viewDidLoad()
navigationController?.interactivePopGestureRecognizer?.delegate = self
}
}
extension ViewController: UIGestureRecognizerDelegate {
func gestureRecognizerShouldBegin(gestureRecognizer: UIGestureRecognizer) -> Bool {
return navigationController?.viewControllers.count > 1 ? true : false
}
}

NSPopover tooltip color change

Im totally new to drawing in cocoa and the graphics related stuff.I'm making a popover from the StatusItem button when clicked. But anyways the default appearance of the NSPopover is transient in OS X, but what I want is solid black background. So far I managed to do this. Heres my PopOver view Controller, the View object is totally empty yet.
class PopOverController: NSViewController {
#IBOutlet var PopView: PopOver!
override func viewDidLoad() {
super.viewDidLoad();
self.PopView.wantsLayer=true;
// Do view setup here.
}
override func viewWillAppear() {
PopView.layer?.backgroundColor=NSColor.blackColor().CGColor;
}
}
But anyways this code when compiled fills the Popover with the black solid color except that the little triangle's color from which the popover comes out is unchanged. So How can I not only set the content of the popover but also that popping tooltip?
