I already tried sudo apt-get install gvfs-info but it doesn't work. I also tried to update but it is still not working.

Just install the Postgresql on Ubuntu 18.04 and having the error of PostgreSQL client
Warning: No existing local cluster is suitable as a default target.
Please see man pg_wrapper(1) how to specify one.
Error: You must install at least one postgresql-client-<version> package
I tried all the solutions that are on the StackOverflow and other forums but not succeed to solve the error
Following are the solutions that I tried
1. psql --cluster 10/apps [other arguments]
when I try the first solution it give me the error
Error: Invalid version 10 specified with --cluster
2. psql -p 5432
3. sudo apt-get install postgresql-client-10
when try the third solution it shows the following
postgresql-client-10 is already the newest version (10.5-0ubuntu0.18.04).
4. gedit ~/.bashrc
PATH=/usr/local/pgsql/bin:$PATH
export PATH
Can someone tell what the exact solution to solve the error.
Your 3rd solution is almost there, make sure to run sudo apt-get install postgresql-10 too.
I am having a problem installing the uv4l raspicam on my Raspberry Pi 2. I have done everything multiple times according to the instructions in http://www.linux-projects.org/modules/sections/index.php?op=viewarticle&artid=14 and search the web over and over but no solutions.
For me it seems that the first instruction for saving the key goes ok, although I don't know how to verify it. If I check apt-key list, I don't know what there should be..?
After I have added the line to the sources.list and I try to perform apt-get update, it says:
Failed to fetch http://www.linux-projects.org/listing/uv4l_repo/raspbian/dists/jessie/main/binary-armhf/Packages 404 Not Found
I tried to put both wheezy and jessie ending to the sources.list, and even updated my raspbian version in between, because I couldn't get it working but it didn't help.
Failed to fetch http://www.linux-projects.org/listing/uv4l_repo/raspbian/dists/wheezy/main/binary-armhf/Packages 404 Not Found
And after trying to update it was vain to even try further because the install command fails as well:
E: Unable to locate package uv4l
E: Unable to locate package uv4l-raspicam
Any ideas what I am missing??
Thanks!
The OP seems that simply has a typo problem, but IMO the people that arrives here is trying to solve the Unable to locate package uv4l when they run:
sudo apt-get install uv4l
So I'll try to give a more detailed steps on how to solve this problem.
First install the key for the repository where uv4l is located, to do so run:
wget http://www.linux-projects.org/listing/uv4l_repo/lrkey.asc && sudo apt-key add ./lrkey.asc
Then edit the /etc/apt/sources.list and add this repository at the end of the file:
deb http://www.linux-projects.org/listing/uv4l_repo/raspbian/ wheezy main
Finally update the packages list:
sudo apt-get update
And now you can correctly download the uv4l.
sudo apt-get install uv4l
And how stupid can one be...
Remember to write everything correctly raspbian NOT raspian...
After I type and enter the following code it will give an error saying "Unable to fetch some archives, maybe run apt-get update or try with --fix-mixing?"
$ sudo apt-get install libgtk2.0-dev
Please tell me a solution to solve this problem.
Thanks
Solved it by entering the command below in the terminal:
sudo apt-get
I am unable to uninstall qpid from my centos VM.
I have tried following::
-sudo yum erase qpid-cpp-server
-sudo yum remove qpid-cpp-server
But Its not getting uninstall.
The dash before 'sudo' may be preventing the command from being recognized.
Try:
sudo yum remove qpid-cpp-server qpid-tools
anyone know how to fix the problem regarding header file in ubuntu 10.10.
I am executing a sniffing program which makes use of this header file. My system shows libcap package is installed. Still, on compiling the code, an error is coming which reads:
fatal error: pcap.h: No such file or directory
compilation terminated.
Please help me out.
Thanks all:)
The system won't let me correct Eric Fossum's comment, because I lack reputation. There is a typo ("libcap" vs. "libpcap") and his suggested command should read the following:
sudo apt-get install libpcap-dev
sudo apt-get install libpcap0.8-dev
If you are using yum, then
sudo yum install install libpcap-devel
You don't have the pcap.h file in your include path. You need to add the location of pcap.h to your include path when compiling:
-I/path/to/pcap.h
If you're using linuxbrew, you can just brew install libpcap. In my case I was trying to install nethogs and it failed with this error.
First install libpcap:
sudo apt-get install libpcap0.8-dev
then create its shortcut for header file:
ln -s /usr/include/pcap/bpf.h /usr/include/net/bpf.h
