I'm using MySQL Workbench and I am trying to create a routine. However, At the time of creating routine some error comes,then i deleted that routine. Now I synchronize the model with the existing database, the Routine group error is coming, though i remove that routine group. Can anyone help me how to remove this error from Model?
The _SYNTAX_ERROR suffix is added by MySQL Workbench to indicate that it found a syntax error in your routine code. Once you fixed that the name will change back to what you gave it. And then you can also synchronize your model.
I faced the same issue, cause i copy&pasted some c# code into a routine group, and it immediately became invisible by workbench. Synchronization now always reporte errors, even after deleting the whole routine group. The faulty code was stuck somewhere, inaccessible through the Workbench UI.
Just found a solution atm:
Do a regular synchronization and tell Workbench to change the sync-direction on the error entries. This will remove the faulty lines of code, even if they are not accessible through the Workbench UI.

I've just begun using the BIRT report designer for Eclipse to create reports from data in a MySQL database. When attempting to preview the result set from a created data set, I receive the following error:
SQL error #1:You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual
that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to
use near 'OPTION SQL_SELECT_LIMIT=500' at line 1
I understand that this syntax is invalid with MySQL, as it should be
SET SQL_SELECT_LIMIT=500
However, I cannot figure out if/where I can make this correction, as it is added automatically by the report builder when generating the preview.
Furthermore, in the IDE preferences, I have selected the 'No Limits of number of rows to display' option, trying to bypass this statement altogether, but continue to receive the same error, indicating that it still is trying to preview 500 or less rows, even after deleting the first data set definition and remaking it after the option was changed and restarting Eclipse.
If anyone has any suggestions for either changing the syntax or getting the No Limits option to work correctly, I would greatly appreciate it.
Was actually able to figure out the issue with getting the correct syntax thanks to this SO post regarding Netbeans. The MySQL JDBC driver simply needed to be updated. Preview no longer generates depreciated syntax.
I am using Light switch on Azure.
After I modified a column in a record when I click the Save button I got
"Store update, insert, or delete statement affected an unexpected number of rows(0). Entties may have been modified or deleted since entities were loaded, Refresh ObjectStateManager entries.
I use VS 2012 on my dev machine debug this light switch app. it works fine and no errors when I modify the save column on same records then save it.
Is anybody in this forum has idea what could cause this? and how should I work around it?
I suspect the azure machine don't have the same version of EF with my dev machine. but in the Light switch project both client and server reference I could not find the EF is referenced there. So I don't know how I can bring the EF dll on my machine up to Azure machine.
Anybody could give me some suggestion on this?
Thanks
Chris
Usually it's a side effect of Optimistic Concurrency. This article can give you the idea of it in Lightswitch:
LightSwitch 2012 Concurrency Enhancements
When it's working on dev machine and it's not working on Azure, I guess something is not right in your production database.
you can also take a look at Entity framework: affected an unexpected number of rows(0)
Having Instead of insert/update triggers, sometimes SQL server does not report back an IdentityScope for each new inserted/updated row. Therefore EF can not realize the number of affected rows.
Normally, any insert/update into a table with identity column are immediately followed by a select of the scope_identity() to populate the associated value in the Entity Framework. The instead of trigger causes this second step to be missed, which leads to the 0 rows inserted error.
You can change your trigger to be either before or after insert or tweak your trigger by adding following line at the end of it:
select [Id] from [dbo].[TableXXX] where ##ROWCOUNT > 0 and [Id] = scope_identity()

We've been using Entity Framework Code First 5 for a little while now, without major issue.
I've recently discovered that ANY change I make to my model (such as adding a field, or removing a field) means that the Seed method no longer runs leaving my database in an invalid state.
If I reverse the change, the seed method runs fine.
I have tried making changes to varying parts of my model, so it's not the specific change which is relevant.
Anyone know how I can (a) debug what the specific issue is, or (b) come across this themselves and know how to fix it?
UPDATE: After the model change, however many times I query the database it doesn't run the Seed. However, I have found that if I manually run IISRESET, and then re-execute the web service which executes the query it does then run the seed! Anyone know why this would be the case, and why suddenly I need to reset IIS in between the database initialization and the Seed executing?
Many thanks Steve
xlang/s engine event log entry: Failed while creating a X service. Object of type 'Y' cannot be converted to type 'Y'.
This event log entry appears to be the same as what is discussed here:
Microsoft.XLANGs.Core.ServiceCreationException : Failed while creating a ABC service
I've investigated the 2 solutions offered in this post, but neither fixed my problem.
I'm running BizTalk 2010 and am seeing the issue with a uniform sequential convoy. Each instance of the orchestration is initially activated as expected. All the shapes before the second receive shape execute without issue. The problem occurs when the orchestration instance receives its second message. Execution does not proceed beyond the receive shape that corresponds to this second message.
Using the Group Hub page, I can see that the second message is associated with the correct service instance. This service instance is suspended and the error message shown above appears in the event log.
Occasionally (about 1 out of every 5 times), the problem mentioned above does NOT occur. That is, subsequent messages are process by the orchestration. I'm feeding in the same test files each time. Even more interesting...the problem NEVER occurs if I set a break point (in Orchestration Debugger) on a Listen shape just before the second receive shape.
The fact that I don't see the problem when using the debugger makes me wonder if this is a timing issue. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem like I would have much control over the timing.
Does anyone have any idea about how to prevent this problem from occurring?
Thanks
Is there only a single BizTalk host server involved? It wouldn't surprise me if the issue was related to difficulty loading a required assembly from the GAC. If there were multiple BizTalk servers involved, it could be that one of them is the culprit (or only one of them isn't). Of course, it may not be that easy.
An alternative is the second answer on the other question to which you linked, stating to check that a required schema is not deployed more than once. I have had this problem before, and about the only way to figure out that this is what's going on is to look in the BizTalk Admin Console under BizTalk Group > Applications > <AllArtifacts> > Schemas and sort by the Target Namespace to see if there are any two (or more) rows with the same combination of Target Namespace and Root Name.
The issue could also be caused by a schema mismatch, where perhaps an older/different version of a schema is deployed than expected, and a field that is only sometimes there (hence why it sometimes works) causes a mismatch.
These are, of course, just theories, without the ability to look into your environment and see the actual BizTalk artifacts.
I filed this issue with Microsoft. It turns out that "the behavior is actually an existing design limitation with the way the XLANG compiler relies on type wrappers." The issue resulted from an very specific scenario. We had an orchestration with a message variable directly referencing a schema and another message variable referencing a multi-part message type based on the same schema. The orchestration, schema, and multi-part message type were each defined in different projects.
Microsoft suggested that we modify one of the variables so that both referenced the schema or both referenced the MMT. Unfortunately, keeping the variables as they were was critical for us. We discovered (and Microsoft confirmed) that moving the definition of the MMT into the same project as the orchestration resolved the issue as well.
What can be done to resolve the exception:
CrystalDecisions.CrystalReports.Engine.InternalException: Failed to open a rowset.
This is a generic error in Crystal Reports whenever the report query fails. There can be a number of causes. If your report was targeted to a specific database and then the database was changed without updated the report, this can cause it. It can also be caused by something in the query itself failing, such as if the report is based on a stored procedure that doesn't exist on the database against which the report is running. Try verifying the database for the report.
As said this is a generic error, and like all such errors it's a very frustrating one. The problem is that VS 2003 has no preview option for crystal reports so it's hard to track down the source of the problem. So best way to solve this is to create a blank project in vs 2005 or later, import the crystal report, and run preview. You will get a more specific error then.
I had the same issue, and received this error message:
One ore more fields could not be found in the result set. Use Verify Database to update the report.
Error in File filename {9FEE6406-1613-409A-B9BD-C5FDA24E3DEE}.rpt:
The rowset column could not be found.
I was using a stored procedure to collect data for the report, and sure enough I was passing an invalid parameter for the SP. Double check the type and value of the parameters if you are using a SP to populate the report data.
Good luck!
I have also gone through same error with report having sub reports. Issue resolved as i switch to each sub report and make it verify again with database/tables/views.
This is caused by some discrepancy in your relations, like opposite left joins or something similar. CR has also the bad habit to create 'default' links each time you modify the list of tables and views needed for the report. It can even sometimes automatically create recursive links that might not be viewable 'at once' in the relations screen.
If you cannot find which relation(s) is causing the trouble (sometimes it is not so obvious), you'll have to make some trial & errors test by adding/removing tables from your report.
Every time you add a new table in crystal it adds its own links on already linked tables, some times it even links the 2 fields from the same table.
Make sure you know your links in order to go through after you add a table and scroll all tables to see for any links create from to the same table
I received :
CrystalDecisions.CrystalReports.Engine.InternalException was unhandled
Message=The Report Application Server failed
Google brought me here. For those that have similar problems.
For the record: I had a byte[] array with an image and removed the log from the report and the error stopped. I now have to figure out what I have done wrong with the logo.
I had this problem - we use SQL logins for our security (not integrated / DSN connections)
By granting execute permissions to the user for my stored procedure I fixed the problem.
Really, really couldn't hate Crystal more for their exception masking - let this be a lesson to all programmers;
Try
'your code here
Catch
Throw new exception("Hey, here's a really friendly but completely useless error message")
End Try
will result in pain for future developers - DON'T DO IT!
When you verify your database it might tell you that it is up to date, in that case you have two more options to check for:
a) Refreshing the report (a lightning-shaped icon), if you have a problem with a field, such as a SQL Field, it will give you the error and then show you the edit window for the field.
b) Running the query directly on SQL, if there is a problem with the query itself you will also get this message in Crystal but SQL will tell you exactly what went wrong.
Check Changing Crystal Report Database logon information at runtime in VS2005 for help.
Important line in it is:
table.Location = Database & ".dbo." & table.Name
For me, the problem was fixed when I logged of and logged back to the SQL server that the report was connecting to
In your store procedure If you are using
SET NOCOUNT ON;
Then just remove this
--SET NOCOUNT ON;
Now verify your report database, build & run your solution.
