I can I use Number Picker for that?

Use a drop button combo widget. The DropdownButtonFormField holds a collection of YourClassView type objects held in the list listStatusMenuItems. The _currentStatusComboView variable holds the selected value. It is assigned on the onChange event. I use a restful call to load the listStatusMenuItems.
List<DropdownMenuItem> listStatusMenuItems = <DropdownMenuItem>[];
StatusComboView _currentStatusComboView;
_loadStatusCombo() {
Provider.of<Api>(context, listen: false)
.getYourClassViews()
.then((listView) {
setState(() {
listStatusMenuItems =
listView?.map<DropdownMenuItem<YourClassView>>((item) {
return DropdownMenuItem<StatusComboView>(
value: item, child: Text(item.displayValue));
}).toList();
});
});
#override
void initState() {
super.initState();
_loadStatusCombo();
}
DropdownButtonFormField<YourClassView>(
decoration: InputDecoration(
border: OutlineInputBorder(
borderRadius: const BorderRadius.all(
const Radius.circular(5.0),
),
),
filled: true,
hintStyle:
TextStyle(color: Colors.grey[800]),
hintText: "Select a Value",
fillColor: Colors.orange),
items: listStatusMenuItems,
isDense: true,
isExpanded: true,
value: this._currentStatusComboView,
validator: (value) =>
value == null ? 'field required' : null,
onChanged: (StatusComboView value) {
setState(() {
this._currentStatusComboView = value;
});
}),

Using Localization inside a list - Flutter

My application contains localizations (translation "en","ar"), in my translation JSON files there are cities that users will choose while registration process these cities appears in a DropDownButtonFormField widget as follows:
final provincesField = DropdownButtonFormField<String>(
value: dropDownValue,
onChanged: (String? newValue) {
setState(() {
dropDownValue = newValue!;
});
},
items: provinces.map<DropdownMenuItem<String>>((String value) {
return DropdownMenuItem<String>(
value: value,
child: SizedBox(
width: 100.0,
child: Text(value, textAlign: TextAlign.center),
));
}).toList(),
elevation: 4,
decoration: InputDecoration(
prefixIcon: Icon(Icons.flag_circle),
labelText: AppLocalizations.of(context)!.chooseProvinence,
alignLabelWithHint: true,
border: OutlineInputBorder(
borderRadius: BorderRadius.circular(10),
),
),
);
the cities are declared in this list:
List<String> provinces = [
'عمان',
'إربد',
'الزرقاء',
'المفرق',
'الطفيلة',
'عجلون',
'معان',
'الكرك',
'مادبا',
'العقبة',
'البلقاء',
'جرش'
];
String dropDownValue = 'عمان';
what am trying to achieve is that cities will appear to user based on the app language. I have tried to use AppLocalizations.of(context)!.city inside of the list but its not working so i believe there is some way to declare the list values based on localization, ill appreciate any help
Suppose below localizations data is your cities list
English:
"Dhaka" : "Dhaka",
"Chittagong" : "Chittagong",
"Cumilla" : "Cumilla",
"Rajshahi" : "Rajshahi",
"Bhola" : "Bhola",
Arabic:
"Dhaka" : "دكا",
"Chittagong" : "شيتاغونغ",
"Cumilla" : "كوميلا",
"Rajshahi" : "راجشاهي",
"Bhola" : "بولا",
initialize your the localization keys of your cities and dropDownValue
List<String> provinces = [
"Dhaka",
"Chittagong",
"Cumilla",
"Rajshahi",
"Bhola",
];
String dropDownValue = 'Dhaka';
here is the widget. I used getx localization. So I used 'tr' after the child text of DropdownMenuItem. I hope it's can help u.
Widget TestWidget() {
return DropdownButtonFormField<String>(
value: dropDownValue,
onChanged: (String? newValue) {
// To print the value with localization
print(newValue!.tr);
},
items: provinces.map<DropdownMenuItem<String>>((String value) {
return DropdownMenuItem<String>(value: value, child: Text(value.tr));
}).toList(),
elevation: 4,
decoration: InputDecoration(
prefixIcon: Icon(Icons.flag_circle),
labelText: 'Select',
alignLabelWithHint: true,
border: OutlineInputBorder(
borderRadius: BorderRadius.circular(10),
),
),
);
}
If you need to store the city in database or anywhere with localization then you can use it like [dropDownValue.tr]

How to save DropdownButtonFormField value to Firebase real-time database?

I'm using firebase real-time database and I have a form where the user adds the information to the database using it, but I'm stuck with the DropdownButtonFormField, how can I store the value in my database when the form button is pressed?
I used to use the controller when it was TextFormField, but now, I don't know what to do
DropdownButtonFormField(
decoration: InputDecoration(
enabledBorder: OutlineInputBorder(
borderRadius:
BorderRadius.all(Radius.circular(20.0)),
borderSide:
BorderSide(width: 2, color: appColor),
),
labelText: 'Location',
labelStyle: TextStyle(
fontSize: 20, color: Colors.black)),
isExpanded: true,
// Initial Value
value: selectedLocation,
icon: const Icon(
Icons.keyboard_arrow_down,
color: appColor,
),
// Array list of items
items: Locations.map((String items) {
return DropdownMenuItem(
value: items,
child: Text(items),
);
}).toList(),
// After selecting the desired option,it will
// change button value to selected value
onChanged: (String? newLocation) {
setState(() {
selectedLocation = newLocation!;
});
},
),
you get the selectedLocation value and pass that to firebase method. print selectedLocation in the onChange method then when ever you click item in dropdown, the selectedLocation will change.
DatabaseReference ref = FirebaseDatabase.instance.ref("users/123");
await ref.set({
"selectedLocation": selectedLocation ,
});

Flutter IntlPhoneField run function on valid phone number (intl_phone_field)

I'm using the intl_phone_field package to verify phone numbers based on country code.
The IntlPhoneField checks automatically for invalid phone numbers, and prompt a message respectively.
It support onChange, onSubmit and onSaved functions, but does not support an onValid function.
I want to enable/disable a Submit Button, based on package's validate function, Since it already supports many country codes and different phone number lengths.
Widget build(BuildContext context) {
return IntlPhoneField(
autofocus: true,
decoration: const InputDecoration(
labelText: 'Phone Number',
border: OutlineInputBorder(),
counterText: '',
),
initialCountryCode: 'US',
// countries: const ['US'],
);
}
How do I achieve that?
Solved!
I detected validation using the intl_phone_field package by exporting the Country object, which contains the minLength and maxLength of the country code phone number.
Using those parameters I verified the phone number in the onChange function and a function in case of verified phone number.
class PhonePicker extends StatelessWidget {
const PhonePicker({super.key});
#override
Widget build(BuildContext context) {
const _initialCountryCode = 'US';
var _country =
countries.firstWhere((element) => element.code == _initialCountryCode);
return IntlPhoneField(
autofocus: true,
decoration: const InputDecoration(
labelText: 'Phone Number',
border: OutlineInputBorder(),
counterText: '',
),
initialCountryCode: _initialCountryCode,
onChanged: (value) {
if (value.number.length >= _country.minLength &&
value.number.length <= _country.maxLength) {
// Run anything here
}
},
onCountryChanged: (country) => _country = country,
);
}
}
I have opened a pull request with a solution in the GitHub project.
You can a state variable and use validator data to check whether number is valid or not
bool isValid = false;
#override
Widget build(BuildContext context) {
return Column(
children: [
IntlPhoneField(
autofocus: true,
validator: (p0) {
/// logic to validate number
/// isValid =true
},
decoration: const InputDecoration(
labelText: 'Phone Number',
border: OutlineInputBorder(),
counterText: '',
),
initialCountryCode: 'US',
// countries: const ['US'],
),
ElevatedButton(onPressed: isValid ? () {} : null, child: child)
],
);
Also you can use TextEditingController with listener and check data and enable button state. make sure to use setState.

Flutter focusnode problem not working - only by clicking it works

iam using a device that scans barcode , I want after each read the focus to return the TextFormFiled - the code below do the work and I see the cursor is focused on the TextFormFiled but when I read next time its show nothing , I need to manually just click by my finger on the textfiled to activate the focus ,can somebody help me ( the device returned LF after each read)
TextFormField(
decoration: new InputDecoration(
border: new OutlineInputBorder(
borderRadius: const BorderRadius.all(
const Radius.circular(10.0),
),
),
filled: true,
hintStyle: new TextStyle(
color: Colors.grey[800]),
hintText: "Read BarCode",
fillColor: Colors.white70),
focusNode: myFocusNode,
controller: search,
autofocus: true,
maxLines: null,
validator: (value) {
// print(value.toString().runes);
if (value.toString().contains("\n")) {
fetchProducts(value!);
search.text = "";
} else {}
},
),
Use your myFocusNode to activate the focus on textField.
void function(){
/// after scanning is complete call this
focusNode.requestFocus()
}
I pass for this and did solve it like this:
_addItem() {
final isValid = _formKey.currentState?.validate() ?? false;
if (!isValid) {
return;
}
final ean = int.parse(_eanController.text);
listaEan.add(ean);
_eanController.text = '';
setState(() {
WidgetsBinding.instance.addPostFrameCallback((timeStamp) {
_eanFocus.requestFocus();
});
});
}
but in physical scan device, did works fine. without use the addPostFramaCallback.

How to clear selected tags using flutter_tagging?

I need to use tags in my application. For this, I found the flutter_tagging library. My problem is that I do not know how to clear the selected tags when I click on the button.
FlutterTagging(
textFieldDecoration: InputDecoration(
border: OutlineInputBorder(),
hintText: "Tags",
labelText: "Enter tags"),
addButtonWidget: _buildAddButton(),
chipsColor: Colors.pinkAccent,
chipsFontColor: Colors.white,
deleteIcon: Icon(Icons.cancel,color: Colors.white),
chipsPadding: EdgeInsets.all(2.0),
chipsFontSize: 14.0,
chipsSpacing: 5.0,
chipsFontFamily: 'helvetica_neue_light',
suggestionsCallback: (pattern) async {
return await TagSearchService.getSuggestions(pattern);
},
onChanged: (result) {
setState(() {
text = result.toString();
});
},
)
I see two options here:
Fork library and add method that will clear Map _selectedTagValues variable.
Initiate Key taggingKey = UniqueKey() (UniqueKey) in your widget, pass it to FlutterTagging and call key.currentState.reset() when you have to reset it and rebuild whole FlutterTagging widget with their initial state.
