Spring Batch JobLauncher with Parameters in a Remote Partitioner - spring-batch

Question

I am moving my Spring Batch Partitioner from a Local Partitioning (ThreadPool) to a Remote Partitioning.
I started to look into the Pattern published by #Michael Minella https://github.com/mminella/LearningSpringBatch/tree/master/src/remotePartitioning
On his example he launches the slaves with:
java -jar -Dspring.profiles.active=slave target/remote-partitioning-0.0.1-SNAPSHOT.jar
And the master with:
java -jar -Dspring.profiles.active=master target/remote-partitioning-0.0.1-SNAPSHOT.jar
Now, I want to pass a parameter to the Job, so I moved the #Profile to a #Bean that launches the job with a parameter:

Am I missing any set-up when trying to pass a parameter to the JobLauncher? It seems there is a configuration that I am missing in the Spring Integration.

I want to pass a parameter to the Job
You can pass parameters to the job as key/value pairs on the command line:
java -jar myjob.jar param1=value1 param2=value2
so I moved the #Profile to a #Bean that launches the job with a parameter:
You don't need to do that, you can pass parameters to the job as mentioned above, something like:
java -jar -Dspring.profiles.active=master target/remote-partitioning-0.0.1-SNAPSHOT.jar time=$(date +%s)
As a side a note, I would like to clarify a confusion you seem to have based on your code here:

This snippet means you are defining a Spring bean of type JobExecution in the application context. This bean will be created by Spring when configuring your application context, which is too early to run a job. A bean definition method should only configure the bean, something like:

By the way, the sample from Michael's repository uses #EnableBatchProcessing, which configures the JobLauncher automatically.
