I have some use-cases related to Facebook social plugins . Basically, these all plugins from Facebook are for web development. But I need these for my flutter apps. Three of the use-cases are -
Use-Case 1: I want to reward some points to my users if they invite others to link my app's Facebook page.
Use-Case 2: I want to reward some points to my users if they like my app's Facebook page.
Use-Case 3: I want to reward some points to my users if they share their score with screenshots taken by the app automatically to their News feeds. (Although I got some plugins for this but they didn't look handy to me as there are no success callbacks to prevent spam that if the user really shared the score with a screenshot. I also observed that these plugins only share captions or screenshots at a time but not togetherly)

The fairly new addition of the Facebook app center raises a question for me. I have a facebook connect site. App Center allows websites to be listed there as well as canvas apps. I see sites like Pinterest are there and they have ratings (1-5 stars). The app center listing process even requires that you have a certain rating and enough positive feedback before they will list your app publicly. I do not see any API or social plugin to allow my site visitors to rate the site. How do these other sites have a rating?
There is no API to rate an app at the moment, instead Facebook randomly ask users to rate apps they've used based on a variety of criteria.
The primary reason for this is to make it harder to manipulate the ratings so users can have confidence that the score they see is accurate.
I'm interested in creating an app on an external website that will publish logged-in user's article reads to their timeline. However, I've noticed that when a story is published to timeline, other users who are not connected with your app, are forced to "Add to Timeline". To me, this defeats the purpose because I want users who are not associated with our brand to discover our content and then add it to the timeline if they are a fan of ours. Is there a way to turn off this setting? or is everyone FORCED to add an app to the timeline before they can see the content?
for instance, when I click on a story posted by the Washington Post on someone's timeline, I get this screen -> http://dl.dropbox.com/u/1169963/timeline.png when I expected it to just bring me straight to the article. Most users are going to abandon the app at this point and never click on a Washington Post article again
and it looks like people are making browser plugins to stop this from happening:
http://techcrunch.com/2011/12/01/frictionless-kills-facebook-social-article-readers-dead/
so, is there a way for developers to prevent this all together?
What do you mean about FORCED ? If i give permissions, after app produces timeline posts, it will combine and show as an application box in my timeline. But before it, i can see my friends timeline apps without installing them. Also same in newsticker in news feed...
For example in my profile http://facebook.com/chaylock , you should see my NIVEA Mega Kutu timeline app without interacting app..
I have created a Facebook page for our business, and I created a Facebook App to get a AppID in order to use it in the Facebook plugins.
I've noticed that a Facebook App has a page which looks the same as a Facebook Page.
Which one should I use for promoting to the public? The App Page or normal Page?
You should be promoting your business page. That's what people will be searching for.
Essentially, all objects within the Facebook sphere are represented by a Page. Your app gets one of it's own which, if you were so inclined, would mean you could use it to promote your application. I would also recommend locking down your application's Page so the wall doesn't get filled with spam and other dubious and possibly malicious links. You can do this in the Page settings.
Promote the normal page(www.facebook.com/pages/yourpagename). The application page is where you would promote the application you built but it sounds like you just need a appid.
A significant difference between an app page vs a normal page: the app page does not show the number of people who 'like' it. It shows the number of MAU instead.
You have to promote the normal Page. In the normal page you can add a tab that link your application.
One other bit of information: If you create an ad in facebook which links to your page then it will have a like button and will show the current number of people which like your page when it is served to people.
If you have an app then it will not have the like button, but if people use your app then when an ad is served to someone that has a friend that used the app they will see a social context in the ad 'jonny B used(or played if a game) your [app/game name]' at the bottom of the ad.
I am developing iPhone app where I need to provide integration with different social media like FaceBook, Twitter, Google etc. I have seen couple of iPhone applications that allow people to login using their existing FB or Twitter accounts and allow to post comments, like/unlike, follow people etc. I want to implement something similar but not sure where to start with. Could anyone please suggest me right direction? Any documentation and sample code would be great help.
Thanks.

Further also look in Apples library as it contains sample code and extensive information about most topics.
#AppleDeveloper, check out Socialize; this is exactly the problem we're working to solve: http://www.GetSocialize.com. Full feature list at http://go.GetSocialize.com/features
The problem with just putting Facebook into your app is that your download base of users aren't all friends on Facebook. So any sharing in the app using Facebook will only go out to that user's friends.
Socialize lets all users of the app see the social actions other users of the app take, in addition to allowing those social actions to be shared on Facebook (and soon Twitter & Google+ as well). Then we give you a reporting dashboard so you can see the effect of all the social actions on downloads & user engagement: http://go.GetSocialize.com/dashboard
Let me know if this is the type of thing you're looking for.

When to use which? They look the same when I click on either from their directory other than being named differently.
Applications have pages to describe them, make fans (the act of liking the application) these pages are just profiles to the application.
Applications also can have canvas pages, these aren't actually facebook pages...these are the landing pages for your application hosted on your server. Mainly you'll be asked to install the application (game) before accessing it.
Applications can be added to pages and users.
A page is a simple thing that displays information about something.
An app is something that can be installed and is more complicated and can run code as per the Facebook API.
Applications are things like games and quizzes.
Pages are for the "fans" of businesses, musicians, actors, etc.
All the information about apps: http://developers.facebook.com/docs/guides/canvas/
Facebook Page is a like an open group. It can to used to form a group for public figure or to form some open group like "StackOverflow lovers" etc, where you a creator acts as a admin, and there are discussion boards(to discuss an issue), events(to organize an event), notes(to create some document for page), photos (to create album).
And regarding Facebook App have two things Profile page and Application page, it is a Profile page of the Facebook App which looks similar to Facebook page which gives you information about the App. Well, if you want to go to Application page Click on "Go to App".
