Why does the Chewie video player for flutter take up the whole screen size regardless of video dimensions? - flutter

I am new to flutter, and am trying to play videos in my app. I followed this tutorial on using Chewie to play videos by copying and pasting the code from its main.dart and chewie_list_item.dart code snippets on the website into a fresh project (the github project provided by the website is too outdated for me to debug, so I did copy pasted instead)
I expected to get something like this, with the player "wrapped" around the video:
However, I get this (on my android virtual device), with the video player taking up the entire size of the screen regardless of the video dimensions. I did try inputting AspectRatio according to the video dimensions, but all that did was to eliminate the stretching of the video, but the main issue remains.
Why does it behave this way, and how do I achieve the result shown in the first image? This is the test project I made: https://github.com/nathantew14/chewie_test Thanks!

Flutter Video Player appears on second time webpage loads and overlay buttons not functional

Link: Website
Problem: The video on the front page below the video banner does not render until you navigate away from the page and return back. When the video finally appears and plays, the play button does not work. Is there a way to have the video appear on first appearance and have the overlay work as expected.
I am using the latest video_player widget to play the video. Other videos I have implemented work just fine.
When I debug my flutter web application, the application pauses at videoController.play() inside initState(). I continue execution to see if there is was an exception, but nothing new shows in debug console.
One solution I found to work is by setting the volume to 0 then starting the video.
This allows the video to play, but the overlay still not functioning as expected, so I just removed it. For now it works, but still wondering on how the overlay can be implemented.

Flutter Camera plugin zoomed in

I am developing a document scanner app in flutter, however of all the flutter apps I have seen, they are using the camera plugin which has a main issue that I found out here:
https://github.com/flutter/flutter/issues/45906#issuecomment-1124244943
I want to have a full resolution preview(for taking photos) rather than the video preview of the camera(which is also a little zoomed in). Any ideas?

play video on flutter with transparent background

I did some complex 3d animations on blender and I want to play them on flutter. The problem is that when I export the animation into a video and I put it on my flutter app the transparent background is gone. I'm using video_player to play videos on flutter and the video extension I use is .webm because is the only one I know that can be readed on flutter and have a transparent background but the application puts a black background in the video.
The conclusion I get is that video player plugin is not the best idea to do it. So i've been searching about how flutter manage gifs and it's manage alpha channel perfectly because it can manage alpha channel on image. But the next problem is how to control the gif, for that I use gifimage plugin which works really well to reproduce an animation. Finally the last problem is to export from blender to a gif, blender can't export on gif format so you should export into a quicktime format with Qt animation codec and then convert it to gif. If for some reason the first frame of the gif stay as background of the gif you should edit the gif with photoshop for example and change in the timeline the first frame to not disappear to disappear.
Current player plugin uses ExoPlayer on Android. I found this issue on the repo.

How to record screen to video on iPhone with openGL (view preview layer) and UIkit elements?

I have searched everywhere and tried mixing and matching different bits of code but I haven't found anything that works or anyone with the same question.
Basically I want to be able to create video demos of iPhone apps that include standard UIKit elements and also the image coming from the camera (video preview layer). I don't want to use airPlay or iOS simulator to project onto the desktop then capture because I want to be able to make videos outside in public. I have successfully been able to video capture the screen with this code but with the video preview layer being blank. I read that its because its using openGL and what I'm capturing is from the CPU, not the GPU. I have successfully used GPUImage from Brad Larson to capture the video preview layer but it doesn't capture the rest of the UIView. I have seen code that combines both and converts to an image but I'm not sure if that would be too slow for realtime video capture. Can someone point me in the right direction?
It might not be the cleanest solution, but it will work nonetheless: did you consider jailbreaking? I hope Apple does sue me for this one but if you really want to record your screen then simply install a screen recorder. Enough options can be found: http://www.google.be/search?q=iphone+jailbreak+record+screen
And if you don't like it: recover your phone for a previous backup.
(for the record: I'm against jailbreaking and posting this from a productivity point of view)

Tips on using webview to play an embedded Flash movie

I've tried (without success) to get a video to play within a webview. I can see the video thumbnail with the default play button overlaying the video.
When I click the play button - the entire video hi-lights in transparent yellowish/orange. Clicking play again causes the Play button to blink. The thumbnail always remains, but never plays. I can even see the timeline below the video with the play-head, etc. I can never touch the video controls, because every click treats the entire video like one big button - and hi-lights like mentioned above.
They are numerous videos to be played and they are not at YouTube, so launching the YT player with an intent isn't desired.
I'm using SDK 8 (2.2), runing on a 2.3.6 device, and Have the latest Flash Player 11.xxxxx installed.
Any suggestions?
Took another approach in the app.
