I'm trying to create a network between users who tweet in a specific place and those who reply. To do so, I'm using academic R. I have a data frame with tweets from the specific place between 2010-2022. The data also comes with the information related to reply_count, like_count, retweet_count, and the user replied_ to. I'm trying to get the user who replied to the tweet, something like the function get_retweeted_by, but I haven't been possible.
Does anyone know how I can do this in the academic twitteR package? Or have any suggestions using R.

How can I query facebook's graph API to retrieve all user's likes (not only pages but also photos and others)?
For instance, how could I get all the pictures a user has liked? Using facebook's search bar you can find them easily by clicking on "photos has liked".
I wrote a script that scrapes the page content and does that but it's not very efficient.
I have recently come accross a similar problem, maybe this helps you solve it.

This will give you a list of all posts that received likes during the specified time period. If you manage to write a code summing up the following JSON path you got your sum for "all user's likes":
data[0].likes.summary.total_count
Not entirely sure is this is exactly what you were searching for, hope it helps you though - and if not you, someone else.
As for likes you can also use the same way to extract Shares and Comments:

There isn't to my knowledge any way to get this from the API without grabbing every type of response from the API and then sorting through for likes. Facebook search bar uses an internal API different from the Graph API.
How can one get multiple attachments of a post/status in a group?
For example: A group status that some member wrote and added multiple photos to..
Currently I am using Graph api to get the group stream with group_id/feed and unable to see images attached to a single status - while accessing the feed from Facebook itself I can validate that there are few photos attached to the status.
Using FQL it is possible to get the attachments with the following query:
SELECT attachment FROM stream WHERE post_id = each_post_id
Considering I will have to send this request per post and that FQL will soon be gone I am searching for an alternative.
I was looking for a solution for this as well and actually just found it.
The Facebook Platform changelog says the following:
/v2.1/{post-id} will now return all photos attached to the post: In
previous versions of the API only the first photo was returned with a
post. This removes the need to use FQL to get all a post's photos.
With this knowledge I went to the Graph Api Explorer and found a post that had 2 attachments or more added to it.
After finding the post, and with that the post id, I tried the request Facebook told me to do:
/v2.1/{post_id}
This does NOT give you the desired result. The nice thing about the explorer is that you can search for fields you want to add to your request.
You want to add the attachments (plural) field. NOTE: It might be that the graph api explorer only shows the attachment (singular) field. This is NOT right.
So, to summarize:
Get the post id of the post containing the images.
Create a new request to the graph api that looks something like: /v2.1/{post_id}?fields=attachments
Then read the result to get your desired attachments.
I hope this helps you out as I have been struggling for a while as well.

PS2: This is just an explanation of how you get attachments of a single post. You can also add the attachments field to the /me/home egde to immediately get all attachments at every post like so:
me/home?fields=message,from,attachments
PS3: The permissions you need are

user_photos
user_videos
Facebook is not very clear on this matter and it is very hard to figure things out like this. So I hope this will help everyone that is searching for this solution.

I have a website on which users can rate a concert and I'd like to post this action on the user's timeline.
But since facebook already has common Rate action only for books and videos, I cannot find a way to do this.
I see two alternatives (but I don't know if they're possible):
Using the common rate action on a custom object (for example, a music festival in my website)
Creating another action which is similar to rate just so I can publish on facebook (it is kind of cheating, but I can't really see another way)
I'd like to know which is the better way to go now, or if there's another alternative.
Since facebook only allows rating for books and videos yet, you could use in your facebook story symbols like ✪ or ✭.
So you only need to write them dynamically into your user story, user feed or the way you let your user post their ratings. I think when you put them into headline, they'll be big enough.

I know that it is just a bad workaround, but as soon as I'll know that facebook changed their rating system, I'll update this answer.
I have an idea to create a "top posts" feature to my website, which creates the "top" list depending on how many likes and shares that a post have on facebook.
Users may see how many likes an post has received so far since they only have to ask for a single, defined url. However, the website itself has to be able to query all the links that are tied to itself (which have a predefined url template like website.com/[post-id]) to create the "top" list. Is it possible to do something similar (or achieve the same result in a different way)?
Any ideas on a real workflow about something like this will be appreciated!
this seems like a little but interesting project. I don't know if there is a feature that could get that directly in the way you want, but i did something similar.
First you have the Graph API, with that you can get the Posts of a user using feed, with that every post is telling you how many likes does it have which you can get with POST_ID/likes.
Then you'll have to check for changes in the post periodically comparing its created_time and updated_time.
This could seem very hard, because you have a lot of posts and you have to check them all for updates, but you can use batch_requests so you can check them all at once.
I have made a bookmarklet which shows top posts in the Facebook News Feed as well as Google+, Twitter and Instagram Profiles.
Just add a new bookmark in your bookmarks bar and replace its URL with the following code and save it, then go to the social network website and run it:

I need a way to learn if a user had shared a post (link, video, photo etc.) which is published by a Facebook page. I have the object_id and link of the post, and user_id of the user considered. Is there a Graph API or FQL (or something else) solution to ask Facebook if the user re-shared the post or not? Or is it possible to get a list people who shared the post? So, I can extract my answer from this list.
Note that I know it is possible to find the answer by crawling the user's wall feed. But it is time consuming and I need a more efficient way.

You can use the following FQL to get the data you're looking for.
SELECT via_id, created_time, owner_comment
FROM link
WHERE owner = me()
You can then compare via_id against the posts author (page ID) to determine if this share came from the page in question.
Unfortunately, there seems to be a bug with the data return where some of the via_ids come back as 0. There is a ticket in with Facebook which, at the time of this post, has been open for three weeks at medium priority. I have no idea if this issue is specific to my app or affects everyone, but that's the query to get what you want.
