Hide element on blog page - element

I am really a beginner, trying to improve my wife's Wordpress website. What I am wanting to do is to hide a certain element (of the header, in this case) on mobile only. I already managed to figure out the "name" of this element, which is .vc_custom_xyz. I also managed to hide this element by adding additional CSS to any given page. BUT: This doesn't work for the blog post page - which simply ignores all CSS that I add. Also, when I add CSS into the theme's additional CSS section by referring to the blog page ID. Any ideas to help me achieve this? Thanks...

How to tag pages and layout (not assets) in Liferay

I have a Liferay site. I have several pages that needs to be tagged so I can get them in a custom portlet.
I also need to present a page with an alphabetic index of the tagged pages.
I have read documentation and I have seen that Liferay can put a tag or a category only on "assets" (web content, etc.) and not on a page/layout.
Can you suggest me a way to do it?
You are right about tag/category, these can't be applyed to layout (unfortunately).
The best alternative is to use custom attribute and define the extra fields for the page.
See this image
You can read the custom attribute for the page using ExpandoBridge API.
Here an example to read an extra attribute within the theme velocity template.
#set ($customField= $layout.getExpandoBridge().getAttribute("CustomFieldKey"))
Note: Remember to set the permissions on each custom attribute. It's very important!

Advanced Custom Fields wordpress plugin - Options Page Shortcode

I am using the Advanced Custom Fields Plugin (http://www.advancedcustomfields.com) with the options page add-on so I can use global variables throughout the theme (on multiple pages).
I don't know PHP and I'm trying to get the custom field from the options page by using a shortcode in the content on the different pages inside the WYSIWYG editor.
Is this possible? I can't figure out how to do it after days of trying. Can anyone help? I've tried going to the plugin's support and haven't gotten anything back.
Please Help! I really need to get this working!

Figured out a way around it. I can just use the shortcode they provide to reference a specific post/page ID which accomplishes the goal of only having to put it in once and it being rendered at multiple pages as long as the shortcode is there and properly formatted.
Use the post_id of option in your shortcode as per this example:
[acf field="myfieldname" post_id="option"]
Block type: Text Block (WYSIWYG field)
Text:
[acf field="NAME-OF-ACF-FIELD" post_id="options"]
Image (Return Format: Image URL) and alt text:
<img src="[acf field='NAME-OF-ACF-FIELD' post_id='options']" alt="[acf field='NAME-OF-ACF-FIELD' post_id='options']" />

Add unique classes to Tumblr posts using per-post booleans

I know it's possible to create blog-wide meta-if boolean variables in Tumblr themes (e.g. {block:IfNotReversePagination}), but it is it possible to do something similar for individual posts?
For instance:
I'd like to be able to create several different widths for Photo posts, and it seems that the easiest way to do that would be to have a checkbox in the Edit screen for a post, labeled Wide Photo or something similar, that I could use to add a class in the theme markup.
Is this possible? If not, is there another way to accomplish something similar?
On a per-post basis you can enter a tag to the post. Say you enter widephoto as a tag on a post you can use the {TagsAsClasses} template tag on your posts to check it.
<article class="{TagsAsClasses}"></article>
If you don't want the tag showing up in the tag listing for the post you can remove it via JS (though it will still show up in the Tumblr Dashboard).

Refresh Fb Comments Plugin

I'm trying to add a link to allow a user to refresh the Comments plugin on my page so they can see other posts by other people.
I want to do it without refreshing the full page.
There's a html5 player on the page playing audio, hence me not wanting to interrupt that player.
Currently I'm using the standard -
I've tried the jQuery method of giving the div an id and having a header script which counts to 10 and reloads the div widget, it seems to reload the widget, but it doesn't update the contents of the comments plugin to show other's posts, just ones you've added yourself. To see all the updates you have to refresh the page fully, which I don't want to do.
I'm trying to avoid iFrames because of the height issues and extra scroll bars, etc.
Any ideas would be appreciated
I'm not exactly sure what you're trying to do, but you can use the FB.XFBML.parse method to refresh plugins.
The only thing is that you'll need to first remove the old plugin from the dom, then add the new html5/xfbml placeholders (what you get from the comments plugin page when clicking "get code") and then use the FB.XFBML.parse method.

Want to share a particular block or div from my entire page into facebook

I have a requirement that in a webpage I have multiple block of content which is wrapped inside individual DIV. Each block needs to have a share to facebook button.
Did many researches but couldn't find a solution. Please can anyone give me a suitable code or idea how I can share particular blocks/content wrapped inside a div into facebook.
For e.g.
I have three DIV in my page and each DIV has share button, when user clicks on any of the share button the respective DIV is shared.
Is there any solution to this requirement or whether is it possible to do. Any kind of suggestions are widely accepted.
Check out this HyperArts tutorial on adding a Share Button to an iFrame tab - you use the exact same code for your webpage. You will be using the Facebook JavaScript SDK.
At the end of the tutorial it explains how to modify it to allow for multiple Share buttons on one page. You just need to add a unique identifier for each one.
