I'm trying to run mongo shell after i downloaded it with:

How to initiate MongoDB?

I'm using an M1 Macbook and created a data/db folder from the home directory.

I believe the main error occurs on this line:
"Failed to unlink socket file","attr":{"path":"/tmp/mongodb-27017.sock","error":"Permission denied"
Should I just give writing permissions to that file?

mongo couldn't connect to server

Even after reinstalling mongo, I face the same problem on my Mac machine. On a fresh reinstall, I keep getting this error, when typing mongo on my Mac terminal.

Can't start mongod on terminal

I've been trying to run a mongoimport in a bash script that I have run to store data in a localhost db.
mongoimport --host localhost --port 27017 --db cities-db --collection city --type json --file ./cities.json
But I can't get mongod to run since it keeps giving me this error

mongod command not working and not able to connect to local port

I just installed MongoDB from Documentation.
Currently I am running Pop_OS 20.04 LTS
I think MongoDB successfully installed
mongo --version
