Entry IsPassword and IsReadOnly - maui

I want to create a DetailsPage that shows non-editable information where some values are hidden/masked like a password entry with "*****". I would like the user to be able to toggle a button that allows them to see the value. I tried using an Entry control that has a binding to IsPassword with IsReadOnly set to true as follows:

Is this the proper behavior?
If I cannot use an Entry with IsReadOnly="True", then what is the best way to have a Label have this functionality. Should I use a ValueConverter or a Behavior?

As a workaround , you can replace Entry with a Label , change the value while clicking the button each time .

Make focus go to next entry in a collection view

I have an application in .Net Maui that uses a collection view with an entry field and after the collection view one static entry field. If you are currently focused on the first entry in the collection view and hit tab or enter it will not navigate to the next entry in the collection view and focus on the static entry field. I need to find the best way to have the entry focus on the next entry in the collection view on complete.
I have tried changing the return type of the collection view entry field to Next and also tried the community toolkit SetFocusOnEntryCompletedBehavior function and both result in the same behavior of not navigating to the next entry from the collection view. Very similar to this issue that doesnt seem to be resolved. MAUI - CollectionView jump / focus to next entry
I found a workaround for you. You could try the following code:
Step1 Create a custom control , let's call it MyEntry (MyEntry.cs) which subclass Entry:
In this control we attach a BindableProperty IsExpectedToFocusProperty which we used it to judge whether it is goning to be focused. We also registered a new method OnIsExpectedToFocus to detect propertyChanged for our control. For info about BindableProperty, you could refer to Bindable properties.

Step3 Design our MainPageViewModel. I define an ObservableCollection which ItemSource will bind to. And add three items just for test.
Then I think the most important part is to design the Command. Let me explain it briefly. When we press the entry of an Entry, we fire the ReturnCommand and get current Item through ReturnCommandParameter. We get the index of current Item in ItemCollection. So the next entry which needs to be focused corresponds to the index+1 Item. Then we changed the IsExpectedToFocus of the next entry and fire the OnIsExpectedToFocus method which set the entry be focused. Done!

I have some problem with correct binding my folder with images to master details and other operation with them.

But when I want to add event and SelectedItem to AdaptiveGridView from MVVM model, I saw that it doesn't see them. Visual Studio show me that I could to write them in Model "AppFolder" but it's nonsens....
So, my question: How I can add event (binding command/method) to adaptive grid from UserPhotosViewModel?

I try to add, but that way also offers to write event and property in model. I use this way for settings in navigation panel (parent control for master/details)
You just need to add command property in your AppFolder class like the following:

Best practice for nesting ContentViews into ContentPage as Xamarin architecture

I am have an app that basically loads a bunch of ContentViews into the home ContentPage. I THINK there is a problem here because all of the viewmodels would essentially need to been initialized every time we load the home page. I am wondering if it is worth my time to ditch the below code and convert the views from ContentView's to ContentPage's and just do Navigation.PushAsync(new View1()); instead. Sorry I know this is alot of example code but I would really like to get a clear picture of best practice.

Can someone tell me if this approach is fine? as using this approach everytime I add a new page I will need to add a view to the Homepage view and the viewModel & IsVisible properties to the Homepage ViewModel..
I would greatly appreciate any guidance on this. I think a better approach would be to just seperate the ContentViews from the HomePage and when I Navigate to one of these views I would just PushAsync. I have seen supporting documentation online where some people are taking the above approach, I am just trying to ask the experts what they think when they see this code.
After speaking w/ a member of the Xamarin team I've been told to remove all the views from this homeview page, bind the perspective view models in their own code behinds, and from there I can navigation using Navigation.PushAsync(new View1());

How to get actual value and validate of CustomTextbox Text in ViewModel

I have created custom component for displaying text with either Simple or Password mode, intention to develop this control is the Silverlight does not support custom TextMode (like Password or Text).
This is my requirement
In addition to the access rights it will be possible for organizations to specify restricted access to certain fields in the database. The access restriction to these fields will be Update and Redacted, thus meaning if a specific field has true against Update then a user will be able to update the field as well as viewing it, and if the field has true against Redacted then the user will only be able to see a redacted value in the filed (possibly asterisks - * * * * *). It will be possible to set a field to being Update-able and Redacted, thus meaning a user will see the redacted view but still be able to go and update the field with a new value. Such a requirement is mostly used when holding sensitive information against a contact or information which could be used to discriminate against the contact.
I have created custom control for this requirement and it is working perfectly. i am able to set TextMode dynamically but i couldn't able to get the original value in my ViewModel. (I am able to get original value in View but can't in ViewModel)
If i am access the original value in View using following then it is work.

Wouldn't it be easier to build your own UserControl around the regular TextBox and PasswordBox and just switching their visibility when your dependency property TextMode changes? You could then have a single VM for the UserControl with property Value and bind in TwoWay mode both the TextProperty of the TextBox and the Password property of the PasswordBox to it.
