How to download a specific version of Lens (k8slens) - kubernetes

I want to install a previous, specific version of k8slens (https://k8slens.dev/) but impossible for me to find this (neither for mac nor windows !) Do I have to download the source code and rebuild it? Even with this there is no "install" section in the makefile !
Why is it so difficult to find a specific version?

Yes, you can easily download the source code for a specific version tag and the compile and use it. The list of tags is here.
Once you get the source code of your desired version you can generate the binary with :
make build
And then simply run that binary to get your required version. Just know that install simply means copying a compiled binary in a known Path of the system so it can be executed. There is nothing special about it.

The question was made some time ago but just in case you haven't reached the answer yet, One thing I did to solve this problem was that i went to the lens repo : https://github.com/lensapp/lens/releases and search through the old release versions seeking for a binary asset (.exe) (the news version provide the source code but not the binary) then i managed to find the binary of the version 4.2.3. ( release in Apr 26, 2021)

What does "version" at the end of a Swift Package Manager Package.resolved file mean?

I am trying to figure out what "version": 1 or "version": 2 at the end of a Package.resolved file generated by Swift Package Manager stands for. I have two workspaces and sometimes the Package.resolved files have both version 1 or 2, sometimes different versions.
What kind of impact has having different versions and what is causing the version change? Is it possible to have the same versions for both?
I've done a bit of research and it seems Apple changed the format of the Package.resolved file with version 5.6 of the Swift tools. Any version of the toolchain can work with version 1 but you need >= 5.6 to work with version 2. See this forum conversation

As I said in my comment, it's probably best to ignore what's in that file and not commit it to your source code control. One of the comments in the above forum thread mentions that you might want to commit it to ensure repeatability of builds, but that is a fragile solution and if you want to build with exact versions, you should do this in the Package.swift file.

You'll get mixed versions because, if resolving a package means no changes, spm will not overwrite the old Package.resolved.

install titanium module from github

i'm having some issues getting modules to work on my app - I keep on getting told that the requested module cannot be found.
It is entirely possible that i'm not installing the modules correctly - so, for the purposes of this question:
Once i've downloaded the zip file from git hub using the green "download" button, what do i do to import the module into my project? Not how do i tell tiapp.xml to use the module - just what do i do to install it?

Inside the zip file of the download you'll see there is a folder called modules. This is the same folder that is in your root of the project.
So, an iOS module should be installed in the /modules/iphone folder. Once added, you can add Facebook to your app like this:
<module platform="iphone">facebook</module>
If you want to specify a version you can do so like this:
<module platform="iphone" version="1.1.0>facebook</module>
note: I made up the version number
You can also add it through the tiapp editor in Appcelerator studio, although it doesn't always seem to find the module. This might be a bug in studio though, usually it works great.

Two main issues here, one directly relating, the other less so.
Issue 1
The link i gave to get the codebase from github is wrong - well, it gets the codebase, but not in a form that can be used as a module. It is, in fact, the uncompiled version.

So that takes care of issue one, what about
Issue 2
The latest version for use is a bit broken. Seems someone (from the appcelerator team???) decided to make the latest 6.0.1 release have a minsdk of the (at this time) as-yet-unreleased version 6.0.0, and sets the apiversion to 3.
This breaks the current release of 5.5.1, so for anyone reading this prior to 6.0.0 for appcelerator, you will want to use this release version.

Can't Compile Tesseract API example for WIndows using Tesseract 3.0.2.02 archive

I'm looking at using Tesseract to do some work with PDF files, and so I want to use the library rather than an external executable.
I started by downloading the full Tesseract source and looking at building that. Sadly the standard sources don't have any means to build on a non-Linux platform, in my case Windows. There are methods for doing so, and I looked at those.
Firstly the VS2008 build doesn't. I'm aware that it need Leptonica, but I figured I'd tackle that afterwards and just tried to build the existing code. Fails with "fatal error C1083: Cannot open include file: 'allheaders.h': No such file or directory". Nothing to do with Leptonica at this stage, it simply doesn't work.
Even if I were able to get past that, I'd have to build Leptonica, and that requires using GNU tools and therefore an installation of Cygwin, so I gave up. I Have a MingW instatllation, (I've never managed to get Cygwin to work in a usable fashion) but I'm not keen enough to mess with such a complicated and fragile build.
So I decided I'd just use the pre-built binaries which some kind soul creates. Downloaded that from code.google.com. Now I need to look into using the code, so the next obvious step is the Tesseract API example, which states it requires "tesseract-ocr-3.02.02-win32-lib-include-dirs.zip", no problem, because I already have that now.
No real clue as to where the API example wants the files to be placed, but a little messing about gets them in appropriate locations. Press build and "fatal error C1083: Cannot open include file: 'allheaders.h': No such file or directory", just like trying to build Tesseract from source.....
And indeed there is no such file.
So, where is this file ?
I also struggled some time ago to make it works under windows and then I found this git repository : https://github.com/charlesw/tesseract-vs2012
It includes all needed extern library (because Tesseract need Leptonica, but Leptonica also need extern library to handle the different image format) and is also working great with vs 2013.
OK so now I see that allheaders.h is part of Leptonica. Still leaves me wondering why the Tesseract pre-built library requires that I have Leptonica available, I would have expected that to be built-in, I guess it isn't.

Upgrade N2CMS to latest version collected from github trunk

I am upgrading an old N2CMS website to the newest version released in the trunk (2.2.5 or something like that), following these instructions https://github.com/n2cms/n2cms/blob/master/docs/releases/upgrade_2.2.1.txt but i am getting an error when tring to compile the project:
Unable to load one or more of the requested types. Retrieve the LoaderExceptions property for more information.
Has anyone done this before and know if there's anything else i should be doing appart from just copying files?

Complete text of this error contains the name of DLL you are missing. Read it carefully and you will find out what DLL you need to add. It could be something like Lucene.dll which was introduced recently (it depends how old your project is).

What artifacts to save for a released build?

So, I now know what to save from nightly builds. What about when I give something to customers?
For example, I probably want to save debugging information (e.g. PDB).
What else?
We use:
installers
binaries
pdbs
tag of source files
any other source files that might not be in svn - for example config.status
build log
You made me wonder if I'm missing anything important
Compiler and library version information (it may not be part of the build log). Somebody else mentioned the whole binaries.
Linker map file (it can sometimes help the remote debugging of a problem).
Unstripped executable (if on a Unix system you strip it the executable before making it available to clients).
For the SDK releases we do include:
PDB and XML for the libraries (packaged with the latest snapshot of the samples)
Packaged snapshot of sources from SVN (just because we can)
Link to the online documentation (docs are generated from the source automatically)
Trace messages don't necessarily need to be generated by default but the possibility to enable them can be very helpful.
Results and Information generated from ATPs that are run on the build (probably as part of the build process).
