Facebook privacy policy URL: Bad Response Code: URL returned a bad HTTP response code

I want to publish my first Facebook application and a Privacy Policy URL is required.
I have the page privacypolicy.html published in my website but I get the next message when I configure it in "App Details":
You must submit a valid Privacy Policy URL in order to be compliant with Facebook Platform. Request failed with error:
Bad Response Code: URL returned a bad HTTP response code.
The http code returned when I request the page is 200
Any ideas?
The URL is cached by facebook.
Adding # at the end of my Url did the job ..
This is an old question I know, but I figured I'd post my solution and hope it helps anyone. For me I got this error because I had rewrite rules that didn't catch the URL that Facebook actually goes to in order to get the privacy policy. Facebook adds a query string to the URL that you give it for the privacy policy and since my privacy policy page doesn't do anything with the query string, I didn't check for it in my rewrite rule.
You can check out how Facebook scrapes the page you give it by going to Facebook's Sharing Debugger and putting your URL in the input bar. You can also see the last time that Facebook tried to scrape that URL and tell Facebook to try again once you've fixed any issues. This will get around the caching that was mentioned in user2390340's post.
Facebook externalhit appears to request via the ipv6 address published in DNS if there is one available and won't check on the ipv4 published in DNS.
If your website doesn't have ipv6 enabled it'll return a 404 or 500 and you'll get that error "Bad Response Code: URL returned a bad HTTP response code" for your Privacy Policy URL.
Edit:
Also noted that Facebook caches the URL, I was checking it and getting a "bad response code" error even though there was no hit from their UA in the access logs.
Adding ?stuff onto the end of the URL in the Privacy Policy field bypassed a cache and the access log hits showed up with 200 OK, allowing the URL to be saved.
Not sure if this is related to user2259887's comment about Facebook using IPV6 DNS. But after reading his comment, I was able to work around the validation issue by specifying an IP Address URL instead of using the host domain name URL.
This workaround will not work well if the site IP address is dynamic or change often.

HTTP Status Code for Resource with Multiple URIs

Which HTTP status code should be used when redirecting from a secondary URL to a primary URL?
For example, if the "official" URL of a Contact page is /contact-us and I want to provide /contact as a shorthand convenience, what would be the appropriate status code?
Use one of these:
301 Moved Permanently
302 Found
303 See Other
From your question I think 303 See other is most appropriate.

redirect from old page - 302, 303 or 403 forbidden

I create the site about realty.
It has three page about one item (flat)
/flat/item/1 -main page about flat
/flat/gallery/1 -photos
/flat/map/1 -map
Customer wants that if flat is out of stock then two pages(gallery, map) have unaccesible for view.
I want to know. What kind of status code I have to set 403 or 404?
May be 302, 303 and redirect to /flat/item/1?
If you don't want to redirect, you should be using 410 ("Gone"). This means that the resource is permanently no longer available.
If you want to redirect the gallery and map to the main page, use code 301 ("Moved Permanently").

Facebook debug returns 403 Forbidden and i can't solve it

i've read all the other questions about this subject and so far i can't figure out what's the problem.
The website is http://bowarrow.de and it works fine. Only Facebook has a 403 problem. I added meta tags and i find them in the source code.
Still "Bad Response Code: URL returned a bad HTTP response code." if i enter it here https://developers.facebook.com/tools/debug
I contacted my hoster to ask if it is a mod_security error but they said there is no mod_security on my account.
I use hostgator as a host and host europe for my domain.

IIS 7.5 URL Rewrite Module & Redirects

My company is embarking on a large website redirection at the moment and I decided it would give us the perfect opportunity to make the URL's more user and google friendly.
To give you a brief outline of the situation, I am the SEO guy and I am dealing with an external developer in order to redirect the website without hurting the current rankings in Google. I don't have much experience regarding sharepoint hence why I would really appreciate any assistance in understanding and knowing if there is a work around to my situation.
The website is using IIS7.5, they recently installed the URL Rewrite Module in order to create more user friendly URL's. My question is, by creating a more user friendly URL, does this cause an additional redirect?
For example: if a user types in www.domain.com this permanently (301) redirects to www.domain.com/pages/home.aspx.The developer told me that in order to rewrite the URL to display something more friendly (like www.domain.com/home) this will have to cause another permanent redirect. So in essence the process will look like this:
REQUESTING: http:// www.domain.com
SERVER RESPONSE: HTTP /1.1 301 Redirect
1) Redirecting to: http:// www.domain.com/pages/home.aspx
SERVER RESPONSE: HTTP /1.1 301 Redirect
2) Redirecting to: http:// www.domain.com/home
SERVER RESPONSE: HTTP/1.1 200 OK
Is this how the URL Rewrite Module really works? I would have thought that it would not have to create another redirect in order to create a more user friendly URL?
My second problem is this.... The redirect is happening on the same server. So here is essentially the situation:
www.old-domain.com
www.dev-domain.com
www.new-domain.com
The old-domain needs to be redirected to the new domain so we ran a test in order to see if the HTTP status codes were correct before going ahead with the project. So the developer redirected the dev-domain to the new-domain and the redirects look like this: (The developers comments in italic below)
REQUESTING: http:// www.dev-domain.com
SERVER RESPONSE: HTTP/1.1 301 Moved Permanently
1) Redirecting to: http:// www.new-domain.com/
SERVER RESPONSE: HTTP/1.1 302 Redirect
2) Redirecting to: http:// www.dev-domain.com/Pages/home.aspx
SharePoint’s alternate access mappings causes this to happen and there is no way around this.
SERVER RESPONSE: HTTP/1.1 301 Moved Permanently
3) Redirecting to: http:// www.dev-domain.com/pages/home.aspx
SERVER RESPONSE: HTTP/1.1 301 Moved Permanently
4) Redirecting to: http:// www.new-domin.com/pages/home.aspx
SERVER RESPONSE: HTTP/1.1 200 OK
The developer states the reason for redirecting back to the dev-domain then back to the new-domain is because of SharePoint's alternate access mappings and there is no way around this. Is that entirely true?
Any assitance at all will be GREATLY appreciated!
