How to tune Eclipse for Web development? - eclipse

I installed plugin Web Tools Platform. Now, to start typing a html- tag, I type the '<' key, and a list of possible tags pops up.
I'm most interested in the features of the content assist: how to set attributes for tags is still not clear. For example, how to quickly type this code:
<button class='buttonColor buttonShape', id='simpleButton'>Press me!</button>
Are there any hotkeys to make it easier to write html- code?

Wagtail. Ability to edit html within editor

My editors want to have an ability to edit raw html within editor.
For example, we can have simple list markup:
<ul>
<li>Some text<li>
</ul>
Or with custom classes and event tags:
<ul>
<li class="my_class">Some text
<span class="special">Some additional info</span>
<li>
</ul>
And so on.
I know that built-in Draftail doesnt support html editing.
But using third-party editor comes with problem:
Losing integration with system. For example, i cant just put image like with draftail. Or, preview mode cant handle all functionality of third-party editor.
So, maybe someone has working solution for this situation.
I thought about using special StreamField panels, but it seems to be overhead of blocks. Dont like this idea of having lots of blocks with little differences
Wagtail does not support raw HTML editing within the page editor out of the box intentionally. The philosophy (zen) of Wagtail is to help editors and developers 'wear the right hat' when working in Wagtail.
HTML editing is usually best provided to developers, where there is an expected knowledge of what is required for things like accessibility, security and the benefit of tooling (like git).
However, if HTML editing is a must, you will probably need to build your own editor field for that purpose or find a suitable package that works with HTML markup such as django-markupfield. Adding image/snippet/page chooser functionality however will have to be built for whatever you end up using. You may also want to look at the Wagtail markdown package either as an alternative to HTML or a starting point, it allows for a syntax of linking to pages/images.
Wagtail lets you use any kind of Django field or widget with the FieldPanel.
Please ensure you consider all the risks when implementing this feature, such as accessible HTML (e.g. heading levels), security (disallow some tags such as script tags), malformed HTML leaking into the rendered template and of course the end user experience.
At the end i made my own solution
Simple rewrite some methods in wagtail`s Html DbWhiteLister and HtmlConverter.
This gives me an opportunity to allow any tags with any attributes.

How to get code assist for HTML tag class attribute in Eclipse?

I am using STS for Spring application developement. I want to use Bootstrap CSS on frontend.
The problem is that code assist does not work for css classes (JetBrains PHPStorm is doing it just fine)
So when I type
<button class="|
I would like to Ctrl+Space to get list of all available css classes (obviously fetched from CSS files in project).
How can I do this?? Code assist for tags and tag attributes works, but what about class attribute value?
Required feature comes with plugin wtp-web-resources but it has some bugs and is no longer maintained because it was supposed to be merged into WTP as core feature and its not done yet.

Intellisense using phonegap

I need to develop an app for iphone using phonegap
I want to have a drop down box which has the capacity of intellisense.
Like when i type 'A' in the dropdown box, all the data elements listed with 'A' should be a part of drop down. Is this possible?
Yes you should be able to create an autocomplete drop down box using something like jQuery -- for which there is already a plugin to do that: http://docs.jquery.com/Plugins/autocomplete
You could write it from scratch but there are already a lot of autocomplete JavaScript libraries.

Any WYSIWYGs that use contentEditable rather than an iframe?

I am looking for a list of WYSIWYG editors that use contentEditable rather than a designMode iframe.
The reason I want this is that I want to have a few regions (divs) on my site that users can edit, and I want the styling (fonts, font colors, etc). to look the same in the edit area as it normally does. I don't want to have to apply a stylesheet to the WYSIWYG's iframe.
Anyone know of any light-weight, free/open-source ones?
It's not free but I personally feel that the Telerik RadEditor is hands down the best WYSIWYG around.
It's not free
It's .NET only
It allows you to style the editor to match your site exactly
It has some great asset management tools
It's super easy to configure.
Also if you can get away with a little less "fancy" I'd say that WMD is an awesome WYSIWY***M*** editor, and can be used across multiple development languages (It's what StackOverflow uses here on this site).
New ckeditor v4 beta has support for content-editable. http://ckeditor.com/ckeditor-4-beta
Looks like NicEdit uses contentEditable. YAY! THIS MAY WORK!
Another few to throw in there, although I've never used any of them in production so can't vouch for them:
Aloha Editor
wysihtml5
Raptor Editor

gwt typeahead missing

I have a GWT app with a bunch of textboxes. In firefox I would expect that when I type a word in a textbox that I have already typed in and submitted, that firefox would offer to autocomplete that text. But for this GWT app it is not happening.
The ids and the name of the html elements are the same everytime. I don't know if it makes a difference, but I am using UiBinders for presentation.
Also in IE it seems that none of my css stuff is loaded. And when I IE developer tools on my GWT page, it can focus in on any of the textboxes it just focuses on the encompassing DIV around all the textboxes.
The problem with autocompletion is caused by how the DOM tree is created in a dynamic web application, such as the one created using GWT. Basically, all the DOM elements (textboxes, etc) are dynamically created, after the page is loaded. However, AFAIK, the browser only supports autocompletion on "static" elements, ones that are part of the HTML host page. So, for that reason you won't get autocompletion support from your browser in a GWT app. Fot some cases, you can still emulate it via SuggestBox.
You could try including the elements you want autocompletion for in your HTML host page, and then wrapping your GWT Widgets around them - that might work :) But it's not the "prettiest" solution, since you probably want autocompletion for a number of unrelated fields/elements.
