I have a problem with postgresql, I want to connect my DB on RDS-Amazon but I don't find the option create server on PgAdmin 4.
I saw these tutorials:
https://adamtheautomator.com/rds-postgres/
But in my PGAdmin the situation is this:
Try Register, Server. That will call up a dialog box. Choose the connections tab to enter server address\name, user, db and password :

I have a heroku postgres database. On pgadmin i can see over 1,700 databases since they are all on the same host. I have set the server connection settings as provided by heroku and i can see my database highlighted in yellow and can access it normally.
I tried disconnecting from the server than edit the db restriction property in the advanced tab and put in my database name(same one as the maintenance db, and without ''). I press save, i reconnect to the server but i can still see all the databases of the server and all the live data of the entire server. Am i missing something?
DonĀ“t download the latest version of pgadmin 4(v.6.10), instead download the v.6.9
link:
https://www.postgresql.org/ftp/pgadmin/pgadmin4/v6.9/windows/
I believe that latest version is buged when we try to especify a dbname for restriction
uninstall 4(v.6.10) and replace (v.6.9)
i faced the same problem here, but installed (v.6.9) and worked great, and brings me only my database
for pgadmin4 you dont need single quotes ... just write the dbname and then tab

I am not able to connect through pgAdmin4 to Google Cloud SQL.
Following are the credentials I am providing and getting the error messege:
If you are configuring access for public IP connections, follow the next steps to connect with PgAdmin:
1) Create your PostgreSQL instance in Google Cloud Platform.
2) While creating the instance,
In Instance ID tab, write a name for your instance
In Default user password tab, write a password.
Choose the region.
Click on configuration options, go to Connectivity, enable Public IP, under Authorized networks, add network and their write the IP address of your PC. You can check the IP address in the link .
Click on create.
Then in PgAdmin:
1) In Host name/address put Public IP address of the instance.
To connect with Google Cloud SQL using pgadmin client, you can use cloud_sql_proxy
These steps need to follow:
Establish connection to Postgres.
cloud_sql_proxy -instances=<connection string>=tcp:5433
You will get connection string from GCP here
After executing cloud_sql_proxy, you will see something like this
Now create a new server connection using pgadmin client.
If you followed those steps properly it will connect and can use like local pgadmin.
Nibrass H has perfectly answered this question.
But I would like to add that if you have already created the Instance, then you can click on 'Edit Instance' and Add your IP in 'Connections'.
Adding some Images to help you.
I have PostgreSQL 9.3 version. I have created database name db1 now I need it to share with other users who all are connected with the LAN's to connect other applications with the same database.
In SQL Server: We can do this by selecting server name with login details.
Question:
Is it possible in PostgreSQL?
If yes, how can do this?
What is the procedure?
You will need to modify pg_hba.conf to allow remote connections to the database. Information about pg_hba.conf can be found here.
After that, you can connect programatically with a connection string, or similar to your image, with a GUI application like pgAdmin.
To connect (remotely or locally) from pgAdmin choose File -> Add Server... and enter the connection information into the dialog box. Here's an example of the window:
Your client computers will also need to have PostgreSQL drivers as well. If you're doing this in Windows, you'll probably be using ODBC. The PostgreSQL ODBC drivers are here. Info on the connection string format can be found here.
Here's an example of what pgAdmin looks like:
Hi i'm totally new to Rails and Postgres + Heroku. I've developed a web and just like PHP you can see what are the records user has entered and key in with phpMyAdmin however what about Rails? How can I see the records?
I've uploaded the app to Heroku so now I wanna see my Production's data. What is more is that my test and development data can't be seen in PGAdmin as well.
You can connect to Heroku Postgres just as you can a local database.
Go to https://postgres.heroku.com/databases, select the database, and it will display the connection settings. On the far right of the page there is an icon with two arrows on it, and selecting it will give you the connection string for various technologies, including a psql command line you can just copy and paste to a terminal.
It will look something like:
psql "dbname=ddgadagin host=ec2-107-12-168-211.compute-1.amazonaws.com user=dgddgargarg password=huu55ihfwqreergr port=5432 sslmode=require"
I have a MySql database that is running on a linux server. The DB is not password encrypted.
I understand that no password != empty password.
I installed mysql workbenck on my windows laptop and am trying to connect to my database. It doesn't allow me to.
Details:
Connection method: Standard (TCP/IP)
Error: Cannot connect to Database server
Your connection attempt failed for user'root' from your host to server at 3306
Host is not allowed to connect to this MySql Server.
I am supposing it might be a windows firewall issue.
Please can somebody help me resolve this.
The error message says it clearly: the machine you are connecting from is not allowed to connect. In a MySQL server you can create users with specific IPs they can connect from. Often only localhost access is enabled (user#localhost or user#127.0.0.1 or user#::1), sometimes anyhost (user#%). In order to connect from your Windows machine your user must either be allowed to connect from any host or you need a specific user for the IP address of your Win machine.
The error because the mysql server is not starting in your computer.so you can start it manually..do the following steps,
1.download and install wamp server according to your bit version(32bit or 64bit) in your computer(http://wampserver-64bit.en.softonic.com/) this link allows you to download wamp server for 64bit.
2.As soon as you install it you can double click and run it..(you can see a icon in the right hand of the taskbar.It may be hide.so you can click the arrow which dhows you the hide apps runing).So click the icon and go to Mysql
3.Then go to Service and there you can find Start/Resume Services click on it..
4.And now it is done.Open mysql workbench and see.It will work..
You should create an specific user for accesing from your laptop:
CREATE USER 'youruser'#'machine.domain.com' IDENTIFIED BY 'your-password';
GRANT ALL PRIVILEGES ON *.* TO 'youruser'#'machine.domain.com' WITH GRANT OPTION;
Or you could create an user for accesing from anywhere
CREATE USER 'new_user'#'%' IDENTIFIED BY 'my-password';
GRANT ALL PRIVILEGES ON *.* TO 'new_user'#'%' WITH GRANT OPTION;
