VS Code ignoring settings for pylint - visual-studio-code

I'm trying to disable certain pylint warnings from VS Code, but nothing I do seems to work. I have put the same settings in all 3 of the possible places (User, Remote, Workspace), but the command line shown in the pylint output window doesn't reflect it. I've tried restarting, disable/enabling the extension. I am using Remote Explorer from my Window VSCode to a Linux server. I've got almost everything else working, including remote debug. I'm running python from a Virtual Environment. But I can't surpress pylint errors/warnings. Here is the setting I am trying:

Pylint behaves rather unintuitively about where it takes its config from.
Two things are key to keep in mind:
IDEs often run pylint from a sub-directory (namely, from the directory directly containing the python file to be linted).
If pylint is being run from a sub-directory, this often changes which config file is being used, because pylint uses a weird order of priority (as stated here).
As a result, I would say there are three main gotchas:
Gotcha 1: pyproject.toml or setup.cfg don't get respected at all when running pylint from a sub-directory.
Gotcha 2: On the other hand, a pylintrc or .pylintrc in an upper directory will get respected, if the current working directory is a python package.
Gotcha 3: Some long-forgotten pylintrc or .pylintrc file lying around in your user's home or configuration directories might be running the show without your knowing.
To solve any issue similar to yours, it can be very helpful to run pylint with the --verbose flag, because then it tells you where it takes its config from.

Debugging problem with a remote compilation on Vscode

Because of the enormous compilation time on my personal laptop, I decide to compile the .c code on a remote, much more powerful server. So I clone the project repository on the server and compile the target with a makefile, as I would do on my computer.
I send the .elf file back to my laptop and when I try to run debugging on Vscode, a main.cdasm file opens instead of the file I expected to see. The code works as expected, it's just the display on Vscode that is wrong.

I guess there is a configuration on Vscode to change the location of the debugging entry point. Or maybe, there is a compiler option to change the default location of the .elf and start debugging in the right location.

Why does `rust-analyzer.cargo.features` not change the features for the save check (VSCode Extension)?

I'm working on a rust project and you have to pick some features to decide the linear programming module to get the project to compile. Normally, I can run check with cargo check --features lp_coincbc,blas_openblas-system and everything works fine. However, the Rust Analyzer VSCode Extension gives me errors (compile_error!s that are built into the project) even though I have this set up in my VScode settings.json file.

To those that come across this question, Rust Analyzer was not the actual issue here. Instead, there was another plugin cargo that was also performing checks and did not have the features specified. After uninstalling the plugin, everything worked fine.
The way I figured out that this was that it was this issue was by following the advice of #ChayimFriedman to analyze what was actually reporting the problem. Since nothing was claiming the error, it couldn't be Rust Analyzer, as when it reports errors, the source shows rust-analyzer. This led me to look into the other plugins installed.

C/C++ debugger failing to create and write to raise.c in WSL using VSCode

I am trying to develop in C on WSL(2) (using Ubuntu) for a university course but am having trouble using the built in debugger for C/C++ in VSCode (installed via the C/C++ extension.
For my testings, I am running this code:

When running into the assert, the debugger errors and VSC displays the following message on the bottom right corner:

I have tried every single tutorial, github issue and stackoverflow question's answer but nothing has worked.
I have reason to believe that this has to do with VSC not having some kind of permissions to write/create files because if I press on Create File (which is prompted in the message), It says:
Unable to write file 'vscode-remote://wsl+ubuntu/build/glibc-eX1tMB/glibc-2.31/sysdeps/unix/sysv/linux/raise.c' (NoPermissions (FileSystemError): Error: EACCES: permission denied, mkdir '/build')
but, if I create the folder /build and chmod 777 it, it is able to create the file, but not write anything into it.
Does anyone have a method to solve this?
Also, what is raise.c and why do I need it anyways?

But no problem, add WSL + Ubuntu / or VSL + ubuntu, it will ignore the path, it does not solve the problem, which may be valid for other environments, but it is not valid if VSCode uses remote connection. Why does vscode-eslint use a different "root" than ESLint?

Everytime I open my project folder in Visual Studio Code, I get an error on the first line of each file. It cannot find my tsconfig.json file because it is looking in the directory I opened VS Code, not where my eslint.json is. I have a functions folder in my root project where the ESLint config is.
Here is part of it:

When I run my lint command eslint "src/*.{ts,js}", it works perfectly and shows the correct warnings. This means that the VS Code plugin dbaeumer.vscode-eslint parses the .eslintrc.json config differently than what it should.
If I change the project to ["./functions/tsconfig.json", "./functions/tsconfig.dev.json"], then VS Code stops giving the error, but when I run ESLint, it tries to find it in <path/to/project>/functions/functions/tsconfig.json going in the functions directory twice.
Is this a VS Code bug, a dbaeumer.vscode-eslint bug, or am I doing something wrong? What can I do to fix the error?
You can just add this "eslint.workingDirectories": [{ "mode": "auto" }] to your VS Code settings.json.
It should make the error go away, but it can have unintended side effects.

Show all warnings and errors in visual studio code

I'am using Visual Studio Code Version 1.6.0.
Is there any possibility to show errors and warnings of all files in the current root folder?
At the moment it shows only errors and warnings for open files.

ES-Lint has introduced a new task in VS Code. You have to enable it in the workspace setings.

Just go to terminal menu and select run task, then choose
eslint: lint whole folder
You can also auto-fix most problems by running the following command in the terminal:
.\node_modules\.bin\eslint.cmd --fix .

While we still await the problem scanner in VS Code, this is a good enough alternative if you use eslint.
OLD ANSWER
Here is how you can see all problems in less than 10 seconds.
You use a little trick.
Open replace all in files Ctrl + Shift + H.
Replace ; with ;
Hit replace all. That's it. Now, check Problems.
The assumption here is that all files have at least one semicolon. For
bigger projects, if you get a warning asking you to refine your
search, just enter something that is common in all files but is not
present a lot.
Very important: Make sure to check the Super cool! But i don't use eslint section! Wich provide a global solution! By setting up tasks! And explained in details!
Note: If you feel the document is blottered! Make sure to skim and get to the titles that catch you! Even though every section may matter! (TLDS (TOO LONG DO SKIM)).

Another reason would be: TSLint is a linter that can only be used for TypeScript, while ESLint supports both JavaScript and TypeScript.
Reason for the choice and deprecation is:

Ok so how the problem matcher make the auto fixing suggestions? The answer is it doesn't! It can be clear! Or you may said at the first time you get to see the problem matcher, hey it may have a relation!
It isn't! The languages support or linters extensions are what provide such a feature! And that through using vscode Action api!

So simply: The problemMatcher set how the output of a task run is parsed and outputed on the problems tab!
And the languages support extension implement the auto fixes! Or linters! (Extensions) [I can make a play ground extension if i want]!
To note too that the yellow bulbe in the problems tab! Works and allow auto fixing! Because the problem matcher provide the line for the problem! That get mapped with the output of the extension fixing suggestions range! That get precised on the CodeActionProvider!
Is not possible right now, the VSCode team have a request for that feature that they are working in, so we must wait.
An alternative is to use a task runner to lint all errors in the project like the one created in this guide.
Visual code has an Extention for ESLINT to integrate the lint errors into the IDE. Whenever you save file, it will show its lint errors. See it: https://marketplace.visualstudio.com/items?itemName=dbaeumer.vscode-eslint
For any like me who have encountered this question dozens of times with variations on the google search "c# vs code show all errors in all files", my issue was that I had too many files associated with my project – the C# extension by default starts error checking only open files when you exceed 1000 files total.
Go to Settings => Workspace => Max Project File Count For Diagnostic Analysis, and increase the value to wherever you think is reasonable.
Equivalently, add the following line to your existing settings.json, which increases the file count cutoff to 10,000.

}
Just run:
npx eslint --init
And configure it as needed
