Activating Matlab error: License checkout failed. License Manager Error -9

Im on Linux Manjaro.
I tried everything that came to my mind but I'm still getting this error:
[john#john-pc bin]$ sudo ./matlab
License checkout failed.
License Manager Error -9
Your username does not match the username in the license file.
To run on this computer, you must run the Activation client to reactivate your license.
Troubleshoot this issue by visiting:
https://www.mathworks.com/support/lme/R2020a/9
Diagnostic Information:
Feature: MATLAB
License path: /root/.matlab/R2020a_licenses:/usr/local/MATLAB/R2020a/licenses/license.dat:/usr/local/MATLAB/R2020a
/licenses/license_john-pc_40911196_R2020a.lic
Licensing error: -9,57.
I ran ./activate_matlab.sh and activated it through the license file AND login into MathWorks online. I deleted the installation .lic in R2020a/license/ and created a new one. I tried creating a license file with every mac address I could find. Nothing works. I keep getting this error. Only once I managed to use Matlab, which was right after installing it. Then after the first time closing it I'm I have been stuck on this error for 2 days. Please help me.
Okay, I wrote to MathWorks support. And they gave me a link to their forum where I found the solution. Here it is:
https://www.mathworks.com/matlabcentral/answers/99067-why-do-i-receive-license-manager-error-9
I had to go all the way up to copying my HostID etc and set my login as root and run Matlab with sudo
But in case the link dies here it is from the MathWorks post:
The best way to resolve a License Manager Error -9 is by reactivating MATLAB with the activation client.
Windows
The activation client is located here:
C:\Program Files\MATLAB\R20XXx\bin\winXX\activate_matlab.exe
Mac
Open Finder.
Go to "Applications".
Right-click or control-click on the MATLAB application icon. (e.g. MATLAB_R2015b.app)
Click on "Show Package Contents".
Open "Activate.app".
Linux
The activation client is located here:
/usr/local/MATLAB/R20XXx/bin/activate_matlab.sh
Once you have launched the MATLAB activation client:
Select "Activate automatically using the internet."
Log into your MathWorks account.
Select the correct license.
The username field should auto-populate with the correct user name. Leave it as is.
Confirm the activation information.
Click "finish" to complete the activation process.
Restart MATLAB.
Still seeing a License Manager Error -9?
The username in the license file does not match
The Host ID in the license file does not match
You have a Designated Computer MATLAB license and MATLAB is already running under a different user account on this computer.
Confirm your Username and Host ID using the activation client:
Run the activation client and select "Activate manually without using the Internet."
Choose “I do not have a license file. Help me with the next steps.”
Copy your Host ID and Computer Login Name.
Click the back arrow 2 times and choose “Activate automatically using the Internet” then input the appropriate username.
Launch MATLAB using the appropriate user account.
Activation client requires elevated privileges to run? Connection error when Activating automatically? Still seeing a License Manager Error – 9?

SCCM 1802 - Scheduled deployment WOL not working, but RightClickTools WOL works

I have been trying to figure out why Wake On Lan works for Right Click Tools, but not for SCCM Scheduled Deployments.
In the wolmgr.log file I found this happening every five seconds: "Failed to get WOL inbox on AMT Proxy component. Wait 5 seconds... SMS_WAKEONLAN_MANAGER 9/19/2018 11:32:24 AM 480 (0x01E0)".
In the wolcmgr.log file I don't see any errors except this happening about four times a day, which I think is referring to the endless errors shown in the other log file: "CBaseCounter::Initialize - Registered performance counter "Total Number of Packets failed" SMS_WAKEONLAN_COMMUNICATION_MANAGER 9/19/2018 2:01:59 AM 9496 (0x2518)"
I have tried to look up these error messages and haven't found anything to help me get this resolved.
I have tried various ports, including the default (9) and 12287, currently it is on 7. We are being told to use subnet directed broadcasts by our network team due to some limitations with our Cisco network configuration.
I do have a SQL Server Agent (ADK) service that was disabled. I enabled it and it starts but turns off immediately. I don't know if that is related at all. I did have some deployment issues with Windows 7 drivers giving errors during the task sequence, even though they were installing. So I installed a Windows 8.1 ADK after seeing an article about bugs with the latest Win10 ADK and SCCM Task Sequences installing Win7 drivers. I've since then installed Win10 1703 ADK, which works on one of my other SCCM servers on Win7 deployments fine, and I was having this WOL problem before installing 1703 ADK.

Powershell doesn't open - error "Path cannot be the empty string or all whitespace"

I'm simply trying to open Powershell on my server. It opens for about 5 seconds and then closes, not showing any error before it closes or anything. The only thing I can see is in the Windows Powershell Event Log is that it gives the following error:
"Settings: Path cannot be the empty string or all whitespace."
I'm running WMF 4, Server 2012 R2, Exchange Server 2016 (not that I think that has anything to do with it). Any other post I've seen when I google " Powershell Path cannot be the empty string or all whitespace" always seems to have to do with someone programming. I'm just trying to open powershell.
Turns out it was a group policy setting, specifically "Computer Configuration\Policies\Windows Components\Windows Powershell\Turn on Powershell Transcripting." It had been turned on in our domain because Powershell V5 is being/has been pushed out to everyone (except for our Exchange Servers). Once I changed the setting on a GPO closer to my Exchange Servers, did a gpupdate, then restarted the server, it started working again just fine.
Also, whoever downvoted my question, would you be so kind to explain why it was downvoted? Or are you just going to be a drive by downvoter?

How do I connect to a SQL Server which is usually a machine I remote desktop into

Typically I remote into a machine with IP Address 00.00.00.00 and then I have an account in a domain, let's call it myspecialaccount\firstname.lastname.
Then I use Windows auth to connect to SQL Server instance for example:
ABCLACSQLC123\DEV04A
So my question is HOW can I connect from my laptop through SSMS directly to the machine (pending ports are open etc..)
In order to use Windows Authentication, you'd have to add the credentials you use to login to the laptop as a "Login" to the SQL Server. That can only be done if
You login to your laptop with a domain user and
The user is in the same domain in which your SQL Server instance resides
Otherwise, you have no choice but to use SQL Server Authentication.
In this case, you login to your laptop with a user in "Corp" domain, but SQL Server instance is in "Services" domain. So it won't work. Unless I think both domains are part of the same Forest.
Look at this answer : https://stackoverflow.com/a/1615431/3317709. There is no trick to login, unless you get rid of the "Network related..." error. If you are getting this error, SSMS is not even able to find your server let alone logging into it. Once you get "Login failed..." error, from that point, we can tinker and try to get thru using your windows auth.
Try creating a shortcut to runas.exe, pointing to SSMS.
C:\Windows\System32\runas.exe /netonly /user:myspecialaccount\firstname.lastname "C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft SQL Server\100\Tools\Binn\VSShell\Common7\IDE\Ssms.exe"
(The path to your SSMS exe may vary.)
When you double-click the shortcut, this will open up SSMS. You should then be able to connect to your instance (ABCLACSQLC123\DEV04A) as if it were on your local machine.
See here for more info on the runas command: https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc771525.aspx
Install SQL Server Management Studio Express on your laptop. Microsoft has made the download link obscenely hard to find on their own site, but I did manage to find it here. Download the one for your system, probably x64.
Installation isn't much easier. Once everything is extracted, run the program, and switch to the installation tab, and choose "Standalone installation or add new features". Continue along the installation, and just install the management tools.
Once installed and running, use the Connect to Server dialog (it should open when you start the program, but if it doesn't, it's the first option under the File tab), and target wherever you want to connect (IP or server name should both work). If your laptop also authenticates to the same server that handles Windows authentication for your database, you can use Windows authentication, otherwise, you'll have to create a SQL Server account to use for login.
