pure::variants Simulink Connecter - Any experience to share? - matlab

Anyone have any experiences to share regarding use of the Simulink Connector that comes with pure::variants by pure systems?
https://www.mathworks.com/products/connections/product_detail/pure-variants.html#:~:text=pure%3A%3Avariants%20is%20a,and%20producing%20individual%20product%20variants.
I'm coming to the conclusion the connector was developed on an early version (2006) of matlab but was never upgraded. In 2022b, using the VAR_Constant variant block and double clicking throws an error and reveals the use of a hidden feature (UseHG2) that was 'available' in early versions but has since been removed.
My Install info for PV is below.
Thanks,
-Chris

I am trying to add an Azure Tool kit on my eclipse and getting the below error -
No repository found at http://dl.microsoft.com/eclipse/.
I can also see that this URL is no more available -
Error 403 - This web app is stopped.
The web app you have attempted to reach is currently stopped and does not accept any requests. Please try to reload the page or visit it again soon.
Do we have a new URL for downloading the Azure Tool kit for the eclipse?
Thanks.
Thanks for the report. Our Product group is aware of this issue and is working on a resolution.
As a temporary workaround, please use https://azuredownloads.blob.core.windows.net/eclipse/ to get the latest Azure Toolkit for Eclipse. You can follow further updates about the fix on this GitHub issue.
Also, I noticed that installing via the Eclipse Marketplace works without any errors on Eclipse version 2020-12 (4.18.0) Build id: 20201210-1552.
Here is the detailed article that describes both the installation methods for reference: Installing the Azure Toolkit for Eclipse

if you are actually going to bother to go through that list if I am missing anything then tell me prehapse i installed the wrong one
when I go and create a new project it doesn't show up with apache when looking for a target runtime which is the folder for tomcat I get IBM ow2 oracle red hat red hat jboss middleware resin and SAP when I look inside all of the folders there isnt a tomcat
according to the videos that I watched I should be able to see an apache folder so am i missing something or need a different install
also, I did try an eclipse plugin for tomcat it said the server started up but I couldn't run any JSP code or find the target runtime apache folder
i have tried with tomcat versions 7 and 9 eclipse 4.10
You are missing the JST Server Adapters Extensions feature mentioned at https://wiki.eclipse.org/WTP_FAQ#How_do_I_install_WTP.3F . It contains the Tomcat support.
You have to download the tomcat zip file from the official site; most of the time version 8 or 9 will be suitable for you. extract the zip file in your pc.
open the eclipse and you will find the server view in the view menu item. create a new server with your extracted folder. I hope you get the idea. If you need more clear steps to install tomcat on eclipse please let me know. I will update this answer.
cheers...!!!

Uninstall org.eclipse.egit.psf first. It is no longer supported and you cannot upgrade egit without uninstalling it. That should solve your third group of error messages (all containing "egit" somewhere).
Afterwards, I would try to uninstall all of the ACTF components. Your upgrade should be possible afterwards.
If all else fails, you can use File -> Export -> Install -> Items to file to export a selection of currently installed plugins and install those again in another clean Eclipse installation using File -> Import -> Install. That way you could get rid of some obscure plugins and reinstall in half an hour.

Java EE perspective in eclipse

I have Standard version of eclipse Galileo. Now I want to develop enterprise applications on it. Any idea how can I get Java EE perspective? How to install Java EE tools in the standard version?
I had the same problem. I installed the latest Eclipse platform, Indigo, first using the Ubuntu Software Center, and when I didn't see the JavaEE perspective, I though I'd gotten the wrong one. I deleted that and installed the Java EE version downloadable from eclipse.org -- but still no Java EE perspective available. Then I read the advice above (and elsewhere) about installing the WTP plugins.
I decided to blow away the previous installation of Eclipse, because I prefer installing everything through the normal package management system. Then, after having installed Eclipse again, through the Ubuntu Software Center (and not seeing the Java EE perspective)... but I'll tell the rest of the story as a set of instructions:
Install Eclipse. In Ubuntu, you can do it at least in these two ways:
Go to the Ubuntu Software Center, search for eclipse, and install "Extensible Tool Platform and Java IDE"; or
Give the command sudo apt-get install eclipse eclipse-cdt eclipse-emf eclipse-emf-examples eclipse-emf-sdk eclipse-jdt eclipse-pde eclipse-platform eclipse-platform-data eclipse-rcp eclipse-rse eclipse-xsd eclipse-xsd-sdk (those are what I have after doing all these steps; they might not all be necessary, but can't hurt)
Open Eclipse, and give a directory to use as a workspace.
Go to "Help" -> "Install New Software...".
In the new dialog, in the "Work with:" pull-down list, select "Indigo - http://download.eclipse.org/releases/indigoIndigo - http://download.eclipse.org/releases/indigo".
Click the checkbox to the left of "Web, XML, Java EE and OSGI Enterprise Development".
Click the "Next >" button. The installation will start.
The dialog will now list the items to be installed, and ask you to confirm the installation. Click the "Next >" button. The installation will complete.
Now, back in the main window, in "Window" -> "Perspective", I still could not see "Java EE" -- but it might have been under the "Other" selection; I didn't check, and that's where it can be found now that I've done everything described here.
Click on "File" -> "New" -> "Dynamic Web Project". The existence of this selection means that you've successfully installed the web development tools.
Configure the project. After you've pressed "Finish", Eclipse should ask you whether you want to open the Java EE perspective.
By the way, some of those Eclipse packages that I give for installing through apt-get might have been installed during the Eclipse software update phase, as I didn't install all of them by myself. The most important ones are eclipse, eclipse-platform, eclipse-platform-data, eclipse-pde, and eclipse-rcp. The descriptions of all of them are:
eclipse - Extensible Tool Platform and Java IDE
eclipse-cdt - C/C++ Development Tools for Eclipse
eclipse-emf - Eclipse Modeling Framework (EMF)
eclipse-emf-examples - Eclipse EMF/XSD examples
eclipse-emf-sdk - Eclipse Modeling Framework (EMF) - (Source/Documentation)
eclipse-jdt - Eclipse Java Development Tools (JDT)
eclipse-pde - Eclipse Plug-in Development Environment (PDE)
eclipse-platform - Eclipse platform without plug-ins to develop any language
eclipse-platform-data - Eclipse platform without plug-ins to develop any language (data)
eclipse-rcp - Eclipse Rich Client Platform (RCP)
eclipse-rse - Eclipse Remote System Explorer (RSE)
eclipse-xsd - XML Schema Definition (XSD) for Eclipse
eclipse-xsd-sdk -
The standard edition can be upgraded to J2EE edition by installing the different plug-ins like WTP and so on.

Difference between eclipse pulsar, mtj, me

what is difference between eclipse pulsar, eclipse mtj, and eclipse me ?
Eclipse ME is an external project started in 2003. As its page says:
EclipseME has graduated to become the new Eclipse Mobile Tools for Java (MTJ) project.
The MTJ project provides all of the functionality from EclipseME 1.7.9 plus many new features and lots of bug fixes. The EclipseME project will remain open indefinitely**, but there will be no new releases of EclipseME**.
Eclipse MTJ is part of the larger DSDP (Device Software Development Platform) set of projects, which addresses a broad range of needs in the device software development space using the Eclipse platform.
MTJ is a project which "will develop frameworks that can be extended by tool vendors and tools that can be used by third-party developers."
Eclipse Pulsar takes advantage of the MTJ framework and provides a "tools integration platform" (as opposed to "an Eclipse with a plugin for mobile development".
It is a package (an Eclipse distribution).
As Chris Aniszczyk says in his blog post:
The other new package is Pulsar which was built specifically for the Mobile Java community.
Pulsar is essentially a mashup of the Eclipse SDK and the Eclipse MTJ projects with the ability of downloading more tools from different handset manufacturers.
You can compare the Pulsar package with other Eclipse packages here.
So:
External Plugin (ME) => official Eclipse project (MTJ) => Full Eclipse distribution (package, with Pulsar)
