I tried to install a package in command prompt (actin) from python.but always there is an error. I tried to solve this issue but I could not.
The package is (Actin) to calculate the indices in science.

I want to setup a private tangle on my own virtual machine with Ubuntu 18.04, 4GB RAM and 20GB memory.
I have follow this instructions: https://docs.iota.org/docs/compass/0.1/how-to-guides/set-up-a-private-tangle. Every command works fine until reach this one: bazel run //docker:layers_calculator.
It shows an error as follows:

How can I solve this problem? what I have missed?
read carefully the message given after running bazel installer:
Make sure you have "/home/yourusername/bin" in your path. You can also activate bash completion by adding the following line to your :
source /home/yourusername/.bazel/bin/bazel-complete.bash

I have solve this issue by using this commands:

If you ran the Bazel installer with the --user flag as above, the Bazel executable is installed in your $HOME/bin directory. It’s a good idea to add this directory to your default paths, as follows:
export PATH="$PATH:$HOME/bin"
You can also add this command to your ~/.bashrc or ~/.zshrc file to make it permanent.

I've tried to look for the source of the issue and it seems it's related to how it's a virtualdrive with limited rights

When I run imread('myFile.bmp', 'Format', 'bmp'), I get the same error.
If you installed everything from the Ubuntu repositories, then you are probably affected by an Ubuntu packaging issue. It was described in comment #6 of Ubuntu bug #1372202.
Since Ubuntu 15.04 has already reached end of life, they probably won't fix it. You can:
upgrade Ubuntu
build Octave from source yourself
I have installed Canopy 1.7.4.3348 (64 bit). My OS is Windows 10 (64 bit). I have the most updated Canopy and Windows 10.
When I tried to update and install any packages in Package Manager, the "Status" would turn out to be "Error", and I got the message:
IOError: [Errno 10038] An operation was attempted on something that is not a socket.
I looked up the Error code on microsoft.com (https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/desktop/ms740668(v=vs.85).aspx) and found Microsoft's definition of socket error 10038:
WSAENOTSOCK 10038
Socket operation on nonsocket.
An operation was attempted on something that is not a socket.
Either the socket handle parameter did not reference a valid socket,
or for select, a member of an fd_set was not valid.
I think this error from Canopy may only exist in Windows but not in other OS like Linux. Could anyone please kindly help with this issue? Really appreciate it!!

Please file a bug report from the Canopy help menu for Enthought tech support records (and please refer to this SO question in your report).
I don't know what causes this rare error, but it should disappear in Canopy 2.0, which uses a different package manager backend, based on the Enthought Deployment Manager (EDM).
Meanwhile, you can avoid the error by using the command-line package installer, enpkg, from a Canopy Command Prompt. Please see this Knowledge Base article for details: https://support.enthought.com/entries/22415022-Using-enpkg-to-update-Canopy-EPD-packages.
I have an issue while using apt-get to update or install something on my Raspberry pi 2 model B.
I get this error whenever I use apt-get:

E: Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (2)
I found in the Ubuntu forum that printing "1\n" to the format file would be the solution, and I tried that without succeeding.
When I print "1\n" to the format file and execute an update or install I get the following error:
dpkg: unrecoverable fatal error, aborting:
files list file for package 'acl' is missing final newline
E: Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (2)
That smells like filesystem or disk corruption. You might need to fsck it, and see if other files have been damaged, or do a badblocks check or similar.
