Im follow the tutorial from https://age.apache.org/age-manual/master/intro/setup.html to install the apache-age. The first path on my $PATH variable is not the one from the pg_config so i used the make PG_CONFIG=/path/to/postgres/bin/pg_config install command and putting the pg_config path myself. But im getting this error : (https://i.stack.imgur.com/ov0G3.png)
I tried using sudo privilages but it didnt help, this seems to be a C syntax error or something like that
See with the command pg_config (or /path/to/postgres/bin/pg_config, if it's not on your $PATH) what is the version of PostgreSQL you're using.
If you're on version 12, and if you're cloning Apache AGE from Github, you must
git checkout AGE_PG12.1.0_ALPHA
before installing Apache AGE, as, like the branch name says, the support for version 12 is still in alpha state.
You are getting this error because most probably you are cloning the master branch, and I think by mistake development code was pushed to master branch.
You should use the release version's source code to install.
You might be having this problem because PostgreSQL and Apache AGE are not compatible with each other. Please follow the following to install Apache AGE from source Code.

I'm trying to use VSCode Remote extension to connect to a remote host that runs on RHEL/CentOS 6, but it fails to connect since CentOS 6 ships with GLIBC 2.12 and GLIBCXX 3.4.1. As mentioned in this post, in order to get the extension to work, the workaround is to install GLIBC>=2.17 and GLIBCXX>=3.4.18.
Unfortunately, I don't have sudo access for the server, so I won't be able to update these libraries using the bash script provided in the link. Also, in this SO post, the author says not to update the system GLIBC since it can break down system applications. That being said, I've tried something different -- I extracted those rpm packages, as described in this blog, inside my home folder. I've then updated the env variables PATH and LD_LIBRARY_PATH in ~/.bash_profile to point to these new locations. But the node binary (in VS Code Remote) still can't find these libraries.
Is there a way to let the node binary know where to look for these libraries? More precisely, can someone explain how I can make this extension work without sudo access?
I've got it to work by installing gcc and glibc using Linuxbrew. See this post for more details: https://github.com/microsoft/vscode-remote-release/issues/103#issuecomment-546551293.
Couple of things to take note of:
Node binary versions in VS Code Server may vary between commits. In the GitHub comment above, the author uses node#10 -- you may replace it with node#12; everything would still work.
Make sure glibc and gcc are properly installed using linuxbrew. This step is key.
I am trying to CDC by debezium protobuf of postgres 9.6 and as per instruction i have downloaded source from git and trying to make then it have some problem and try to find out the solution on satckoverflow and other sites also then for ubuntu os many solution are available but for centosh 7 no solution found
The following error is coming when i fired make command
/usr/pgsql-9.6/lib/pgxs/src/makefiles/pgxs.mk:62: /usr/pgsql-9.6/lib/pgxs/src/makefiles/../../src/Makefile.global: No such file or directory
Package libprotobuf-c was not found in the pkg-config search path.
Perhaps you should add the directory containing `libprotobuf-c.pc'
to the PKG_CONFIG_PATH environment variable
No package 'libprotobuf-c' found
/usr/pgsql-9.6/lib/pgxs/src/makefiles/pgxs.mk:105: /src/Makefile.shlib: No such file or directory
make: *** No rule to make target `/src/Makefile.shlib'. Stop.
if any help it will very useful for my project.
You need a protobuf-c-devel package installed. Also there is a problem with version. Check if your system has the correct version otherwise you'd need to install it from 3rd part RPM repository - https://groups.google.com/forum/?fromgroups=#!msg/debezium/v0s3tacOXeA/gVrdQAR2AgAJ;context-place=forum/debezium
Debian Jessie, as well as sid, have a mercurial-git package which contains the hg-git plugin. However, this package was (auto-)removed from Debian Stretch to to a release-critical bug.
But - I need it installed and running. Surely this should be possible, right?
Well, I followed the installation instructions on the plugin page:
I ran apt-get install python-setuptools python-setuptools-git python4-setuptools python3-setuptools-git
I ran easy_install hg-git and it seemed to work
But still, when I run various mercurial operations I get, as the first line, the error message:
*** failed to import extension hgext.git: No module named git
(regardless of whether I'm doing anything git-related or not.)
My questions:
Why is this happening?
What do I need to do in order to make the error message go away while having hggit working?
Now,
How do I correctly install dulwich to get hg-git working on Windows?
Apparently, that critical bug doesn't manifest always (and perhaps only under very specific circumstances), so you can try installing the Debian sid version of the mercurial-git package (that is, version 0.8.11-1 at the time of writing). There's a SuperUser question about how to do this:
https://linuxaria.com/howto/how-to-install-a-single-package-from-debian-sid-or-debian-testing
my personal opinion in this case is to simply install the .deb file, which you can get from here (it's not platform-specific; at the link you'll need to choose a mirror.) That makes the error message go away, at least assuming you have:
[extensions]
hgext.bookmarks =
hggit =
in your ~/.hgrc file.
I'm unfortunately not very experienced in CentOS administration, and was hoping someone might be able to help me understand and get past a small hurdle. I was hoping to run yum update on the system, but ran into some Transaction Check Errors:

It sort of looks like it's saying that some newer version files are conflicting with older version files. Is there a standard way to fix this? I was mainly just trying to update so that I could install Java later, but wasn't expecting to run into these errors. If it helps, the server is mainly being used for hosting a few websites with apache and mysql. Thanks so much for any help, it's greatly appreciated.
Edit: To add some more clarification, I had previously edited the baseurl variable in the /etc/yum.repos.d/centalt.repo file, which was originally set to
baseurl=centos.alt.ru/repository/centos/6/$basearch
The reason I changed the location was because I was previously getting an error when trying to run yum update, mentioned in this other stackoverflow question https://unix.stackexchange.com/questions/132674/repository-metadata-repomd-xml-for-repository-mratwork-centalt which had an answer recommending replacing the URL with
baseurl=mirror.sysadminguide.net/centalt/repository/centos/6/$basearch
Is there a different url I should be using instead?
You have a non-official repository which provides the php55-* packages which conflict with the official php-* packages.
You currently have the php-* versions installed.
If you want to switch you can try manually installing the matching php55-* package for every php-* package you have installed in one yum command (though that may not work).
If it doesn't, you might need to remove all the php packages you have installed first and then install the php55 versions after that.
So, I'm trying to set up an E-Mail server on an Ubuntu 10.04 VPS and when I try to use the command sudo apt-get install mail-stack-delivery (the package that I usually would use to get postfix and dovecot) it throws an error saying
E: Couldn't find package mail-stack-delivery
I was wondering if anybody has had this issue before or sees something I'm doing blatantly wrong? I set up a test server earlier today using the exact same command and the package installed just fine.
EDIT: This is a fresh server, I have not done anything to it beyond whatever stock configuration is done by ChicagoVPS
Okay, the problem was that the file '/etc/apt/sources.list' didn't contain the universe repository. To fix this, just edit it with VIM and add the repository.
