How Do I create an Xcode Source Editor Extension?

I would like to create an Xcode Source Editor Extension. A tutorial from this website shows a template for this in the new project menu. However, as of Xcode 11.5, this is missing from the list of templates. Is there still a way to do this?
As stated in the documentation,
begin by creating a new macOS project in Xcode. Add a new Xcode Source Editor Extension target to your project
In other words, first create a new project. Then create a new target in said project. That target being an Xcode Source Editor Extension.

.Xib creates error when running the project with Xcode 4.6.1

Please someone help me out.
MY Mac OS(10.8.5) is updated and me also using the Xcode 5, but i have my previous Xcode 4.6.1 also installed in my mac. When i run my project through Xcode 5 then it's OK but when i run my project through Xcode 4.6.1 then it show that error which you seen in the image.and can't run the project.
This has a very simple answer.
Open the Project file on Xcode 5, And then
1.Open file inspector
2.On Interface Builder Documents section change Open with to Xcode 4.6 (if it's 5.x).
3.Click Revert, Close the project and open that with old Xcode.
you can do the same thing on Xcode 4.6 to work with older version.
Happy coding.. :)
1)Goto your xcode5 see your StoryBoardFile go to Assistant Editor preview option.
2)Then Goto file inspector see first tab
3)Select your interface Builder Documents 4.6
4) One Alert popup they ask you Revert to Xcode 4.6 format? select Revert
Follow this step and open your project in your old xcode project.

xcode3 xcode4 project file sharing?

I'm sharing xcode4 project through svn.
Wonder if it'll be ok for another user to use xcode3.
I read xcode3 and xcode4 can read the same project file.
However, when you share the project file using svn file, it's a bit different story.
(Mainly I'm(with xcode4) worried of possibilities that I'll have to rebuild project on every other person(with xcode3)'s commit or vice versa)
Has anyone done this?
From XCode 4 User Guide
Xcode 4 can open an Xcode 3 project
without difficulty. You can open the
project in any of the usual ways:
Control-click the project and choose
Xcode 4, drag the project onto the
Xcode 4 icon, or choose File > Open to
open the project. You can have both
Xcode 3 and Xcode 4 installed on your
system at the same time without
conflict. You can open a project in
either program, save it, then open it
in the other program without
invalidating the project or losing any
data.
Xcode 4 reads and builds projects
created in Xcode 2.1 through the
latest release of Xcode 3. Projects
created with Xcode 4 can be opened and
built on Xcode 3.2 and later.
Opening and building a project in
Xcode 4 does not upgrade or alter it.
Changes you make to a project in Xcode
4 remain compatible with earlier
versions of Xcode.
General interoperability works fine. But if you use Xcode 4's integrated unit testing (running "application tests" in the simulator), those won't work in Xcode 3.
I did this already at it was no problem. Xcode 3 and Xcode 4 are using the same formats, only the interfaces differe.

Can I run Xcode 4 Project in Xcode 3?

I download the One Example which had been in Xcode 4. I have Xcode 3 therefore, I can't run the Project. Please let me know is it Possible to run Xcode 4 Project in Xcode 3?
Yes, this is possible. Xcode4 saves the Xcode4 specific settings in a file that isn't used by Xcode3. But the project "layout" (which files should be compiled, compiler settings etc) is still in Xcode3 compatible files. And all the .m, .h .xib files are of course in the same format as in Xcode3
But since "I can't run the Project" isn't a helpful error description I can't help you further.

Export a project to Xcode

Is possible to import already created project (using Xcode 3.2.4 and iOS SDK 4.1) to Xcode 3.2.5 and iOS SDK 4.2
If you have an excode project you can simply copy all the files in the project's directory and move them wherever you want or zip them, and then simply open the project file from the new location!
You can simply copy the whole project folder and then later simply double click the .xcodeproject file and you have imported it.
hope it helps if you have some other questions just ask it
