iPhone 4.0 Beta compile for 3.1.3 - iphone

I downloaded the iPhone 4.0 Beta. But for my projects I need to compile for 3.1.3 to be able to still submit my projects to the App Store. If I run an old project that isn't a problem I can see all the versions, but when I start a new project I can only pick the 4.0 beta, how can I fix this?

Open your project. In XCode open the project settings (Project -> Edit Project Settings). Choose the build tab, and pick an appropriate Base SDK from the options under the architecture group.

You should not submit apps with beta versions of the SDK. Rather install beta SDKs alongside one for production builds.

Running the XCode 3.1 application in XCode 4.1?

I am new developer on iPhone. My problem is that I have installed the XCode 4.1 after changed the settings in the edit project settings it shows XCode 3.1 is missing so if any one know about it give me solution to solve the problem.
you should set the base SDK version in project settings and Target settings as well.
you should check if you have specified the base SDK at both places.
Best of luck.
click on your project under project navigator. then go to build settings
change the base SDK to your 4.x. do it in both project and target.

How to compile apps for multiple versions of ios sdks?

I have an app, and I want to compile it for iOS 4.1 iPhone system, but I only have SDK 4.3 on my Mac. Can I compile that for 4.1? How can I configure it? Or so I need to install 4.1 SDK onto my Mac? How can I install it?
You can use SDK 4.3, XCode > Select a project > Project menu > Edit Project Settings > scroll to iOS Deployment Target > select a lower version your app supports

Upgrading Existing XCode iPhone Project to 3.2.3

I upgraded xcode to 3.2.3 and loaded an existing project I had created with a prior version of xcode. It seems to compile fine as I have set up the correct deployment target and base sdk. When I look under Groups & Files, the Framework group, the Framework files are red and are pointing to the old framework files which don't exist anymore.
My question is should I be removing these Framework files and readding them to the project to point to the new ios4 versions of the framework?
Steps For Upgrade Project in updated Xcode
1--> You Have To set Base Sdk From Project-->info-->build
2--> Confirm From Project under Target -->info-->build
And Compile your Project

XCode can't find base SDK

XCode 3.2.3 Beta does not allow building for below 3.2.
I opened a project that was made in an earlier XCode.
For some reason, the base SDK is reported as missing even after changing it to 4.0.
Other projects from earlier XCode do not have this issue.
What can I do?
If you can't choose the SDK at the top left of x-code you have to first
set the base SDK in the project settings.
Project -> Edit Project Settings.
Then choose the "General" tab.
At the bottom you can choose "Base SDK for all Configurations:"
Happy to hear it worked!

Editing the .pbxproj in your .xcodeproj might help. In the XCBuildConfiguration section there are values for SDKROOT.
This question has more details on the situation: Install xCode 3.2.3 w/ iPhone SDK 4, get "Base SDK missing", can't see other SDKs
I found I had to edit the Base SDK setting for each of the different build configurations, then the error went away. You need to fix "Release", "Debug" and any others.

How to switch versions of iPhone SDK?

Now that I installed SDK 3.2 for my iPad development, I need to build with the previous version for my old iTouch. Is this possible to switch or do I have to uninstall 3.2, install 3.1.x and re-install 3.2 in a "versioned" folder?
If you go to build settings (right click on your project and click info) you can set the base sdk for the project. the setting is right up the top of the list. if you set it back to 3.0 (for example) then you can choose all releases from then till now.
