I'm trying to connect to a vnc server from iPhone using NoVNC.
I have some issues with "mouse" which behaves very irrationally.
Has anyone experienced the same behaviour ?

I am the noVNC maintainer. Supporting mobile devices with touchscreens has been on my list for a while. I just filed a issue to track this feature.
Supporting touchscreen interfaces is quite different from normal mouse support. Also, noVNC will probably need to have viewport support for usability and performance reasons on mobile devices.
I do have an iPhone, and I do want to get this functionality working, but I'm not sure when I'll be able to get around to it. Help is always welcome. :-)

Is it possible to send and receive data between iPhone and other phones such as blackberry or android over wifi. I am on the move it to create an iPhone app with the above functionality. Can any one has previous experience in this, or any sample codes to do this. I have searched a lot but couldn't find anything relevant.
you can do this by using a server application. So the iphone pushes the data to the server and the other devices are either getting push notifications or something similar or simply poll for the data.
Without a server, you have the trouble of finding the other devices. If its safe to assume they are all on the same subnet, then you could use a UDP broadcast to do this.
There's many ways of doing this, every one with its own pitfalls. So there's no generic answer to this question without knowing in more detail what's the purpose of it.
I need to create a blackberry application that connects two phones for information exchange. One of these phones should support several incoming connections at the same time and serve them all. The other phones should not see any other phones except the central one.
What would be the best way to achieve this? Connecting through sockets? Data Services? Internet? What would be the advantages/disadvantages of each?
To asses the advantages and disavantages of each method one would really need to know the full requirments of you project. That said though, I would suggest you look at the BlackBerry Messenger SDK. The SDK nicely abstracts away all the issues with mobile-to-mobile communications.
I am trying to allow people (from a URL) to connect to a calender/contacts from their iPhone, Blackbury or Android phone - what is the best way to do this?
I've had a bit of a read and it seems that CalDAV and CardDAV are the best way to integrate calenders/contacts, but how exactly can I do this? The internet seems to lack a standard way of how you can integrate this into a number of devices.
Which mobile devices support them? And is it possible to just provide a URL and then the calender/contacts just automatically sync!?
All of this assumes you have some sort of Groupware server setup somewhere which acts as the repository for this information.
For opensource you might want to look at a product called Sogo. Apple also do a caldav/carddav server written in python. They expect you to buy a mac server but you can download the code and run it from a pc or linux box. There's a heap of paid-for groupware.
You might want to check out the "opensource" client software written by the same kids who develop Sogo caled funambol. This claims to be x-mobile (all the ones youve mentioned anyway).
The idea behind all the *DAV protocols is that yes everything is done by Uri (this was actually specced by Tim Berners Lee in his draft for the web).
I've just been through this very same process and found only emerging standards, of which *DAV are the de facto ones IMO. HTC use MS active sync on my HD2 to sync my Gmail. Go figure!
Bedework is CalDAV/CardDAV server that allows you to hook your iPhone/iCal calendar and events.
I have used it and it gives you an url to sign in with in you phone calendar. The Bedework is a server you could install on you machine (it is provided with documentation; this is a good point to start with).
Android natively does not support Bedework. In order for Android to support the CalDAV you have to install an application that supports CalDAV, but I do not know if they work with Bedewrok or not.

I am currently working on a project where I need to access a build in camera (software will run on a tablet), stream what the camera is showing, and allow the user to take a picture from the stream. I have a version of what I am trying to accomplish on my laptop with its built in camera working. The major difference is the Laptop is using windows XP the tablet is using windows 7.
Running the software on the tablet I get an exception (with some research it appears that exception is cause by no WIA device found). Is it possible that the built in Camera is not WIA compatible? The device does show in the Device Manager as an USB Camera Device, but unlike the camera on my laptop I can't access it directly. I have to use 3rd party software put in by the tablet maker to get the camera to work.
Has anyone experience similar problems? I have to believe if the tablet maker can do what I need I should be able to do something similar.
There also is the Windows Portable Device API that can access cameras, but that appears to be written in c++, without a .NET wrapper. Does anyone know of a simple tutorial of how I could get .NET to place nice with it? EDIT: Just tried WPD didn't list any devices either. I am beginning to thing this camera doesn't exist.
Any knowledge/ pointers to resources would be appreciated. (So far google has turned up the same few articles, no matter which way I approach the problem)
Turns out my Camera was not WIA compatible. I was able to get the tablet to do what I needed it to do using directshow (actually directshow.net)

Is there any way that we can programatically identify when the wifi of a user becomes available/unavailable?
My application requires exchanging messages between two different devices. It is working good in stable wifi setups. But if the wifi is unstable, I am having trouble in detecting if the other device is available or not.
I am not sure if this is expected, but my bonjour based NSNetService discoverer is not updating the available devices list automatically. This leaves me with a list of services that are not available for the exchange.
My line of thinking was to remove all the available services from the list and start a fresh search.
Please let me know if I am thinking in the right direction to solve the right problem.

Perhaps the Reachability sample code provided by Apple will help you in this regard. Although there have been people who say it hasn't been updated in a while, in which case, here is an actively maintained fork.
It seems like you can register for notifications so you can get frequent information on the state of the network.
