SugarCRM SOAP: Logging and Closing "Calls" - soap

I'm trying to log Telephone Calls made via Skype to SugarCRM. I've been able to get as far as hooking onto Skype Events, creating a Call record in Sugar via SOAP (with status as Held or Not Held).
However, any call that I log as "Not Held" remains in an "Open" state (with that x mark beside it) in the Activities section and doesn't float up to the History subpanel.
Now if one clicks on the 'x' mark to close the call, the status changes to HELD and only then it moves up to History - which beats the purpose, as I want to log Unsuccessful Calls too.
Is this the default and unavoidable behavior of SugarCRM or is there a way to mark the call as not held and YET close it down? I don't seem to find any field in the sugar database that corresponds to the Close button.

I would add two records to the database close held and closed not held in sugar itself, and analyse the columns that have been updated in the database.
Then just update those columns too as part of your SOAP call.
Love the fact you've got skype logging to sugar... awesome!

You just need to update the status field with a value of 'Held' or 'Not Held' to have it show up in the History panel. I would check the database to make sure the value is being set correctly, and that you are putting in either 'Held' or 'Not Held' verbatim.

How to lock on to a cloned form in Delphi?

I am writing a chat program that has a bunch of clients connect to it and populate themselfs to a listview, I want to be able to click on each individual client and open up a form that looks like a chat, but I want to be able to do it to multiple clients at the same time.
I have made Form2 (the chat window) clone itself for every instance, however I need to know how to lock on to the cloned form to make changes such as Form2.RichEdit.Lines.Add
However when I try to do this it does not work because I'm not locking on to the right form since it is cloned I am assuming it is no longer Form2
Any info on this would be highly appreciated.
Update
I am going to go ahead a reword what I am trying to do.
I will explain what im trying to do: I have a chat program (server) that is listening for clients to connect via Indy10 sockets When the client connects it populates the ListView with the user name and when I click on the user name (the server) opens privatemessageform where I can chat with the client.
I want to be able to have multiple clients connected and I want to be able to click on as many as I want and have it clone the privatemessageform and have 2 separate chat windows to 2 separate clients
The problem is: When trying to click on the seccond user the program gets confused and cannot lock on to that seccond user's privatemessageform (clone).
And if any more info is needed and I mean anything at all please do not hesitate to ask I will be on for several hours and constantly checking this thread.
I've been stuck on this for 3 days so I would really love to get this resolved and move forward with my project. Any information is highly appreciated. Thanks in advance!
Open Project Options and remove Form2 from auto-creation list. Do not use that variable any more.
Rename TForm2 to some meaningful name. Once you would have ~10 forms in your program you would forget what you meant by numbers 2, 5, 7 ...
ALWAYS give variables meaningful names, that includes components, that includes forms. Here i will name TForm2 a TPrivMessageForm
Use a special array of variables to keep several forms, not a single global variable. For example like that:
Type TChatUser = string;
// to begin with, user is a name. Then it may become URL, or GUID or something
// complex like `record` or `class` or whatever
Type TPMForms = TDictionary<TChatUser, TPrivMessageForm>;
PMForms := TPMForms.Create;
Creating new private message window after clicked on user:
if not PMForms.ContainsKey(ClickedUser)
then PMForms.Add(ClickedUser, TPrivMessageForm.Create(Application) );
PMForms[ClickedUser].ChatWith := ClickedUser; // variable in ex-TForm2 to tell several instances apart
When such form is closed - it should via its OnClose
Remove itself from PMForms list (so no dangling pointers would remain)
chose caRelease for closing actions (making VCL actually free the form object)

PS. Edit your question please and add TAG with your specific Delphi version.
PPS. download ready-made FLOSS chat programs and just read and learn how they do it. Maybe instead of opening a free-floating (cluttering desktop) form you'd better open Tab in PageControl. "Use the Source, Luke"

For the latter to find the sources one has to type two words "Visual IRC" at www.google.com and get http://sourceforge.net/p/visualirc/mercurial/ci/default/tree/ - this crucial information i did omitted in fair belief that a person interested in finding sources would be able to do it on his own.
PPPS. Those is not "cloned": cloned are separated objects. What you talk is several instances of the same form class. Like you may have two or more labels on the form, you can have two or more forms in your application.

Access 2010 Form.Repaint - Hanging

I'm hopefully missing something obvious here...
I have just kicked off developing a new Access 2010 application. Something personal and hopefully simple.
The first thing I need to do is read a bunch of files off of the hard drive. I parse the contents adding the information to a table if it doesn't already exist.
Code works fine, that's not the issue. As it can take a while I've added a simple progress dialog using a standard form but in dialog/popup mode. As the For Each loop of the FSO.Folder.Files object is progressed I send some information to a couple of text boxes and issue a Me.Repaint (have also tried DoCmd.RepaintObject acForm, "FormName").
The issue is that I can get anywhere from 5% to 35% of the process complete before the repaints stop responding. The form only repaints when it gets to 100%.
The process uses limited recursion - if there is a subfolder - it calls itself to process that subfolder, but the folder structure is fairly linear so not many of those.
There are nothing bound to the form. All table updates happen in code and via RecordSets.
Any ideas why Access stops responding?
Cheers,
Roy
Add DoEvents after Repaint. That will cause Access to yield to Windows, which will can then handle its pending tasks ... such as updating the display in this case.
Actually, if your code updates text boxes, I don't see why you need to Repaint the form in order to display the changes. Try something like this instead ...
Me.MyTextBox = "hello"
DoEvents

Has anyone used SlickGrid with the updated drag functions jquery.event.drag-2.2.js?

I read from the threedubmedia site "The previous version of this plugin allowed this method to be overloaded with arguments to additionally bind handlers for "dragstart" and "dragend" in a single call, but this is no longer supported." but since I haven't actually read every line of the code I was wondering if this has already been accounted for?
Yes I upgraded to v2.2 (Updated: 2012-05-21) and it works fine for me.
I actually had an issue with 'dragend' event getting missed sometimes with v2.0.
I was doing some operations at the end of 'dragend' event (like when user stops resizing column width), but sometimes the operation won't trigger because this event was missed. Actually one had to resize rather quickly and release mouse soon to get the problem in v2.0.
After upgrading to v2.2 those issues are gone.

How to show previous url after user has canceled dialog with message from Activity#mayStop()?

In our app we need to check if the data is saved when we are in a particular place before navigating away from it. So the user should be able to negate a browser back button request. But by the time that the history value change event is received the url has already been changed. The History class doesn't seem to have a way to restore the url back. Anybody have any ideas?
In GWT 2.1 you get Activities and Places. And activity has a maystop method, which is exactly what you want, if I understand you correctly.
Use a window.onunload or window.onbeforeunload javascript callback to confrim/save state.
onbeforeunload example
I haven't actually implemented this behavior yet, but here is my plan and maybe it will work for you.
1) Each time you receive an onHistoryChanged event and decide to allow it, save the current historyToken in an instance variable somewhere.
2) Keep track of activity on the page that should block navigation. Use a data structure that can keep track of multiple activities, like multiple file uploads, multiple edits, etc.
3) When you receive a new onHistoryChanged event, if your data structure from #2 indicates that it's not safe to navigate, avoid changing the page and restore the historyToken that you saved in #1. I'm assuming that you can do this either by:
a) Calling History.newItem(oldHistoryToken, false) or
b) Calling History.newItem(oldHistoryToken, true) and keeping a flag to force the next onHistoryChanged to be ignored.
Again, I haven't actually implemented this so let me know how it works out.
If you have links that allow the user to leave the app and you want to prevent that as well, you'll need to also add an onbeforeunload.
Have a look at the PlaceManagerImpl class from the gwt-platform framework. Especially the onValueChange() method and the methods dealing with the onLeaveQuestion field.
Hope that helps.
In this issue report, t.broyer explains in his comment that such behavior was planned during design of Places framework. The most important part is:
mayStop was a mistake, or it should have only been called when unloading the app, not for internal navigation within the app.
So probably it's better to not use it at all...

WatiN SelectList Methods - Page not refreshing/actions not being fired after interacting with a select list

Preface:
If you don't care about the preface, skip down to the section marked "Question."
Hi,
Recently my company has upgraded to the latest version of WatiN for its test automation framework. We upgraded to avoid a problem where interacting with a select list would cause an ACCSES DENIED error. This error seems to be a product of the fact that our web application reloads the page it is on (which sits in a frame which sits in a frameset) with new fields after certain select lists options are selected. It could also be that our framework, which wraps around WatiN, often does actions on the same SelectList after the page refresh (I'm still looking into this, I'm new to the framework).
The new version of WatiN does solve the ACCESS DENIED error, but also seems to stop select lists from firing the action that causes the page to reload w/ its new options. In fact, if you use WatiN to make the selection, the select list won't work correctly, even if manually interacted with, until the page has been forced to refresh.
Question:
When selecting an option in a SelectList using the newest WatiN code, the event that causes our web app's page to reload with new fields/values does not execute. What are some possibilities that could cause this?
The term i've seen used most often to describe the refreshing that occurs when our select lists are used is "double post-back".
Many thanks,
Chad
This is part of the new WatiN code. The new code, if you look into the SelectList class has comments about the fact that it has been changed so that these events don't exactly fire. It says something along the lines of "you may need to use a key press or other event to get a select list to fire its events".
This didn't work for me so we went back to the old code.
One thing that has helped is wrapping calls to the select list w/ a try/catch(System.UnauthorizedAccess e) and then doing a .Refresh on the select list object. Afterwards, the call can be retried and it seems to work pretty well.
