I have few html pages from my old site that I want to place somewhere on the server where my Liferay theme is and link to those from my Liferay site. Where to save these pages?
I created one folder under the _diffs folder named 'HTML', put the html pages there and did the linking from there. It works well, but I was wondering if I am allowed to play with the folder structure of my theme like this? If not, how to approach this?

If you are having a web server in front of the liferay portal for e.g.: Apache, I would prefer to keep those HTML files in apache documentRoot and access it from there keeping liferay themes clean.
If you are using Liferay 6.1 you can check a feature called Liferay Sync. It allows you to share documents. I have not used it yet.

I'm working in an AEM project and part of development we are accessing the content using http://localhost:4502/editor.html/content/xyz/en/app.html.
While navigating to another page it is redirecting me to http://localhost:4502/editor.html/content/xyz/en/inko-app (observe carefully the link is without .html extension) and in order to see the new webpage I had to add .html extension manually.
Is there anyway I can automate this only for development environment?

Can you check if in your sightly or java where you are declaring the page path, have you added .html as extension or not?.
For exmaple :
In your sightly if you are getting page path as "${currentPage.path}", the value will be without html, you need to explicitly add .html to
"${currentPage.path}.html" like this.
I'm trying to find a solution for files uploading directly with TinyMCE. Imagine creating a list of pdf files by uploading them using a custom button.
Is there something already done I can use? collective.clipboardupload seems to be a solution only for images.
collective.quickupload serves us well for such purposes and has a very good UI.
You can add that gadget as a portlet and make it only visible in edit-mode via CSS.
In our case we assigned the portlet to a certain content-type ('Gallery') instead to a location.
MoxieManager may be what you're looking for. It's a premium plugin made by the same developers as TinyMCE itself.

I am new to TYPO3 and got a problem. I have an existing website (6.2) and an old site (4.5).
Problem is that the old site has a lot of pages which should be migrated into the new site. The existing pages of the old site contain only regular content records. I want to avoid to copy hundreds of pages manually.
My idea is to upgrade the old site from 4.5 to 6.2. And then somehow copy the existing branches/pages eg. with help of sql? Does someone has experience with it?
If this might not work is it possible to copy at least the structure of the branches/pages? Means the content needs to be copied manually but at least page title, url etc. can be copied by sql?
I have installed TYPO3 on my web server and it use the "Introduction Package" template.
The problem is that I have to work on another TYPO3 online website that use a custom template.
Can I obtain the template of the online website and use it on my local website? (to perform some test in local).
I saw that TYPO3 uses various templating systems and I do not know how this could affect the export\import operation. In Joomla or WP I simply take the template directory and then I copy it into the themes directory but I think that in TYPO3 this operation could be more complex.
The fastest way is to copy these directories:
fileadmin
uploads
typo3conf/ext
and the complete database, then you have "cloned" the original website locally. (assuming that the core stuff is loaded the default way, with symlinks)
Then you just need to edit the database connection stuff and maybe some paths for image magick and so on in the typo3conf/LocalConfiguration.php.
I am trying to move my Joomla1 website from localhost to my bluehost.com domain. For testing I have created a subdirectory on my domain for testing and moved all my Joomla! files to this. I have created this subdirectory under the public_html folder.
I am using different menus on the front page (custom page) and remaining pages. My problem is that the menu items on the front page are looking for pages in a subdirectory named joomla instead of looking for pages in my subdirectory (testing)
Based on suggestions from some websites I thought changing mosConfig_absolute_path will help but my configuration.php file in the testing subdirectory doesn't have a property called mosConfig_absolute_path. I do not face this problem on any of the menu items on the other pages.
Can someone please help me with this problem and how I should overcome it. Thanks.
The variable you're talking about is $mosConfig_absolute_path rather than $msConfig_absolute_path. You will also need to reset $mosConfig_live_site.
Also, migrating to Joomla! 1.5 would avoid this issue entirely; it automatically detects your base path and URL.
