Python kernel crashed (win-64bit) - enthought

I am supporting a user who is trying to use Canopy. Every time she starts the program the kernel crashes. I installed the program myself and viewed another install which work fine. I believe her issue is that the .ipython and .matplotlib foders are not getting installed in her home directory.
The same issue arises with the 32-bit client after all updates are applied.

Check that local machine dependencies for macOS application exist

Having an issue with my app crashing if a local dependency is missing. I'm building a macOS application -- using Swift 5 in Xcode -- that uses a library, which then wraps a C++ library (librdkafka). If I install librdkafka using homebrew everything works as expected with no issues.
If I uninstall librdkafka however, the application crashes before even opening, and a window is displayed explaining why it crashed: because it cannot find librdkafka (as expected since I purposefully uninstalled librdkafka)
I understand why this is crashing, but what I am trying to figure out is if there is a way to gracefully handle the scenario where librdkafka does not exist on the local machine?
I implemented a function to check the file itself exists and I call it in applicationWillFinishLaunching in the delegate, but the app crashes before that function is called, so thats no good.
My second thought would be to maybe fork the repo and tweak the imports here: https://github.com/IBM-Swift/SwiftKafka/blob/master/Sources/Crdkafka/shim.h -- but I am not 100% sure if this is the best way.
Thanks!

Changes made to app are not being retained once run session ends

Let's say I'm connected to an actual device, making multiple changes to my app and hot-reload/restart is doing its thing and life's all good. Once I'm satisfied with changes I hit the stop button.
Now, if I pick up the phone and launch the app - it will be an older version of the app that doesn't contain the changes just implemented.
In order to get most recent changes I have to uninstall app from the phone and then go back into the IDE (VSC) and run the app once more to get the latest changes.
Is there a configuration setting that allows you to avoid having to do this?
It is my understanding that while you are developing, and hot-reloading/restarting, you are working on the Dart Virtual Machine. So if you don't make a full build and install the APK on your device then once you close the development build you are working on the VM closes and the code that was running on it is lost.
To answer your question, there is no configuration that you can set to have what is running on the VM to be on the APK without a full build.

installing android x86 in a virtual machine

I am following the instructions given HERE
I can install it to the vmware hard disk fine and get it running, but then it says to open a terminal and execute su
The terminal says that it cannot make me a root and nothing else
I am not able to go any further after this and so the internet isn't working in the virtual machine
Moreover, the internet works if I was just using the live CD version, without me having to do anything else
How do I get root permissions in android x86 on VMware?
--- EDIT---
After playing around some more with this I have noticed another problem: when I try to start the virtual machine, most of the times it reaches the Chrome coloured android startup logo, the logo animates continuously but the screen is sort of stuck at that phase. And if I loose focus to the vmware window and come back, I see that the window is blank and I am not sure if the virtual machine is even further loading or not. How do I properly get Android x86 to work on vmware (with full install on it's virtual hard disk and not just the live CD version? Should I try other virtual machines? I have not been able to get others such as qemu and bochs to work in the past and see that vmware is the easiest and most stable option, so I would like to run this in vmware if possible.
check here www.bitdirect.nl/?p=128
I followed this with a few little tweaks here and there and it worked perfectly.
only downside is transferring data outside of the android os is a pain.

Windows Phone SDK 7.1 Emulator Complete Re-boot Error

I thank you all for reading this lengthy question. It's really important and I will appreciate it if you can assist me :)
The problem -------
I am have been using the Windows 7.1 SDK for about two months now. The emulator has worked without any problem so far. However, today, it began displaying this error (The saved state (Name of File).dess is corrupt. Please delete the corrupted saved state file and then retry). I had not made any significant changes to my project code, or moved any files. I had just added some Visual State animations for a button.
As it suggested, I went ahead to delete the file. I then started debugging again. However, the emulator now opened and displayed the message (Windows Phone Emulator is doing a complete OS reboot). This message was displayed for a very long time. I closed the emulator and project. Since then, I have been unable to use the emulator. I am able to code normally in Visual Studio, but I cannot test my application.
What I have tried ------
I read up on this issue and found many others who faced the same emulator issue. Following their suggestions, I have run one repair of the Windows Phone SDK 7.1. I have also tried uninstalling and then re-installing the SDK 7.1 once.
System Specifications -----
I am using Visual Studio Express 2010 for Windows Phone (Windows 7 64 bit)
I have downloaded the Windows Phone SDK 7.1 from this link: http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=258412
I have read that this issue might be because of some hardware incompatibility. However, I think my machine is compatible with the emulator. Here is some information.
DirectX Version: DirectX 11
8GB RAM
Driver Model: WDM 1.1
Additional Information:
I have read that installing the 'January Update' might fix this issue. I tried downloading the update from this link: http://www.microsoft.com/enus/download/details.aspx?id=23854
However, the installer said that the update is not compatible with the product/version of the product I am using.
Usually the Repair function of the WP7.1 SDK is enough to fix all the issues. It runs the generation of the saved state of the emulator again.
Please try to delete files in %ProgramData%\Microsoft\XDE folder first (make sure you backup them somewhere else.), then run the emulator. If the emulator runs with a message "Windows Phone Emulator is doing a complete OS boot," let it boot. It takes some time though. This way you will know that the emulator actually can run on your computer. This won't generate a new saved state image, but the emulator should at least load.
Next, try installing WP7.1.1 SDK update from http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=29233. This update also installs additional 256MB emulator image besides the original 512MB image. It also generates emulator's saved states in the process, potentially fixing the issue.
If everything fails, then try these instructions to fix the saved state of the emulator:
Uninstall WP7.1 SDK
Manually delete these folders:
%ProgramData%\Microsoft\XDE
%LocalAppData%\Microsoft\XDE
Install WP7.1 SDK again.
Install WP7.1.1 SDK update: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=29233.
Edit:
Btw, have you tried to reboot your computer? Once this fixed the issue for me.
Alright, I managed to solve this problem.
I reinstalled Windows and downloaded the SDK 7.1 again. The emulator works fine now!
#Paulos, thanks for helping!
I had the same problem for a long time. Try this:
Start up Visual Studio 2010, but before you start debugging, click on the tabs of all the open pages so that all the xaml pages and code behind pages can load.
I noticed it when I opened Visual Studio, but the first open page was a code behind page and not an xaml page, so when I first clicked on the tab of a xaml page, of course, it took some time to load the xaml page into the editor. However, when that and one or more open xaml pages were also loaded, the emulator started without the error message.

Mindstorms: Installation of NXT2.0f3 patch for Mac OS X Lion 10.7.3

Looking for installation help with NXT2.0f3 patch for mindstorms NXT 2.0 software on iMac w/ Lion 10.7.3. Base software installation from CD works fine (with some minor glitches once the NXT software is running that I can live with for now); however, applying the NXT2.0f3 patch (so-called Mac software fix downloaded from Lego) prevents NXT application startup. On application startup, I get an alert box with
"Error Code: 1003" stating that a required file is broken. The program then quits. No useful information (like a filename) there.
Mindstorms phone support wasn't helpful. Did reinstalls five times with different combinations of 32-bit and 64-bit mode OSX. Also tried installing driver package from CD to repair installation (after patch was applied), but no luck.
Has anyone got this working, or run into the same problem and have a solution?
