I updated my action.json for my Google action and uploaded it, but do I need to get my app re-approved now? It shows the modified time and "publishing" so I think the answer is no, but wanted to check.
If you updated the action package, then you do need to resubmit for review. However, if the content in the webhook is updated, then you do not need to resubmit it.

I submitted my app for permissions review and provided all the required info, but somehow the reviewers reviewed the wrong version of the app (they should have reviewed the one in open Beta, which is the currently published version in Google Play). How can I make them see the error of their ways and review the correct version? Please don't tell me I have to put my app into production first; in order to get to production, I need to add code that will make use of the requested permissions.
I received a message from Facebook yesterday and straightened them out on which URL to use.
While trying to submit an OpenGraph action to Facebook, the feedback we receive states that we should use mention tagging instead of action tagging:
The Action Tagging additional property can only be used when the tagged user is also performing the real action. Otherwise use the Mention Tagging additional property to include another user in the story.
But in our instructions on how to reproduce the action, we clearly state we implement "mention tagging", and as far as I can tell, the app complies with the requirements as listed in the documentation.
What could cause FB to believe we use action tagging instead of mention tagging?
Is there a way to receive more specific information on the failed submission?
I had the same problem and it was a pain in the backside for weeks as I kept resubmitting my open graph action for approval and it was continually rejected. My solution was to:
a) update the description to ensure that I made it clear that the app was using mention tagging rather than action tagging.
b) I used a timeline screenshot that clearly showed the words "FB friend" was mentioned in your profile (where "FB friend" is the name of the friend you have chosen for the mention tag).
As Facebook doesn't actually review and approve the iOS app, its reviewers can only go on the description and screenshots you provide. So, if it's not getting through, you need to make it absolutely clear in idiot-proof steps, exactly what your app does. If you continue to get rejections, ask the reviewers for help within the submission text - sometimes that gets a better response that will help direct you!
I want to resubmit an existing action so that it gets the new News Feed previews (larger, more prominent object links, which more recently submitted actions are generating). If I resubmit the action, will it be publicly unavailable until re-approved?
UPDATE:
For everyone's reference (and reassurance), this is what a resubmitted live action looks like within the Developer dashboard:
If you resubmit the action, it will not affect the status of your already live submission. :)
You can have a look here: Resubmitting Actions
Does anybody know how to provide screenshots when you submit your action for approval? I got notification says changes needed, and they ask me for screenshots from my site where action is used. I deleted the original action because there isn't a resubmit link. But I don't find where to attach screenshots as well in the submission process. Any hint? Thanks a lot!
Upload the image file to a webserver or image hosting service and then include a links with the usage instructions when you submit your action for review.
Now, I am going to submit my app for approving. The problem is that, when the first time logging the app, you have to enter a verification code provided by me (by email or oral to my target user). So how can I give the code for approving.
May be I could set a default verification code programmatically, but when the app is approved , I have to update the app to disable the default verification code and this lead to another approve process.
So, can someone give me some advice to solve this problem?
When you're in iTunesConnect preparing to submit your app there's a box for review notes (Source, page 49), where you can put a verification code for the reviewers to use.
iTunes Connect provides an area for Review Notes. The app tester will look at this and use it during review.
Simply put the verification code and any other information inside that area. they WILL read it.
