How do I use an external switch as an interrupt in Nucleo STM32L073RZ microcontroller?
This is my code:
#include "stm32l0xx.h"
#include "stm32l0xx_nucleo.h"
#include "stm32l0xx_hal.h"
static void GPIO_Init(void);
int main(void)
{
HAL_Init();
GPIO_Init();
while(1)
{
}
}
static void GPIO_Init(void)
{
GPIO_InitTypeDef GPIO_InitStruct;
/*Configure GPIO pin : PC15 */
GPIO_InitStruct.Pin = GPIO_PIN_15;
GPIO_InitStruct.Mode = GPIO_MODE_IT_FALLING;
GPIO_InitStruct.Pull = GPIO_PULLUP;
HAL_GPIO_Init(GPIOC, &GPIO_InitStruct);
/* EXTI interrupt init*/
HAL_NVIC_SetPriority(EXTI2_3_IRQn, 0, 0);
HAL_NVIC_EnableIRQ(EXTI2_3_IRQn);
}
void HAL_GPIO_EXTI_Callback(uint16_t GPIO_Pin_15)
{
HAL_GPIO_TogglePin(GPIOA, GPIO_PIN_5);
}
Also how do I connect the external switch to my board?
Connect the switch between the GPIO and and ground (as you have set a pull-up).
Not sure your interrupt setup is correct. It looks like PC15 is set to EXTI_15 from the reference manual (I only had a quick glance so I could be wrong here).

I tried many methods and read reference, but i could not correctly read data from SPI_Receive_DMA mode.
In spi 1 , I want to continuously read Ad7606 data via spi in dma mode in one thread .
However, I always received same data in SPI1 dma mode . As if i didn't receive any new data. i know that if i just want to receive data in spi dma mode ,i have to also turn on TX and RX DMA channels.
i do not know which step i miss or wrong . Does anyone know how to solve this problem? Thanks for very much .

Assuming all your functions are mapped correctly, current flow seems to be:
ReceiveTaskFun calls HAL_SPI_RxCpltCallback() which asserts your chip select, starts DMA transfer and returns
ReceiveTaskFun() deasserts your CS pin and goes into next loop.
HAL_SPI_RxCpltCallback() (called from ReceiveTaskFun) again asserts your CS pin and tries to set up DMA transfer and, most likely, fails. Check return value to see HAL_BUSY, because it hasn't finished transmitting
Meanwhile your DMA transfer might happen, might not (peripheral will be transmitting, whether your slave clocks out data or not), because you are toggling CS pin
When transfer of 8 bytes is done, HAL_SPI_RxCpltCallback() is called, which reasserts CS pin and starts DMA transfer. This might succeed, but since you are toggling CS pin all the time, all you get is garbage
Solution(s) could be:
Use delay in ReceiveTaskFun(). You know transmit + capture duration, use that as a basis
Use RTOS signalling from SPI interrupt - make your ReceiveTaskFun waits for signal from ISR callback and then set up new transfer.

Please let me know if you know the problem.
I have tried removing the resistor connected to the Joystick which is also connected to the receive pin of USART2.
You seem to be missing GPIO configuration.
For this particular MCU, USART2 RX alternate function can be assigned to either PA3 or PD6. TX is either PA2 or PD5. Pick the variant you need and initialize the pins - in both cases it's AF7. Also make sure the clocks for USART and GPIO are enabled.
As it is, your code blocks until 10 bytes are received or 5 seconds timeout has elapsed. Then you are trying to read 1 byte in the array, but your read is out of bounds.
To check that the UART works correctly you could try a very simple echo like this:
while(1)
{
uint8_t echo;
//Blocks indefinitely until 1 byte is received
HAL_UART_Receive(&huart2, &echo, 1, HAL_MAX_DELAY);
//Sends back the byte
HAL_UART_Transmit(&huart2, &echo, 1, HAL_MAX_DELAY);
}
I just started to play with HAL on stm32f4 discovery board.
The most basic blink doesn't work, any hint on that matter would be helpful?
Code itself compiles without any problems.
I was testing STM32CubeMX and used pre-generated main file frome it.
There is nothing advanced inside which could be cause of problem.
I am using CooCox CoIDE development enviroment for it.

There is nothing obvious wrong with the code you have posted - most of it is generated by stm32cubemx, right?
Try checking inside of the stm32f4xx_it.c file - are you calling HAL_IncTick(); within the SysTick interrupt? Without that, the HAL_Delay function won't work ...
Also, have you tried single stepping through your code in debug mode to see what is happening? At the very least that might tell you if you are hanging anywhere.
If none of the above helps, then I would recommend trashing the MX_GPIO_Init function and writing your own that just initialises the GPIO pin you want to toggle.
This is my main problem with stm32cubmx - the output is overly complicated! The clock configuration stuff is nice, but I don't want that in main.c - in a separate file would be OK (ish)...
Alex
I am trying to run a simple program on my new Nucleo board,
I made this program in order to turn on and off the green led when I press the user's button (the blue one),
#include "stm32f4xx.h"
#include "stm32f4xx_nucleo.h"
#include "system_stm32f4xx.h"
#include "stm32f4xx_hal_gpio.h"
#include "stm32f4xx_hal_rcc.h"
GPIO_InitTypeDef GPIO_InitStructure;
int main(void) {
HAL_Init();
__GPIOA_CLK_ENABLE();
GPIO_InitStructure.Pin = GPIO_PIN_5;
GPIO_InitStructure.Mode = GPIO_MODE_OUTPUT_PP;
GPIO_InitStructure.Pull = GPIO_PULLUP;
GPIO_InitStructure.Speed = GPIO_SPEED_HIGH;
HAL_GPIO_Init(GPIOA, &GPIO_InitStructure);
__GPIOC_CLK_ENABLE();
GPIO_InitStructure.Pin = GPIO_PIN_13;
GPIO_InitStructure.Mode = GPIO_MODE_INPUT;
GPIO_InitStructure.Pull = GPIO_PULLDOWN;
GPIO_InitStructure.Speed = GPIO_SPEED_FAST;
HAL_GPIO_Init(GPIOC, &GPIO_InitStructure);
while (1) {
if (HAL_GPIO_ReadPin(GPIOC, GPIO_PIN_13)) {
HAL_GPIO_WritePin(GPIOA, GPIO_PIN_5, GPIO_PIN_RESET);
} else {
HAL_GPIO_WritePin(GPIOA, GPIO_PIN_5, GPIO_PIN_SET);
}
}
}
But I am getting wrong result:
when I press the user's button, nothing happen,
when I keep pressing the user's button and I restart (by pressing the black button), I get good result,
It seems like the program checks the state of the blue button only at the first run, I don't know why,
Please help me if you have any ideas of what the problem comes from, or if you have a running program that switch the led on button press.
I had the same issue this is how I solve it:
while (1) {
int stateOfPushButton = HAL_GPIO_ReadPin(GPIOC, GPIO_PIN_13);
if ( stateOfPushButton == 1 ) {
HAL_GPIO_WritePin(GPIOA, GPIO_PIN_5, GPIO_PIN_RESET);
} else {
HAL_GPIO_WritePin(GPIOA, GPIO_PIN_5, GPIO_PIN_SET);
}
}
Set your button's GPIO Pull to PULLUP:
#include "stm32f4xx.h"
#include "stm32f4xx_nucleo.h"
#include "system_stm32f4xx.h"
#include "stm32f4xx_hal_gpio.h"
#include "stm32f4xx_hal_rcc.h"
GPIO_InitTypeDef GPIO_InitStructure;
int main(void) {
HAL_Init();
__GPIOA_CLK_ENABLE();
GPIO_InitStructure.Pin = GPIO_PIN_5;
GPIO_InitStructure.Mode = GPIO_MODE_OUTPUT_PP;
GPIO_InitStructure.Pull = GPIO_PULLUP;
GPIO_InitStructure.Speed = GPIO_SPEED_HIGH;
HAL_GPIO_Init(GPIOA, &GPIO_InitStructure);
__GPIOC_CLK_ENABLE();
GPIO_InitStructure.Pin = GPIO_PIN_13;
GPIO_InitStructure.Mode = GPIO_MODE_INPUT;
GPIO_InitStructure.Pull = GPIO_PULLUP;
GPIO_InitStructure.Speed = GPIO_SPEED_FAST;
HAL_GPIO_Init(GPIOC, &GPIO_InitStructure);
while (1) {
if (HAL_GPIO_ReadPin(GPIOC, GPIO_PIN_13)) {
HAL_GPIO_WritePin(GPIOA, GPIO_PIN_5, GPIO_PIN_RESET);
} else {
HAL_GPIO_WritePin(GPIOA, GPIO_PIN_5, GPIO_PIN_SET);
}
}
}
Change the GPIO_PULLDOWN mode to GPIO_FLOATING (or something similar)!
This bit of code is what you want to use if your buttons are of the higher current variety like my mechanical 2 state switches:
GPIO_InitStructure.Pull = GPIO_PULLUP;
and adding an int variable also wouldn't hurt, just make sure to do the initialization of your variables only once before starting the main while function, otherwise you end up with leaky memory.
also i see you are not familiar with functions, try the following:
int main(void) {
/* Configure the system clock */
SystemClock_Config();
/* Initialize all configured peripherals */
MX_GPIO_Init();
HAL_Init();
/* Infinite loop */
/* USER CODE BEGIN WHILE */
while (1)
{
/* start your stuff*/
/* doping stuff*/
/* end your stuff*/
}
}

or if you are not confident, consider using a tool such as this:[http://www.st.com/en/development-tools/stm32cubemx.html]
Whenever you download code to your board the micro stays in a RESET mode which is why your code appears to not work. Once you press the BLACK RESET button it will run your code from main() and everything will work fine.
Just remember to RESET every time you flash new code on your micro.
If you using Keil MDK, go to your Target options -> Debug -> Select the debugger you are using and click Settings -> In download functions check 'Reset and Run', so the code resets and runs every time you flash it on your Nucleo board.
Your code and GPIO setup works on CubeMX IDE with my Nucleo-F401RE, you just have to enable 'Reset and Run' in Keil if that's the IDE you are using.
