FLutter, AppBar leading and action margin - flutter

How do i modify leading and the action with IconButton margin/position in appbar? and what is the default margin for leading and IconButton
i can just pust the leading and the action in title with row but i want more cleaner code so i try with leading: title: actions: but the leading & actions is not in the line with the content in the body, the body has margin: 24 left and right. I'm having a hard time using leading: title: actions: from the start writing code in flutter
what i mean is to make the leading and action in the line with the body
this is my appbar code
appBar: AppBar(
iconTheme: IconThemeData(color: Colors.black),
backgroundColor: Colors.white,
elevation: 1,
titleSpacing: 0,
automaticallyImplyLeading: false,
leading: IconButton(
onPressed: () {},
icon: Icon(Icons.chevron_left),
),
title: Text(
'City Guide',
style: Constants.textAppBar3,
),
actions: [
IconButton(
onPressed: () {},
icon: Image.asset(
'assets/images/icon/icon_search.png',
width: 24,
height: 24,
),
),
IconButton(
onPressed: () {},
icon: Image.asset(
'assets/images/icon/icon_save.png',
width: 24,
height: 24,
),
),
IconButton(
onPressed: () {},
icon: Image.asset(
'assets/images/icon/icon_ticket.png',
width: 24,
height: 24,
),
),
],
),

IconButton have size of icon(default 24) and have padding(constrains-min) itself to create a gesture space. With the size of Button is 48, it mean padding of IconButton is 12, your body padding is 24 so we need more 12, try wrap your leading by Padding with left: 12
Example

Try this
import 'package:flutter/material.dart';
void main() {
runApp(const MyApp());
}
class MyApp extends StatelessWidget {
const MyApp({Key? key}) : super(key: key);
// This widget is the root of your application.
#override
Widget build(BuildContext context) {
return MaterialApp(
title: 'Flutter Demo',
debugShowCheckedModeBanner: false,
theme: ThemeData(
primarySwatch: Colors.blue,
),
home: const MyHomePage(title: 'Flutter Demo Home Page'),
);
}
}
class MyHomePage extends StatefulWidget {
const MyHomePage({Key? key, required this.title}) : super(key: key);
final String title;
#override
State<MyHomePage> createState() => _MyHomePageState();
}
class _MyHomePageState extends State<MyHomePage> {
int _counter = 0;
void _incrementCounter() {
setState(() {
_counter++;
});
}
#override
Widget build(BuildContext context) {
return Scaffold(
appBar: AppBar(
iconTheme: const IconThemeData(color: Colors.black),
backgroundColor: Colors.white,
elevation: 1,
titleSpacing: 0,
leading: IconButton(
onPressed: () {},
icon: const Icon(Icons.chevron_left),
),
title: const Text(
'City Guide',
),
actions: [
IconButton(
onPressed: () {},
icon: const Icon(
Icons.favorite,
color: Colors.pink,
size: 24.0,
semanticLabel: 'Text to announce in accessibility modes',
),
),
IconButton(
onPressed: () {},
icon: const Icon(
Icons.local_activity,
color: Colors.black,
size: 24.0,
semanticLabel: 'Text to announce in accessibility modes',
),
),
Container(
margin: const EdgeInsets.only(right: 15),
child: IconButton(
onPressed: () {},
icon: const Icon(
Icons.radar,
color: Colors.black,
size: 24.0,
semanticLabel: 'Text to announce in accessibility modes',
),
),
),
],
),
body: Container(
margin: const EdgeInsets.only(left: 24, right: 24),
color: Colors.amber,
child: Center(
child: Column(
mainAxisAlignment: MainAxisAlignment.center,
children: <Widget>[

),

The issue I am facing is two appBar, I tried removing appBar from loggedIn.dart but Drawer hamburger icon is not showing, and I cannot remove appBar from emergencyHome.dart as I wont be able to add Tab bar. What is viable solution for this? Please help how to Structure by app and routes to easily manage navigation within app
Remove the appbar from EmergencyHome.dart
this will remove the second app title. But there will be that shadow from the first app bar so put elvation:0
so, this will look like one appbar now your drawer will also work.
you can use flexibleSpace in EmergencyHome.dart
DefaultTabController(
length: 3,
child: Scaffold(
appBar: AppBar(
flexibleSpace: Column(
mainAxisAlignment: MainAxisAlignment.end,
children: <Widget>[
TabBar(
tabs: [
Tab(
//icon: Icon(Icons.more_vert),
text: "Report",
),
Tab(
text: "Ongoing",
),
Tab(
text: "Finished",
)
],
)
],
),
),
body: TabBarView(
children: [
ReportAnimalEmergency(),
OngoingAnimalEmergencies(),
FinishedAnimalEmergencies(),
],
),
)
);
You don't want to make two appbar to get the drawer property. Use DefaultTabController then inside that you can use scaffold.so, you can have drawer: Drawer() inside that you can also get a appbar with it with TabBar as it's bottom.
This is most suitable for you according to your use case.
i will put the full code below so you can copy it.
void main() {
runApp(const TabBarDemo());
}
class TabBarDemo extends StatelessWidget {
const TabBarDemo({Key? key}) : super(key: key);
#override
Widget build(BuildContext context) {
return MaterialApp(
home: DefaultTabController(
length: 3,
child: Scaffold(
drawer: Drawer(),
appBar: AppBar(
bottom: const TabBar(
tabs: [
Tab(
text: "report",
),
Tab(text: "ongoing"),
Tab(text: "completed"),
],
),
title: const Text('Tabs Demo'),
),
body: const TabBarView(
children: [
Icon(Icons.directions_car),
Icon(Icons.directions_transit),
Icon(Icons.directions_bike),
],
),
),
),
);
}
}

How to Create Elevated Button with Icon and Text in Flutter

How to create a button that has text and an icon by using the latest button widget ElevatedButton.
import 'package:flutter/material.dart';
void main() => runApp(MyApp());
class MyApp extends StatelessWidget {
#override
Widget build(BuildContext context) {
return MaterialApp(
title: 'Elevated Button',
home: FlutterExample(),
);
}
}
class FlutterExample extends StatelessWidget {
#override
Widget build(BuildContext context) {
return Scaffold(
appBar: AppBar(title: Text('Elevated Button with Icon and Text')),
body: Center(
child: ElevatedButton.icon(
icon: Icon(
Icons.home,
color: Colors.green,
size: 30.0,
),
label: Text('Elevated Button'),
onPressed: () {
print('Button Pressed');
},
style: ElevatedButton.styleFrom(
shape: new RoundedRectangleBorder(
borderRadius: new BorderRadius.circular(20.0),
),
),
)));
}
}
you can add Row() or Wrap() Widget with multiple children in this case Icon() and Text()
ElevatedButton(
onPressed:() {},
child: Wrap(
children: <Widget>[
Icon(
Icons.favorite,
color: Colors.pink,
size: 24.0,
),
SizedBox(
width:10,
),
Text("Click me!", style:TextStyle(fontSize:20)),
],
),
),
You can use ElevatedButton.icon constructor:
ElevatedButton.icon(
onPressed: () {
//OnPressed Logic
},
icon: const Icon(Icons.plus_one),
label: const Text(
"Button Text"
)
),
You can use ElevatedButton.icon constructor for this like
ElevatedButton.icon(
icon: const Icon(Icons.add, size: 18),
label: Text('My elevated button'),
onPressed: () {},
),

Create AppBar as a class flutter

i'm trying to make an appbar as a class for one of my page of my app (only used on 1 page).
I'd like to have addStoryAppBar for my code to be easier to read. How do I do this ? I've tried to create a widget, but it remove the leading back icon
class StoryAddPage extends StatefulWidget {
const StoryAddPage({Key key}) : super(key: key);
#override
_StoryAddPageState createState() => _StoryAddPageState();
}
class _StoryAddPageState extends State<StoryAddPage> {
#override
Widget build(BuildContext context) {
AppBar addStoryAppBar = AppBar(
backgroundColor: Colors.white,
title: Text(
AppLocalizations.of(context).add_story,
style: TextStyle(
color: AppColors.Black,
fontWeight: FontWeight.w700,
fontSize: 16),
),
leading: SvgPicture.asset(
"lib/assets/images/back.svg",
semanticsLabel: 'Back icon',
fit: BoxFit.none,
height: 10,
),
actions: [
GestureDetector(
child: Image.asset('lib/assets/images/select_picture.png'),
onTap: () => {},
),
Padding(
padding: const EdgeInsets.all(10.0),
child: ElevatedButton(
style: kOrangeButton,
onPressed: () => {},
child: Container(
child: Text(
AppLocalizations.of(context).publier,
style: TextStyle(color: AppColors.Black),
),
),
),
),
],
);
return SafeArea(
child: Scaffold(
appBar: addStoryAppBar,
body: Container(
child: Text('Add story'),
),
),
);
}
}
Also tried to extends the AppBar, but how do I pass the context ? Is this the more adapted thing to do ?
class StoryAppBar extends AppBar {
StoryAppBar()
: super(
iconTheme: IconThemeData(
color: Colors.black, //change your color here
),
backgroundColor: Colors.white,
title: Text(
AppLocalizations.of(context).add_story,
style: TextStyle(
color: AppColors.Black,
fontWeight: FontWeight.w700,
fontSize: 16),
),
elevation: 0.0,
automaticallyImplyLeading: false,
actions: <Widget>[
IconButton(
icon: Icon(Icons.notifications),
onPressed: () => null,
),
IconButton(
icon: Icon(Icons.person),
onPressed: () => null,
),
],
);
}
You can extract the AppBar widget to a statefull or stateless widget.
Create your own leading back icon. Just create Text Button, like this:
TextButton.icon(
onPressed: () {
Navigator.pop(context);
},
icon: Icon(Icons.arrow_back_rounded),
label: Text(''),
),
Create a separate method that returns AppBar to your screen widget. Add the below method in a new class and call this method from anywhere you want to show AppBar
AppBar getApplicationAppBar(BuildContext context) {
return AppBar(
backgroundColor: Colors.white,
title: Text(
AppLocalizations
.of(context)
.add_story,
style: TextStyle(
color: AppColors.Black,
fontWeight: FontWeight.w700,
fontSize: 16),
),
leading: SvgPicture.asset(
"lib/assets/images/back.svg",
semanticsLabel: 'Back icon',
fit: BoxFit.none,
height: 10,
),
actions: [
GestureDetector(
child: Image.asset('lib/assets/images/select_picture.png'),
onTap: () => {},
),
Padding(
padding: const EdgeInsets.all(10.0),
child: ElevatedButton(
style: kOrangeButton,
onPressed: () => {},
child: Container(
child: Text(
AppLocalizations
.of(context)
.publier,
style: TextStyle(color: AppColors.Black),
),
),
),
),
],
);
}
If back button functionality not works, then use GestureDetector on Back Button
leading: GestureDetector(
onTap: () {
Navigator.pop(context);
},
child: SvgPicture.asset(
"lib/assets/images/back.svg",
semanticsLabel: 'Back icon',
fit: BoxFit.none,
height: 10,
),
),
if you have stateless widget you can Easily implement PreferredSizeWidget
this example show you how do that :
class CustomAppbar extends StatelessWidget implements
PreferredSizeWidget{
const CustomAppbar({Key? key}) : super(key: key);
#override
Widget build(BuildContext context) {
return Container();
}
#override
Size get preferredSize => Size(15.h, 100.w);
}
if you are using StatefulWidget you can copy paste this code
class CustomAppbar extends StatefulWidget implements PreferredSizeWidget {
final bool? isBack;
final TextEditingController? controller;
const CustomAppbar({Key? key, this.isBack, this.controller})
: super(key: key);
#override
State<CustomAppbar> createState() => _CustomAppbarState();
#override
Size get preferredSize => Size(15.h, 100.w);
}
class _CustomAppbarState extends State<CustomAppbar> {
#override
Widget build(BuildContext context) {
return Container()
}
}
and now you can use class on appbar
Scaffold(
appBar: CustomAppbar(
);
the rason for that if you enter to appbar you will see
/// An app bar to display at the top of the scaffold.
final PreferredSizeWidget? appBar;
the app bar is PreferredSizeWidget
and PreferredSizeWidget implement Widget Class
which contain get method
Size get preferredSize;

what is the best way to implement this home screen?

I would like to create a home page for my flutter app. I used templates from the network, but unfortunately I don't get it the way I sketched it in the picture. maybe someone can help me with that
sketch / result
Unfortunately, I'm sure that I can't do it better: - /, would like to have it exactly like the one on the left (icons and colors are not so important)
I used this link from the forum as a template for the appbar, and I had difficulties in inserting it ^^
Custom AppBar Flutter
I also got the code for the BottomNavigationBar from somewhere in the forum, but I think this is not suitable for my purposes anyway. Since I don't like this shrink effect when clicking on it, the two arrow buttons at the edge should snap back when pressed and not stay in the pressed state, as they should stand for the front and back function ...
here is my complete main.dart

I have modified your code with some commentaries to support you in building the UI.
For the AppBar, you are going in the right direction of using PreferredSize with Stack, just some minor adjustments.
For the BottomNavigationBar, since the provided BottomNavigationBarItem has the icon and title attributes already, we can use that and modify the color from their parents. The 2 arrows buttons can be placed together within the Row.
Here's the full example:
import 'package:flutter/material.dart';
void main() {
runApp(MyApp());
}
class MyApp extends StatelessWidget {
#override
Widget build(BuildContext context) {
return MaterialApp(
themeMode: ThemeMode.light,

appBarTheme: AppBarTheme(brightness: Brightness.light)),
darkTheme: ThemeData(
