What is the best approach to get mac m1 working with docker?
For testcontainers, I used colima and that worked well consistently with testcontainers and oracle db.
For docker-compose, I have had many issues - intermittent SIG fault with deploying a java spring boot war on tomcat 9 and jdk 8 or jdk 17 images. I have tried using platform linux/amd64 or linux/x86_64. This seems to sometimes work, but the container start-up is much slower too.
Please advise.

I am currently using Kolla-ansible for deploying my OpenStack environment and I am running the Openstack Victoria version on CentOS Linux 8. Due to EOL of CentOS Linux 8 is no longer supported. I wanted to migrate now on CentOS stream8.
On the official website they have mentioned the following Note:
CentOS Linux 8 (as opposed to CentOS Stream 8) is no longer supported as a host OS. The Victoria release will in the future support both CentOS Linux 8 and CentOS Stream 8, and provide a route for migration.
My question is:
Has anyone done this migration (any worrisome issues)?
Any idea, are they going to provide a migration route soon because the above-mentioned note is there for around 3-4 months and they stopped supporting CentOS Linux 8?
I have a google VM instance which was running flawlessly. It has Centos-7 and Plesk installed in it.
I just stopped it, upgraded machine type (to better CPU and RAM) and started it again. My server stopped responding at all. No websites are running, I can't connect to SSH & Google Cloud SDK Shell is unable to reach server. It says NETWORK ERROR, CONNECTION TIMED OUT. My all other instances works well.
I tried rebooting & resetting multiple times. Reading out stuff from internet since last 6 hours but for no luck. I also tried to clone disk of the instance and creating new instance with the cloned disk but for no luck. Same network connection issue. May be something in OS got corrupted? Please suggest. I have a number of websites hosted on the server which are down due to this. Thanks a lot in advance.

I have a quick question related to "Kubespray".
Does "Kubespray" support CentOS 8?
I wanted to deploy "Kubespray" on "CentOS" and I came to know that the CentOS 8 has Kernel version 4.18 and If I can use "CentOS 8" for "Kubernetes" deployment, maybe I can get rid of the "c-group" issue which we are currently facing for all the CentOS distribution which has Kernal Version less than 4.18.

According to the official documentation Kubesprawy provides support for CentOS/RHEL 7 only. The problem is that:
Installing Kubespray on a RHEL8 systems does not work since the
default Python version is 3.6 and thus python3-libselinux should be
installed instead of libselinux-python. Even that python2 is still
available, the libselinux-python package is not.

As much as I've looked, I can't find the hardware requirements for running minishift. Nothing mentioned in the Container Development Kit documentation, and the OpenShift documentation only mentions hardware requirements for production deployments.

I may be pushing the limits. On a MacBook Air with 4x1.7GHz & 8GB RAM I’m running Fedora 27. Gave 6GB RAM & 2 cores to the RHEL Server and starting Minishift saw that it was giving 2 cores and 4GB RAM to VM. It took about 30 minutes to download and extract the 4 docker images. Things got progressively worse from there.
I’m trialing OpenShift Online. Would I run into a world of pain using Minishift directly on Fedora?
You would be better of running Minishift directly on Fedora 27 with KVM. Personally I use Minishift on Fedora 27. Using nested virtualisation will not give optimum performance as Minishift creates another VM to provision the OpenShift. So I will not recommend using nested virtualisation for Minishift. With the default settings i.e. 4GB RAM, 2 cores and 20GB disk you should be able to run few simple micro services on it. The resource requirement comes from the application you are trying to run on top of it. So if you are running an application which needs a lot of resources then you need to increase the resources to Minishift.
Once you know how much resources are fine for your application, you should save your configurations using "minishift config set" command. It will persist the settings across start/delete.
I have installed netbeans in my PC (windows 7), wrote a javaFX application program and generated executable jar file
I finally need the executable jar file to be working on Raspberry pi linux and I want to use only openjdk since oracle java for Rpi doesn't support AWT and Swing and my application majorly includes that.
When i tried to execute the jar file using openjdk, i am getting an error - you need to install newer version of JRE to execute this file. I have also tried to execute the same file in ubuntu to verify if there is something wrong and its showing the same error
But, the jar file was executed properly through oracle java in ubuntu. I also tried using Oracle java on RPi, but it opened but didn't work properly.(expected, because it doesn't support AWT and Swing)
So, I think i have an issue opening the file using openjdk. Can somebody help me with this

As Ryanteck mentioned, you will probably have to be running Raspbian (item number 1, the tutorial, uses that OS).

The Raspberry Pi's recommended OS does not support Java at all. The main thing to try is to test it using the Debian Soft float image which should support Java on the Raspberry Pi fine. But it is still in development so may not work.
